Hey Chad great to hear you are doing better. My name for the knife would be The Survivor. Simply put, if a new sub was to ask me to describe you in a couple of words , this is what I would say. From back in the beginning trying to make a plaque and all the things you went through till now, wow , you survived a lot of stuff and never gave up. The private stuff and the not so private stuff. You deserve this. If not the knife, something like putting the word on a plaque made up of knife parts and putting it on the door of your shop. All the best to you and your wonderful family. I'd go with "The Minutemen" or "The Tun" (for Tun Tavern, obviously). If it is designed to be a Military/LE oriented knife, then any name that highlights our nations rebellious upbringing will do just fine.
I like Artemis, Raven and that Padre sounds neat. the Montana was with your friend and the Companion was with the Forgotten guys as was the Camp Knife with Casey. A name that includes the person or organization that help influence the knife would be cool.
I'd call it anything similar to "Bulldog" or just that...Bulldog. Hercules, fits better than Artemis! Durin The Deathless also fits the bill! lol Thats a character from the Lord of the Rings! Artemis, doesn't fit the looks of it. Artemis was the daughter of god Zeus. Patriot style knives, are smaller size and usually not beefy knives, this one is beefy. Defender would fit better a larger fighter knife. Knife is not big enough, to call it Indipentant and that also doesn't sound a cool name.
Really like the looks of the new knife. All the names you mentioned sound good, but you being a Marine I thought you may have thrown around something like "Devil Dog", "Leatherneck" or "Semper Fidelis", just saying.
Man oh man! Alot of great names being dropped and your thoughts would fit this knife beautifully! However after looking at the knife I kept thinking "The Sentinel" would be pretty fitting! Either way, it looks absolutely amazing!
I think since it is partly inspired by your father and he is critiquing your design, you should honor him with the new knife name and call it "Padre"
