You absolutely know Randy is not bullshittin' about what he uses because 99% of the time it's still got a knot tied to it and it's always beat up looking so we know he is using what he speaks on! Thank you Randy
Great video! Im still running a floro lead on my set ups. I love the invisibility of floro and strength but can feel more sensitivity with braid. possibly because i have used braid for so long i have a feel for it. my problem with floro is its like piano wire and have problems with it spooling out or more backlashes. so i cant say ive used it much. does anyone else have this issue or tips on how to keep it tight? or maybe i just didnt work with it long enough to figure it out.
I'm starting to wonder if bass jigs would work for flounder. Rocks and structure with current are perfect for flounder, and weedless bass jigs might get stuck less than bucktails or soft plastic swim baits with jig heads. I'm going to find out. The stuff about line size was helpful. Thanks.
How do you have a change line size so fast.. Do you have lots of combos with different line sizes. Do you have different reels with different lines. May sound dumb. I rig up my line at home before I go to the lake. I put on 25 test on the reel. I get to the lake and gin clear. Should be using 12 to 15 to get my fall.rate faster. How do you change. Two rods combo, two reels. Or more set ups. Changing jigs sizes is easy. Changing size lines on your one Flipping stick that quickly, HARD.
Anyone know if spotted bass pick up jigs off the bottom? I've always thought of them as suspending fish....mostly hitting stuff on topwater or in the middle of the water column
Most of the spots I catch are picking up my Ned rig, jig or Carolina rig on the bottom. Sometimes a chatterbait just up off the bottom. I like my Lew's speed spool set up with bass pro shop's 15# braid tied straight to the jig. Sometimes with a 6 foot 12# flouro or mono leader. I throw my "C" rig on an abu garcia black max with 30#-40# braid and 12#-15# fluoro or mono leader. I'm no pro, but it works for me in my club tournaments. Hope Randy hooks you up.
To me it all has to deal with the thickness of the hook. I had issues with hooksets on some thicker hooks with straight 15-17 lb fluoro on a rod similar to the perfect pitch. FMJ and stiffer heavier line have helped a lot
Your Pussy footing around. I frog on that perfect pitch. Set the son of a bitch. You should have no problems setting any type of single hook. If you have the orochi perfect pitch. The other model, cheaper one is even softer than the orochii. He says not to do, which I don’t really agree with, but put braid on it.
Randy, if you are throwing a football jig in 6-12’ of open water with about 8-10’ of visibility, for 70+ degree water, what Oz jig and lb test florocarbon line are you throwing?
Just got back from White fish point area of upper peninsula Michigan. Talk about mosquitoes never have I seen so many!!! Long sleeves long pants head nets etc etc. Caught a lot of trout but no bass, but there’s a couple rivers with browns and small mouths. Next time gonna try that!!!
Until you hook into that giant and break him off. Why put it to chance and use anything less than 17lb test? Just my opinion and you're welcome to yours.
Hey Randy excellent video your teaching skills are straight up outstanding. God bless.
When Randy talks Jigs I listen!
Thanks Randy! Always appreciate any tips to help me become a better bass angler.

Get you a Thermocell for those bugs and they won't bother you anymore just a suggestion
Gonna get one👍
Randy brought those bugs from the old tackle room.

I agree, I love 17-25lb fluro with jigs.

Yes, spotted bass will eat jigs off the bottom, assuming that they are positioned near the bottom👍

More great information. Now, if I could just learn to flip.

Great video quick question do you have any updates on your finesse jig
Hopefully early this fall

Here is where I disagree. I'd rather down size weight of the jig rather than change line diameter and I never go above 12lb floro.

@@nicknormando4220 it's just a mental thing.
Wow that’s real light for jig fishing
Jig fishing with 12 pounds fluro hahahaha. Well for crappie it works well. Not for big fish up in the real cover. Get out of here dude
Yesirrrrr jig video
I’ve never been able to catch a fish on a jig.
Woo-hoo, I'm first😅
I always use , well, mostly. Primarily I'm throwing a 6lb test. It's versatile, and with enough drag I can land 80% of what's out there
