I’m using a harbor freight weed burner for my wok. It has 300000 btu. Had a stand built for the torch. Did you build yours and is there a way of telling what the btu is?
Will this only work with a high pressure regulator? What is the performance with a low pressure bbq style propane regulator? Also, what about Natural Gas?
Have you ever measured how much gas do these burners use per hour? Also do you have any guide on how the pipe and hole dimensions change if you wanted to make it smaller or larger?
Greetings, when placing the Minimum Fire it turns the pot or pan that is being used black? I have a similar one, but it smokes the utensils when the fire is minimal... thanks, your video is very good.
add stainless steel bucket + water pipe from tap and shower - and you will get best water heater - instant - and even when shower off - heat/water income rate remains the same - so water continued to collect in bucket - with initial temperature that you adjusted first by gas and water flow regulation - then you can use more water, or turn gas and water off and use buferized water quantity from bucket if bucket overflow - gas will stop - no any explosion - but need to be there - to turn all off with PVC transparent pipe formed like N filled with water and submerged to bucket by one end - you will get level indicator without extra holes in bucket - actually you don't need even one drilling
Was wondering if this burns more fuel than a plain turkey fryer burner, I would like to make one for my beer brewing set up,it looks like it would heat up really fast which is a plus when doing a 5 - 10 gallon boil.... thanks
HI andrew amazing project. do you know if is possible install a knob instead of the faucet style valve ? can you list one here in the comment ? thank you so much
Hi Andrew, You mentioned "Basically the hottest part of the flame is near the tip of the flame" can you share what is the best distance for the flame to be from the wok? This way I can determine the distance for the burner to the base. From what I calculate by watching your videos the top part of the jet burner is about 6 to 7 inches from the base. I saw many people as you a similar question but no replies. What do you suggest is a starting point and how do we know when we got the flame at the right place. thanks for a great video!
@@karimbahmani8423 I'm thinking that this burner is pretty much full on or off with no mid range. A more heat controllable burner set up would probably work better for an oven

Hey there, thanks for the video. Just got mine welded together and lit it up, but the orifice seems to be pointed a few degrees to the side. Is there anything I can do to fix it, or is it ok the way it is?
Could this type of burner be used for a turkey fryer with an aluminum stock pot? I have watched your videos on making these burners. I have watched others using mig tips as the orifice into a 1.5 to 3/4 reducer into an 8”-10” piece of 3/4 pipe. These are used for forges, but I worry about that focused of a flame on an aluminum pot. What are your thoughts?
Wow. I have been wanting to have one burner like this for ages. Question though. What would happen if I decide not to choke the bottom part of the pipe. Can I just not do that and use it as it is? Thanks Mate!
What is the best distance between the burner tube and the bottom of the wok. In the video it looks like there's a lot of distance. Wouldn't it be better to close the gap and get more heat to the wok and less heat to the cabinet? Thanks for making the video!
Hi, does anyone know if this would work of the burner tube was bent, I want to use a 45 degree pipe to direct the flame at an angle rather than straight up.
@@TheDechof yeh I did it with a 45 bend exhaust tip. It works really well, it’s just a bit loud (not sure if that’s because of the thickness of the tip or the bend or that’s just how they are)
i had a small wood fired pizza oven that i want to convert into gas fired. this seems to satisfy my search. can you send me a step by step instruction in pdf format? many thanks
have some questions, the smallest drill bit i found at the hardware store was a 1/16. will that work? and i plan on using a 4inch long burn tube. will that work as well?
Why not? Many people use propane stoves in their campers, motor homes and kitchens. Just make sure it is well secured to a base that can't be accidentally knocked over.
Hi Andrew. Great instructional video. Just one thing mate. How many holes did you drill in the tube? I thought I saw a couple of holes; and I promise I have not been drinking. Cheers mate.
You don't need that size pipe, what I do is take a 1/8 pipe collar weld it to a peace of flat bar than weld the flat bar to a 2 inch piece of tube than take a grease zert with 1/8 pipe thread grind the back off until the spring and ball fall out screw it into the pipe collar than plum the rest out of 1/8 pipe it will give you a burner that is the same as a brush burner, all the btu you can get from a vapor burner, if you really need more btu make a liquid propane burner, a lot more involved
That burner would not be good for a wok, it puts the flame in the center of the wok, if you look at a burner made for a wok the flame covers the whole wok that is what you want
Nice bro! Iam gonna make myself a wokburner this summer. Way better then almost everything you can buy at less of the price

FYI 3" sch 40 is 3 1/2 on the OD look's like you have 2 1/2 sch40 ,OD is2.875 go on line and search for pipe Diameters thanks for the burner demo.
I wasn't confident on building one before. Now I understand everything.
welcome to the metric system dude !!

Hola amigo que buen quemador servira para colocarcelo a una freidora de papas fritas
You should drill burner holes slightly off the center line to help keep dirt and debris out

Just a quick question though does it consume a lot of gas or not?
Andrew, thanks for the video. What kind of regulator do you need, is it 5 pound of 10 pound...or high pressure or low pressure regulator?
Excellent video. Thanks.
I can't get my jet burning fire to turn blue ???

Can we use it inside the brick pizzaoven ??
thanks for the tutorial @Andrew W

What size drill for the orfice hole
how did you decide on the size and length of the burner tube?
Thanks for your information 👍👌😂
Size drill bet
What Consumption Does ..?
Where to sell 3”x6”OD schedule
yo awesome video man.... I started watching your channel because of the onewheel, I guess you like woks hei cooking too.
Andrew. any idea if the burner would work in an old gas bottle that has the top and bottom removed?
did you use a pressure regulator, if yes , wich pressur?

Have you found that a single jet burner puts to much concentration of heat in a small area or does it distribute evenly across the wok ?
With conventional wok cooking, you want distinct heat zones. The bottom should be considerably hotter than the sides.
Do you sell those ?
why did you use galvanized vs black iron?
Because the black iron is much more expensive and this little burner doesn't have to be built to code
Andrew , thanks voor de video can you make ons for me
I ‘m looking forward for your answer

The burner may not light or will burn too lean.
Thank you. So it controls air to gas ratio. Now i understand.
wouldn't the electric start melt or get fry by the flames when it lits?
It's below the hottest part of the flame. Been using it for months now with no problems.
How would you do different to make this jet burner compatible with natural gas?
double the gas hole

What the approximate BTUs that you're getting from your burner?
I'm not sure but just by guessing how hot a 40,000 BBQ gets, this burner far exceeds that.
You can only get so much btu from a vapor burner, I have built liquid propane burner the size he has and rated 5 million btu
@@JohnAdams-xc5yk I would love to see that go off!
hi! Andrew W, is a amzing !!! A question ... does this burner work only vertically or can it be used horizontally too? thanks!
It could be used horizontally but I have't tried it myself.
Why didn’t you just use a screw on cap?
can u use this burner for a fish fryer
It belongs to you so ?????
Wery nice

Hmm 1/16 might be a tad bit too much flow of gas but it is work a try. The 4 Inch should work.
Andrew W thanks!
1/16 = 1.58 mm
Sorry if i sound stupid... Most of the Jet Burner videos state "Outdoor" use... Can this be used indoors??
Use it anywhere you decide you want to use it it belongs to YOU!
Do you have a fire suppression system in your kitchen? We are approaching the flash points of your ceiling here.
Why not? Many people use propane stoves in their campers, motor homes and kitchens. Just make sure it is well secured to a base that can't be accidentally knocked over.
What size of rod you use to weld this pipes?? 6011? 6013? 7018?
Thanks!!
They all should work but 6013 or 7018 is my preferred ones, 6011 is messy IMO
6011? 6013? 7018? these are not sizes, these are types. Try 1/8"-7018 or smaller.

John yes wok burners have 30 little jets thats to save money on gas but not funtional
If you watch his station build, you can see the flame deflecting across the bottom of the wok and working wonderfully.
The way he speaks annoys me
