Thanks Matt! I started using the tightrope after a previous video you did. Currently using a trd Ned trailer with it. It rarely gets hung in Ozark rivers.
@@PistolPete3322 I’ve only done a small section of the Gasconade-from the confluence with the Big Piney to Boiling Springs. Is it as good of a smallie stream as people say?
When I was 16, now 49, I couldn't stand fishing with jigs. I refused to fish with them at all costs. Well, turned 18 and decided to give it a try. I forced myself to fish the San Joaquin River in Central California. I brought 2 rods, a bunch of brown finesse jigs, and a couple of bottles of Uncle Josh' pork trailers in a glass jar. I got hung up several times and almost gave up. Finally, I got my first "thump" It had to be the hardest thump vie gotten to date off of a lure/plastic. I wound up catching 4 fish that day that I forced myself to learn how to fish with a jig. Now, I tie larger jigs, finesse jigs, (Which are normal jigs in my area) and pour all my own plastics. Patience is definitively a virtue. I think if you force yourself to fish with something that is not your confidence bait, eventually, it could become a confidence bait. Tight lines all!
Matt , I've also taken a liking to the Berkley Cash out worm as a trailer for the Kietech jigs. Good video, as usual straight to the point which I appreciate.
Hey Matt, every time I match with you I feel empowered to be better and it lifts my confidence in the baits I’m using. I’ve used the Keitech tungsten and the Firecracker jigs since they first came out from the guys at Stray Cast podcast and my favorite trailer is the Maxscent Little Trouper and Super Trouper. I have really had fun fishing with those finesse jigs and they have put some money in my pocket from fishing the couple of bass clubs here in the Raleigh NC area lakes.👍😎🍀🎣🍀 keep up the great momentum this season, and make it to the BPT… My rookie picks in the past 5-6 years have been Matt Becker, Jacob Wall,Ryan Salzman,Dakota Ebare, and YOU👍🍀🎣🍀💯 I had Miles “Sonar” Burghoff, Gussy, and Carl J… I’m sure feeling good about you being there this year💯👍😎
Have messed around with BFS Matt? It's a fun way to fish. I love when big fish crush small baits as much as I get a kick out of small fish hitting big baits. For finesse jig trailers, I've had success with the keitech little spider 3 and 3.5, OSP dolive craw 3 and 4 inch, or the missile baits baby d bom
Those in the know have been using Tightrope jigs for years. Its creator, Ryan, is a hell of a stick. It was created on the rocky Chicago Lake Michigan harbors and lakefront to be snag free in chunk rock.
Thanks for the Keitech spider grub recommendation in an earlier finesse jig video. I have been a fan of the Hula Grub but was not aware of the smaller Keitech rendition until your callout in that episode.
I have been getting jigs with stout but shorter than a regular jig hook and tying a skirt on then trim it up just below the hook, gets tons of bites. I also use that bumblebee jig with the berkley chunk trailer you need to tell Berkley to make the Pitboss in straight black also those would be awesome because you could use it for everything
I like the way you present information. Now I have not looked at your library but I've tried lots of others and even friends who don't seem to have an issue with PITCHING. First, they call it flipping which from the palm like that is pitching. I have an 7.5 with a flip switch and I do that. Long ago the way I was taught was to set 8 or so coffee cups around the yard in a sort of circle and stand on a 5gal or stool flipping a jig from cup to cup by pulling the line between first eye and baitcaster. I've tried the pitch and watched friends do it, I just can't seem to master the motion and I think it's because the rod is too long? I'm 5'8 so if I try to dip that long rod it hits the water or gets all gangly. So, if you've got the time or the video already to help I'd sure appreciate it.
I love a finesse jig. I use the a couple of good ones but the war eagle, jewel baits, and dirty jigs kill it. I love a chunk of a small creature bait like a 3inch pit boss or a 3.5 smallie beaver
Caught my pb 9lb Illinois lmb on one of those jigs trailer of choice is a 3in OSP dolive craw to imitate craw and a poor boy Erie darter to imitate gobies and a 2in keitech to swim them over rocks this jig comes thru cover great
That's not finessy enough for Sincerely Yours. We're talking trout setups for big bass. We're talking lethargic summer bass in the sand that are too lazy to chase baits nor chew that finesse jig. They don't know what's it's like to finesse the rocks with dinky jigs. Saw two mating fair-sized bass and I showed the buddy who thought he was good at fishing how to catch them using the smallest jigs.....the guy never respected me when I told him I guarantee I can catch them. This is one reason why you don't give to those who aren't wise nor are appreciative. I guess he can compete at the highest level now or hold his own, yet only have gone on to be unappreciative. I'll just have to avoid teaching unworthy men.
This guy is a clown. He's mad they cacelled Comic con so he goes on good youtubers chanels and talks like he knows. He was on Damian Thao's a couple of days ago saying Damian was scared to fish against him. He needs to get a life and get of his high horse before he falls off.
I've been using TRD TicklerZ and Yum Craw Papi for finesse trailers and they work great. If you want to go really finesse get some ISG Bambino Finesse Chunks.
Thanks Matt! I started using the tightrope after a previous video you did. Currently using a trd Ned trailer with it. It rarely gets hung in Ozark rivers.
works great!
A jig that doesn’t hang up on Ozarks creeks is something special. Gonna have to check it out.
@@tbecker403 I use them on the meramec and gasconade. With the TRD trailer it rarely gets hung.

@@tbecker403 I think it’s good not great. Nothing as good as Wisconsin or Michigan rivers.
I just started using jigs when fall started . So far I haven’t caught anything on them , but can’t wait to use them next spring
they work great
Thanks for the lake mead tip. I like the fish catch segment at the beginning

Thanks Matt. Great info! Good luck on your next tournament!

Have you ever tried a Hack Attack Fluoro jig? It's a short-shank hook for a really compact profile. Those have been my MVP jigs so far this year.
i havent but will check it out
I caught my lake pb on that jig 👍🏻
I have some new in package if you want to buy them
I'm a big fan of the Tightrope jig with a Z-man Ned Craw. It catches them and it is the never snag jig.
That’s what I use too.
Nice!

Good video. What jig were you using for Smallmouth ?
tightrope firework
The trd is my favorite
its a good one!
Hey Matt, have you tried the zman midwest jigs?
nope. ill check them out
Why do you remove the weed guard on the casting jig?
if im fishing around rock it leads to better hookups and the weedguard is useless
What rod and reel combo do you like to use with these?
MHX NMB-873 with a Abu Garcia Zenon X

It is a good choice for early post spawn fishing in clear lakes? Thanks from🇵🇹?
yep!
😊line size choice on your baitcaster with finesse jigs?
10-15 lb fluorocarbon depending on water color
I heard that clank
haha
What's the _"unique benefit"_ casting jigs offer that other jigs don't?
Head designs make them better for fishing further from the angler
Very snag free in chunk rock, unique profile
👍👍👍👍👍
thanks for watching!
Rabid crawfish. It’s all about the hair buds.
im hearing good things
