Great video Graham and thanks for the shout-outs (both personally and for the NTSC Presents channel)! :D It was great to meet and chat with you and your fellow RUclipsr's at CAPEX'22. Philately is indeed alive and well in the virtual (and real) world! --Jean
It was a dream come true to meet you Graham and get to chat! You've inspired so many collectors, especially those of us joining the digital scene. So glad you came up to Toronto for the show... Boston 2026 has been penciled in to my calendar 😎
It was so awesome to meet you in person and even time to hang out after the show. Thanks so much for all you do in the community, Boston 26 is going to be epic, you gotta be there 🙌
Thanks Graham for making this video I was a participant, you showed a glimpse of my exhibit The Nepal Artwork of Indian Rhino from the Exhibit- A Safari through the Kaziranga National Park (for your love for Rhinos)👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Whoa!! That's amazing!! Congrats on participating and entering your exhibit. It obviously caught our eyes when walking through the exhibits, and you did a wonderful job, a very cool and fascinating exhibit. Thanks so much 😊🙏
You are the best, Sarah! Thanks so much for making the trip to attend the show and hang out with us 😊. We are totally counting on you to bring some of the fun to Boston!!
Thank you Graham for taking us with you and Laura, of course, to Canada!!! The only bad thing, is the video is too short!! 😅😅😅 It's amazing to see all this young people sharing their love for stamps!!! Thank you!!! Greetings from Portugal to you and Laura!!
Great episode. Your presentation was enlightening and it was great to greet you and Laura. CAPEX 22 was a huge learning experience for the organizers, and we can pass that on for the next International in Canada. To be sure there is exhaustion - both physical and financial. In the past, international stamp shows could count on funding from the post office. Not anymore. CAPEX 22 was 100% self-funded by a combination of dealer booths, entrance fees, some very generous donors and other sources. It took a lot of effort to make it a success and the wonderful post-show enthusiasm is gratifying. But everyone who pitched in to make it happen needs a good long rest.
Thank you Ingo!! It was great seeing you again, this time in Canada 😊. Thank you so much for coming to my talk, and of course for watching the video. Really interesting stuff about the funding challenge this year, it definitely seems that everything worked out with the self funding, great! Hope to see you at a stamp.show again soon, and keep up the great work on Instagram.
I never again want to hear an older stamp collector say that the hobby is dying because younger people aren't into it. Knowing that a younger stamp person had a tattoo of a postmark put on their arm says it all about the future of the hobby. Great report. I wish I had gone for there might not be another CAPEX in my lifetime.
@@DissectingPhilately I was once told by an old philatelist when I was a young collector (1960's), "Collect what you want, how you want to." It was his way of saying, "There are no rules about how one should collect stamps."
Totally!! The hobby is taking on a new energy and form, (I love the idea of an obliterator tattoo from a home town, a marking from your origin!! Too perfect).
Regarding there being another Capex in your lifetime, unless you are really old I expect there will be another. The reason there wasn’t a capex after 1996, was because Canada Post ceased to be a major sponsor. But the organizers of Capex 22 did their Capex w/o significant help from Canada Post and it was a big success. Lots of foot traffic in the bourse and lots of foot traffic in the exhibits (the most I’ve ever seen). So I’m pretty sure there will be another Capex. 👍
Great episode, Graham. I enjoyed experiencing the show vicariously. I'm still working on being able to attend a big show and meeting all the great people in the hobby.
I was at CAPEX on the Sunday...went last minute. Sorry to have missed you. I saw once I was there that you had been speaker the previous day. Kicked myself of course. The exhibits were awesome. Especially loved those that showed the developments of stamp designs. I also managed to see a few old friends, which made venturing out after two years well worth while. Glad you liked Toronto.
Ah sorry I missed you James! The exhibits were super impressive, glad you got to see them and attend the show. Toronto is a beautiful city. Thanks so much for watching 😊
I just pressed pause and watched the entire video on Belgian railway stamps lol - thanks for highlighting more great channels! It was encouraging to see so many young people walking around at CAPEX; the hobby is changing and I hope older collectors seize the opportunity to pass on the torch without being too wedded to the old ways.
Great review of CAPEX 22! I was there all 4 days and still didn't get to see everything. Thanks for presenting to the North Toronto Stamp Club on Saturday morning and the promotion of NTSC Presents. After watching all your videos over the last 3 or 4 years, i t was really nice to meet you and Laura in person.
Loved seeing bits of CAPEX. But I must admit I was thinking about Boston 2026 the whole time, so I was tickled pink that you mentioned it at the end! I am so extremely excited for that show. And to just spend time in Boston that week, as the city is going to be celebrating the 250th anniversary of key moments in the American Revolution. So ready for May 2026. 🎉
Thank you for sharing your impressions. Looks like a lot of fun and lots of young people. Great! It's also nice to see that other youtubers have found their way to Toronto alongside you. This is how stamps and philately get a mouthpiece on social media. Maybe we'll see each other somewhere sometime.
Absolutely! Thank you so much for watching and supporting. The more people interacting and producing content such as the 2 RUclipsrs I met in Toronto, the better it is for the hobby. 😊
You are a lucky man Graham..😊 I haven't been to an international stamp show in years! The last one I attended was Bangkok in Aug 2013. Thanks again for another great video. A little more footage of the various stalls would've been fantastic.
