- On this episode of TRC on the water we're back with Brian "BK Built" testing an absolutely insane Turbo Jetski! It's running a massive 7685 turbo, Motec ecu, mechanical fuel pump on methanol fuel, built 4 cylinder engine... this is without a doubt the most ridiculous setup we've ever seen on a jetski. To give you some perspective, this setup in a car would be capable running a 7 second 1/4 mile time!

Enjoy this absolutely ridiculous turbo jetski! A little perspective for you guys, the TRC Supra used to run the same 7685 turbo and cars have gone 7 second 1/4 mile times with similar setups... (mind blown)
What engine is it based on/running?

@Joey Marcum I would imagine they would pull the engine out and figure a way to test it that way.. That OR test the flow rate out of the jet and do the numbers that way
@@brandonstone6962 well its definitely a number taken from the crank because there aren't pumps that flow 1000hp and fit in a ski. I'd bet it's at best 700hp and either way a colossal waste of time and money because 500hp and you are already cavitating the best aftermarket pumps for skis
If youve ever ridden a 1000+cc wave runner and said 'this needs more' youve got a screw loose and im thankful for it. This is insanity.

I'm not trying to be billy big balls but I never thought 1000-1200cc waverunners in stock form were that fast. The acceleration could be fun but that's short lived. In my opinion if you want to have fun on a jet ski it has to be a stand up 2 stroke.
I haven't rode one of these turbo sitdowns though. If any one wants to change my mind let me know :P
The gp1800r svho is 1800cc. Stock goes 70-72 mph, but it gets there very quick. It will get your adrenaline going sometimes. Love the power from these things!
No goggles or glasses if a bug hits his eye at 100 plus lol
I hit a dragonfly doing 55mph on ski and that shit splattered all over my goggles and forehead.. so yeah it can happen

Nothing "shoots up" when an engine like this blows. I've blown several. Nothing has EVER hit my hood, nothing will "shoot up his ass either.

It’s been great to see the pwc market getting some exposure. The speeds that are coming out lately are crazy. Fastest I’ve been is 80mph. The ski pulled my arms out of my sockets and got from A to B like that. I’ve been in 85+ speed boats, ridden a turbo gsxr1000 n even threw a leg over a kx 500 on the mx track. The ski was the fastest thing I’ve ever ridden from A to B.
Everything blows up just when. Definitely need a nutz guard for that thing

You'd have to hook the driveshaft up to an engine dyno to get an estimate I guess.
There is cooling, it uses water from the jet pump and it probably gets dyno on a driveshaft dyno

That's crazy cool... love going over 100 on the water. Doing it on a jetski sounds exciting if you survive.
Once I was slalom water skiing behind a drag boat. I fell at over 100 mph and then skipped across water for over 1/4 mile. It ripped my flotation vest off, and shredded my wet suit that also provides buoyancy. I thought I was going to drown. I tried to tread water, but my legs didn't move very good. I realized my ski never came off, and my legs were twisted almost backwards. That's when the pain hit; head, face, arms, legs, internal organs. Boat came around and pulled me out. Got back to shore and saw everything was still attached, arms and legs functioning. I never skied faster than 60 after that.

To everyone who doesn't believe the power, 1300hp on a high comp 1.8L with that much boost through a 76, it seems totally realistic to me. My car is a 11.6:1 sleeved 1.8L and made 700whp on 30psi through a 6262. Add 14mm more turbo and almost double the boost. Am I missing something here? (I will admit I know nothing about the water pumps these run, so maybe that could be the bottle neck?)
I think shaft horsepower, you're bang on. Im not an engineer but i imagine the impellers have to suffer some degree of cavitation loss when they're spinning that fast.

@@jwt4le yea, didn't wanna look up exact figures but short story shorter, no production jet ski motor (no matter how well built it may be) is gonna put out 1000hp. Plus good luck fitting a pump that can do something with the power other than banging the rev limiter and cavitating.

Think about it. Nitro drag bikes make over 1000 hp. Plus if the ski had 1300 hp I have hard time believing the pump can keep up with the out put.

Your uploading at 60fps but your camera is capped out at 30fps( thats why it looks all choppy), try and tweak the settings if possible

Being raised on a large lake in SC. I bought a used Yamaha Wave Blaster. A buddy had new & was souped up. Being broad sided by a wave & thrown, head over feet at top speed, was bad enough! Back in the day 50-60mph on water was fast, and the Blaster leaned & cornered like a motorcycle. While spewing a giant rooster tail.

Edit: Since it doesnt seem to be power/engine work, I wonder what the current/main limiting factors are for these balls-to-the-wall skis. Perhaps the intake grates not getting enough flow cause the whole damn thing comes out of the water? Awesome stuff guys.
Yep. The waves hold them back. Need to make them run on a hydrofoil or something that can keep them off the waves but still be somewhat controllable.

Sooo ahhhhhh....it's not that I don't believe you, but I dont.... it's not over 1000hp. A jet pump you can fit in a ski cant handle 1000hp. Jet boats that have over 1000hp often use 2 pumps, and you couldn't fit 1 of those let alone 1 giant one that could handle 1000hp. Also I've only heard of couple 4cyl that have made over 1000hp.
And if I'm wrong please do a build recap on this because I'm dying to know how that's possible.

One problem... You CANˋt compress water! At one (early! About 400hp or so) point you can put 6000hp in a seadoo, you never will get faster.

I'm an old school stand up guy, 1983 440 kawi, 87 550 race Law I that did 55 mph. Then a 93 750 sxi and a few mor 550's. I had 3 and 2 boats and lived on Lake Whatcom untill they banned the 2 strokes here on our 2 big lakes. So I got pissed and sold them all told my stuck up neighbors to go fuck themselves and moved away. I made a high performance boat company that was reliant on these lightweight 2 stroke motors like my 2.5 liter Mercury Drag Racing motor. Indy car tech on a boat! I still have my 2 stroke 2.5 and race Kart, and 8h.p kicker motor for my small boats so screw them. But turbos on a 4 smoker are a game changer. What pump do you run?

Maybe a stupid question but please go easy on me, but where is the air intake on a jetski? That turbo must be pulling in a lot of air, where does it do so without sucking in lots of water droplets?

Joe cook ya exactly there use to be huge jet boat races where I’m from when I was a kit I think they got up to about 150 in a really short distance and all had old big block v8s most of them sounded like they had 500 or so hp
