Thanks for sharing your insights into handle design. There has been plenty of innovation in knife steels through out the last 3500 years with only small changes in handle design. The efforts to innovate handle designs, even with modern technologies is costly both in terms of time/money. This is likely the main reason we have seen few changes over thousands of years. There is far more to be gained in terms of user comfort, safety & ergonomics with innovative knife handles than blade designs. Equipment to test the ergonomics of handle designs is currently under development with some preliminary testing completed. Preliminary data indicates traditional handle designs & the old blade centric pinch grip leave a lot to be desired both in terms of comfort & safety. As Gordon Ramsey said " The Secret to a great set of knives is in the handle "
This was a fantastic video. I learned so much about kitchen knives and kitchen knife handles I had no idea they were more important than the blade itself
Hey thanks so much and thanks for watching. Your kind words mean a lot. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to check out what I wanted to share :)
