Had the 84 with the 5 liter and the premium sound package. Was a good looking car for its day and the thing was pretty fast. Young and dumb I beat the crap out of it.
This was my car back in the 80s. All black with plush burgundy interior. I paid $9000 for it, financed it, paid it off then I had an accident, got a nice check from the insurance company and that paid for my college tuition. It worked out pretty good
Thats an 1984. 1986 had new updated interior and dash to match the Taurus and Tempo. Seen ppl saying its an 86! No its clearly an 84. 83 to 85s had the older interior.
My girl was lite blue with same interior no HO engine though. Loved that car but the damn EGR would get clogged and shed loses vacuum and die at idle chronically. That and eat water pumps.
@@lilibethdoherty295 the 5.0 H.O motor only produced 205 HP the factory CFI is 175HP unless you got the factory Thunderbird H.O CFI then it was 210. So factory Motor had 5 HP more then the 5.0 H.O mustang motor in it now

Had one just like it, 5.0 and all, except the pinstripe was white.
That's NOT the 5.0 that came in the car new.

Thunderbird didn't come with hood ornaments. The 83-6 cougars did
didnt come with them
If I had a 1984 Thunderbird I would attach a hood ornament to the center front of the hood

i have a 86 right now, to be honest its a nice car in all but in snow its a pos. a suggestion is to make it posi if it alredy isnt
Why not the factory carb or CFI motor or at least a t bird motor? Not a 88 to 93 mustang motor

Looks better than todays dull plastic black wheeled crap these older cars had class that you could actually be proud of
Mines came with Chrome also.
