The bait and areas are so helpful, but when no one shows you how to actually retrieve a bait it leads to full tackle boxes and empty live wells. Randy, thank you for your help. Where I live, our water is green but a different green. For example i noticed on days where the water will appear crystal clear, a green line color will dissappear in the water. A clear will become even more visible and ive seen clear spook fish. But our water is green to super green id say 75% of the time. Ive recently had good luck with a chartreuse jig head. Instead of a weed gaurd i found some ewg neg jigheads from eagle claw. Put some olive, watermelon, and a green pumpkin mix of silicon skirt with just like 2 or 4 single strands of chartreuse in there. Pair it with a green pumpkin or black w blue flake craw and its been doing great. Also made a jig with chartreuse ewg ned. But i used brown, black with a striped pattern. Then some solid black with a few purple and chartreuse strands. Just enough to grab the fishes attention. But i paired it with a junebug superhog cus weve been having a lot of rain lately. June bug does good for me in murky water. But that combo worked great as well. Working on making my very own jig head style and mold. I have some ideas that arent on the market. Ive looked everywhere. Also working on making my very own mold for soft plastic trailers as well. A lot of work but i cant help it. Its an itch i got to scratch. Lol thanks Randy once again for everything. Looking forward to every video and bit of info. You truly are a fishing guru bud.

Ive learned to weigh my plastics and then total jig and trailer combo and keep note of it. Had to go to the weed store and get a scale. That and i got a big one so to work with fishing lure size. Coming out of the store was a funny moment cus i went immediately after work and the weed store is right in the middle of town and everyone gettinv off work saw me lol had some explainin to do at work the next day. Do you ever use Z Man soft plastics? They're very bouyant and you could use them to slow down the sink rate of a jig. They float so they stand up off the bottom with a jig head. Their craws should be awesome jig trailers.
These videos are helpful even though I fish in the saltwater. I use some kind of jig about 95% of the time in the Chesapeake, from regular jig heads with paddle tails or shrimp imitations from Gulp to Z Man or Salt Strong soft plastics. I use the Texas Eye jigs and Snake Locks anytime I need to go weedless. Nobody uses skirted bass jigs in the saltwater that I know of, but I think they should work for certain species like redfish or flounder. There are a bunch of jig type baits made for the saltwater that would definitely be good for bass, and a lot of bass stuff works in salty water. I recently found out about finesse versions of the Texas Eye jigs and I want to try them on my lighter rod that won't set the hook with the normal thicker hooks. Hopefully they'll stand up to 10 lb braid. On another subject, check out the Paul Brown "corky" twitch baits. They're awesome for trout and redfish but I think they'd be good for bass at times and they're interesting because they're plugs with trebled but they're soft and you can bend them. There's a wire harness inside and some cork, so it's not rigid. Bending the tail and nose down gives them a really good action. And you can retrieve them a lot of ways. I think bass would like the big eyes and the action. Another cool thing about them is that scents stick to them a lot better than hard plastic. They should be great for dirty water or schooling fish.
What I've seen fir finesse jigs are pretty much the same length as regular jigs. What makes it finesse besides a slightly thinner hook? Any jig can have a finesse cut and a cut off trailer.. is it the weight...some jewell finesse jigs are 7/16 and heavier. I've got a bunch of jigs but not much confidence in them, I throw a shakeyhead with the big TRD when I need a jig.
One thing that bother me over the years is loosing fish in all kind of situations with different types of baits, hooks, rod, line, etc. I know you've talked about how to minimize it here and there in various video. I hope you can make a video to give us the foundation of minimizing the frustration of loosing fishing. Much appreciate it.
Finesse jigs catches fish all year long. You have so much knowledge speaking right off your head. Is there any reason why you don’t have one video of you actually fishing on the water showing the angler shiv you say you are. Some things are just a blur optimistically. 👍

Why can’t you just let people use whatever type of line or combination of that they want and you do you! I see the BEST in the world and they use braid to fluro. If it comes down to you and Jacob Wheeler, guess who i think knows best You do you!
I use braid with mono leaders in the saltwater all the time. I want the casting distance and the sensitivity, and around docks the lack of stretch is definitely good. I don't think it would be good for trolling because I like the stretch of mono to absorb strikes. But around the Chesapeake Bay I use braid with mono leaders all the time and I don't have any issues with knots breaking.
Ive switched almost every reel I own to braid/leader and I'll never go back. I have straight fluoro on a couple ultra lights but I don't see a reason to use straight fluoro on anything else. The braid lasts almost forever, and I can cheaply switch the weight of the leader whenever I need to. There are plenty of easy to learn connection knots that are plenty strong enough. There really is no downside in my honest opinion...but to each their own I guess...

PB&J is my all time favorite colored jig. Works good in clearer water but you can also use it in dirtier water.

How come you don’t prefer living rubber over silicone for finesse jigs?
