You're putting it on backwards more often because of the way you put it down. I'd bet that you put it down and pick it back up the same way every time and however the shirt is positioned when you set it down sets everything up to end up with you putting it on backwards. Just put it down upside-down to how you normally do and see what happens.

Nature picking up your energy is very real imo. When I’m not fishing, I hunt a lot and see it time and time again.

I think people are running out of money and fishing is just becoming a luxury with a paywall and places are over pressured. Probably other projects going on, it’s an election year… just like the wind and currents drag the boat around, people are navigating uncharted territory and getting caught up in the weeds. Not to mention inflation and new technology, all this to say that perhaps instead of giving people fish we should start handing out fishing poles. Or perhaps RUclips just isn’t what it used to be. You might do well branching out to another media outlet like Tik-Tok. That would bring more people to your RUclips channel for the more long form content once you get them hooked 😋 Just some ideas or opinions…

I think hooks should still be checked and touched up. I sharpen as needed, and is often overlooked.

I try to practice in different currents within the inflow/outflow rivers of the lake. You will quickly learn how not to over compensate a minor steering touch of the trolling motor; river practice does improve your skills out on the less turbulent lake. Thanks Randy for the video!

I think this is good advice that I've never heard from anyone else before. Being a trout fly fisherman, this makes a lot of sense to me.

You are dead on-again Randy. I have approached cover in somewhat clear water (visibility is less then 8 to 10 feet) and saw bass spook away. I leave and return an hour or so later and approach at a better angle and quietly and they don't spook, even though I am about the same distance away and catch those fish. Like you say, you learn that with time on the water.

I was going to argue with your contention that Megabass jerkbaits were the best in class, then I remembered the only time I was truly sad I lost a jerkbait was a Megabass :-)

"the fish know you are there" In terms of stealth, why do we not talk about the bass seeing you as you approach? We know they track lures in the air and can strike a lure the moment it hits the surface. Fish see above the water... consider the archer fish for example. Why don't we wear clothing that reduces the contrast with the sky background? And, why of all colors... are bass boats black?

I like this. Also, if possible maybe some video of how you move these baits through the water. Maybe like in a pool or something so that we have just a bit more of a reference to what kind of action we should be imparting vs what kind of action we may be unintentionally putting on the bait. Just an idea

I realize this is something you likely don't want to hear but I don't think a channel called 'traditional bass fishing" will resonate with as many anglers as you think. You need to look at the demographics (if possible) of your subscribers. How many are 55 and older vs 40 and younger? Your older subscribers are always the ones who side with you that FFS is bad and we should get back to just the 'old ways' . I suspect you many more younger subscribers than you think but they don't post comments you you're not aware of what they want. Why are channels like Tactical Bassin and Mikey Balzz so popular? Because the6 tend to focus on current methods of catching fish given the realities of today's environment vs always trying to push things back to a s'simpler time'. Most younger guys don't want to think about the 'old ways of doing things' or 'traditional methods'. Younger people get excited about new things and the future. In the end, successful YT channels are run by creators who are passionate about what they want to do, not what others want them to do and accept the consequences, good or bad for their channel.

a lot of folks are out there fishing and catch content is always hot in season. bet come wintertime you will see a jump in views as folks start looking at the upcoming season.

I like the idea, but I’ve also enjoyed the current format of advanced angling. I subscribe to all three channels. I watch Intuitive and Advanced a lot more than the Fishing Teacher. I like the traditional idea because I am mostly a shore, kayak angler with no electronics. My son just took up the Youth BASS tournaments. We don’t have money for electronics so traditional methods are it for us.

Maybe make “Traditional” a separate channel if you can avoid overlap/repetition from the others.
