- Check out this 1985 Ford Thunderbird Elan, from Ford's initial venture into aero-style to replace the dowdy BirdBox that came before it...Full walkaround and commentary of this quite loaded car that still looks in decent shape, but apparently not good enough to keep flying around the countryside...
Cool old bird.
I was given a low milage 85 Elon for Christmas this year. Almost identicle.
Congratulations! And thanks for watching!
daym i need parts for my car!
Sorry to correct you is the same motor that the mustang had at that same year it's at 302 pulling more like 400 horses
I want parts
Looks just like a Taurus LX inside from same year. Basically these were 2dr Tauruses
There were some styling similarities to keep it all in the family and even some components such as knobs and other below the skin components, however the Taurus debuted for 1986 (so a couple of years after this generation of T-bird debuted and one year after this particular one) but don't forget the T-bird was RWD vs the Taurus being FWD, completely unrelated platforms. There's a video of an amazing condition first year (1986) Mercury Sable on this channel for a good comparison, which was of course the Mercury cousin to the Taurus. Thanks for watching!
@@jimmythejunkyarddawg My Dad said the Taurus was out in mid 85 as that was the year he got married. He wanted a Taurus or a Thunderbird like this one but they were expensive for him at the time being a young guy in his 20s. Anyways this era of "Jellybean Fords" was what made other brands look way older. These were early 80s cars that had 90s styling then. Always loved our Ford's. I currently own which was my Dads bought brand new! A 2010 Ford Fusion SPORT it's in a silver metallic color has the SPORT model exclusive big 24V Cyclone Engine, black/ blue leather interior, moonroof, Sony premium sound changer ECT. Loaded and rare breed of the Fusion lineup for first gen body. It's never seen winter since new and is stored. Love it. Reminds me of this era styling a bit. Similar to the original SHO in deminsions
