Yeah, I've had several LG phones over the years, G3, G4, V20 and now a V35. Liked all of them. Was really interested in the S10+ but found a great deal on the V35 that I couldn't pass up. Not impressed with the hand gestures thing though.

Bought a V30 last year, upgraded from an LG G Pro. LOVE their phones, the V30 is a beast. Love how they're innovating. Such an underrated product. Wish they'd advertise like Apple and Samsung.
G8 is the sleeper phone of the year. Camera is phenomenal.. Amazing display.. Quad dac... Super fast. How the hell is everyone dismissing this incredible phone?
Because marketing does matter which is sad. Honestly I wouldn't know that LG is still in bussiness if i haven't searched for phones with headphone jacks.
I've had the g6 and it was ok but after a while it was so butt. LG overprocesses their photos. At first the g6 had awful halos and artifacting on photos and they sent an update to try and fix it but it just makes every photo look like it was put through one of those painting filters, it was awful. The need to stop with these gimmicks like air gestures to try and stand out, and focus on perfecting the simple things that the other competitors have right. Apple has complete control and have the best phone on the market. Pixel 4 has the best photography camera and Samsung has the best all around performance with anything basically making it the iPhone of Android save for consistent updates. All these companies do pretty much everything right and to a degree of professionalism. Lg can do all the same things but not very well. like yeah it has the 855 but are my selfies on Snapchat gonna look as good as opposed to on an s10 or an iphone. It has air gestures to open apps and do simple actions even though I can just ask Google assistant to do it. The only saving grace besides 3d face ID, imo is the quad DAC, and it slaps hard. Lg should just calm down and market their phones better and not start with so many redundant gimmicks they call features, because it's clear the market doesn't care.
I have been selling phones for for 4 years now. Love LG. I rarely have any issues with them and my customers love them. Major underdogs! Need to actually market in the USA.
Agree with others about the headphone jack. The reason I still appreciate is two fold: 1. If i forget to charge my bluetooth headset, i can still listen to music 2. The wire has saved me a couple of times where the phone was dropped but the wire prevented a fall I do use bluetooth, but nice to know I have a backup when on a long flight overseas and don't have access to a charger..
Watching from my LG V30 - still the best phone I've every used. Not a fan of ANY phone that has a notch on the screen, but have to admit the Dual Screen idea is unique and practical and cool. I'd probably have to wait until they get it a bit slimmer but yet another first brought to smartphones by LG. Another fantastic, entertaining and informative review. Keep up the great work
I had the LG g7 for most of last year and really liked it, since November I've been giving the OnePlus 6t a spin and I really like it as well, the battery is crazy good, like wow good IMO, also the software is top notch, BUT, I'm not the biggest fan of the cameras on the 6t, I feel the g7's cameras are better, so that's why I can't wait for my LG g8 this week.✌🏼
Bro me to! lg1 g2 g4 and v30 right now i will uprage by December for one of these two. I had issues with my lg4 with the memory card reader it was always saying the memory card was ejected but got it fixed by the warranty since then had no issues

Been a iPhone user since they came out then tried to switch to a Android smartphone for a change. Got the v20 when it first came out and man.. for the price and the quality and features u get of that phone was worth it. Sad that people ignore other brands bcs they're all caught up with the iPhone hype.

Awww this is a 1 year old video and RUclips finally recommended it to me today. Anyway, I just wanna mention about the dual screen phone. I know that thing get so heavy, the young man had to rest his hand on the table at 7:50. My LG stylo 3 Plus weight only 150 g. The duel screens phone weight around 190+ g.
It's TOF camera seems like a perfect fit for smart displays that are in the kitchen, for example. Would be useful while washing dishes or cooking, since voice can't do everything quite yet. Great video, btw!
The hovering hand gesture thing with the G8 is really cool technology and would be something I would play around with in a store but I don't see myself hovering my hand over my phone as if I'm trying to do a magic trick if I went and bought it. As for the V50, the only improvements over the V40 for those of us in the United States is a flat camera array on the back and the newest Snapdragon processor. Beyond that, it has the same screen, same audio and same camera specs as the V40.....in short, the V50 is a V40.1. I'm a fan of LG but the G8 has new features I can't see myself using the new features on the G8 when I can just press the screen and the V50 is a minor improvement over the V40 if you live in the USA.
I have definitely been an LG person I've had the LG g2 .. g3 ..g4 .. g5 and g6 I currently have the LG g7 thinQ I've also had the LG V10 and v30 but I'm thinking about getting ithe LG v50 thinQ 5G.. a good majority of my family and friends are Samsung Galaxy Stan's, but I've always been a ride or die LG kinda guy... and I'm happy to say that I've even got a few Samsung Galaxy people to switch over to LG.. And all of them say that they wish they would have switched to LG sooner.. Great video ❤️🙂
8:01 I don't know if it's the camera or the phone but the text on the screen scrolls on it's own kinda like a ghosting effect on the screen. What do you think? Overall in this video I've noticed many instances where the camera fails to handle fast motion video. Just hope the whole video was not captured using the cameras on the phone, I've got high hopes for it. 🤞
I noticed this as well, and it actually seemed to happen when they were using their production equipment. I wonder if they had issues compiling the clips together with the G8 footage, which could be possible if they did not set it to record in the correct format. That is my guess
Does the dual screen allow for a video or movie to spread out onto both screens ? That would be what I would love to use and have more entertainment choices on long trips.
I wonder if you could do split screen on both sides giving you a Quad Screen of 4 separate apps being utilized at the same time... Add the ability to flop open apps and you can do more than you can do.. I wasn't crazy about the look of the dual screen until I realized it was a case with a screen.. Now add a second battery OR solar power recharging window for the battery and maybe stereo speakers with a pen in different colors and your top dog. Good Work LG..

If you turn off or disable the notch on either of these phone's, how is the RUclips experience? If you pinch and zoom in on a RUclips video while the notch is disabled when you have a full screen viewing?
Did LG removed super bright mode (zero shutter lag) and replace it with handheld long exposure night view? Still no camera switch during video recording? Does 'dual fov fusion' help for better digital zoom? No more voice unlock?

Yes I am getting the V50, however, somebody beat LG up in getting that second screen case in the USA, it is a must to have for the phone I want it, everybody is going to want it, definitely will make the phone complete, a must to have, check out digital trends at the MWC.
Been an LG fan since the EnVy days, and currently sporting my V30 while waiting for the V50's release on T-Mo. It's a shame that the "secondary" screen attachment won't be offered stateside (for now), if it was I'm sure it would be a major hit.
Now that Huawei is out of the picture LG should use the opportunity. They goofed up real hard, I wanted a LG V50 until I saw that it isn't available here. Like the website is localized but there's no option to buy it.

Loving this phone pre-ordered it already to replace my LG g6. I still don't like the notch on the LG G8 though.
I felt that way but really with no speaker in the notch, it seems to bother me less than I thought it would.
LG does a great job in allowing you to hide the notch. My V50 is a beast.

LG screwed up with the V50. I wish it was being sold in all markets. Even the US V50 is only with Verizon and Sprint.
LG needs to bring the dual screen to the U.S. I might be able to trade my stocks with that. One screen for my work chart and the other for execution!

I can't believe I've got the V50 for 12.50/mo from Sprint. The phone is excellent.
Is the battery sufficient for the g8 and if you use the dual screen does it kill the 4000 battery on the v50 thinq 5G?
G8 has a 3500 mah battery I think. A hefty upgrade over the g7. That is my only complaint about my g7.

Been an LG fan since the EnVy days, and currently sporting my V30 while waiting for the V50's release on T-Mo.
It's a shame that the "secondary" screen attachment won't be offered stateside (for now), if it was I'm sure it would be a major hit.

They goofed up real hard, I wanted a LG V50 until I saw that it isn't available here. Like the website is localized but there's no option to buy it.
