- Hi all. Watch our first Battle in Hive Secondus! See how magnificent Matt’s dice rolls are! See how beautifully painted the new Malstrains are! Thanks to Games Workshop for the sample too.

Fun battle report, no shaky camera and clear narration. Thank you. Would love more like this if possible.
Hiya. We will be doing more videos soon, but life seems to get in the way doesn't it lol. Thanks for your kind comments :)
Love this video. At 36 min you get two serious injuries that second one now gives a flesh-wound in the new rules and he would be out!
Ooooh. Must have missed that! Thanks!
It was never explicitly stated that spyrer rigs are Tau tech but in the first Tau codex there is a lexicon which contains words very similar indeed to the names of the spyrer types. Each of them is somewhat descriptive of the character of them : J'kaara = mirror, Mal'caor = spider, Or'es = powerful, Y'eldi = winged one
Thanks Ross! Good info!
That's SUPER interesting. Hmmmmmm.
Very interesting! I wonder tho, aren't the Spyrers older than the Tau Empire? Or did that change with the new lore?
Excellent battle report. couple of rules that were misread but doesn't detract badly from the quality camera and clear communication of what is happening in the game. Those Mini's also look absolutely awesome with the paintjobs! Making Batrep videos is tough and you guys did a bang up job!
Cheers Daniel! We will be making more soon :)
I truly never thought I would come across somebody who's dice rolls are as bad as mine. I feel better now so, you know, there's that. Great job.
lol. I once rolled 10 1&2s on a Apoc Missile Launcher shot in AT when trying to hit on a 3+
Thank you for the battle report. Those dice were horrendous, matching the horror-setting of Hive Secundus 😂
Please continue and upload more reports, if possible. Cheers.
Will do Mr. Thanks for the nice comment!
A pleasant walk through of the game, good watch. And cracking sound effects!
lol. Thanks for that. We will get a video of Rob C beatboxing in the future. 🤣
Imagine how the battle might have gone if the Spyrer actually hit with any of their attacks...
I know right! Utterly gutted.
Great vid guys, we need some more necromunda videos!
We need some Viking Fish in there! Want to do the whole Campaign now.
Hope you guys continue this mini campaign!
Think we will start it again to be honest. With proper terrain! :)
Nice work guys! It’s worth noting that stray shot is a centre-of-base-to-base 1” corridor between shooter and target, so the Van Saar wouldn’t have required a test around the 18:40 mark 👍🏻
Cheers Rosco. Thanks for pointing out! Hope you enjoyed it otherwise. We will get it right next time (hopefully).
Do tech hunters taste like chocolate? A hilarious game and some great voice acting for the genestealer. Om nom nom nom.
Thanks John. Appreciate the feedback. :)
@@BattleBunniesTV with the Alpha and another sprue of Malstrains you would have a really cool (in a totally hideous way) kill team. With those Van Saar models and some original gangers you could make all sorts of human kill teams.
Would enjoy seeing more of this campaign being played out,
I know others have mentioned the stay shot rules but there's a few other things that you've missed.
Van Saar have armoured body gloves, so a van saar in mesh has a 4+ base save.
Underhive gloom rule is applied to this campaign, max vision range for any non orrus / genestealer is 6 inches (A few bits of gear can modify this).
Makes brood scum especially have to get a little too close for comfort.
Thanks Tarosk.
We will try to get the rest of the campaign played out :)
Nice report
Thanks GuCa. Really appreciated.
Good job guys. I think you may be interpreting the stray shot rule. It's "Within 1” of the measured line (between attacker
and target). A couple of times there was a model withn 1" but actually slightly behind the model being targted. (Van Saar both times) They cannot be hit.
Cheers man. Thanks for pointing out! Hope you enjoyed it otherwise.
Great report hopefully ur doing all the scenarios
Hiya Puppy. We would like to, and will be running the campaign through shortly. We have some large projects we are working on though at the moment which may delay it.
The Orrus' shooting seems like maybe it's better to just charge asap rather than trying to shoot. Looks like fun - can't wait to get my copy. Are their rules in the book for using the other spyrers for this campaign?
Hiya Dirty. Only rules for Orrus in this book. Expect the other rules in the corresponding book coming soon. It got to a point where I just needed to hit something with my guns and was getting stubborn about it lol.
@@BattleBunniesTV I know how that goes... it's the principal ;)
To be fair to the Orrus - the Volkites are, mathematically, the worst gun he can equip by far.^^
@@THeMightyWarHamsterbugger.... I've built them because they're simply way cooler than bolters.
So well painted, any painting vids for those awesome genestealers?
Hiya. I think we have the recipe written up in the comments. Hope that helps?
is it just me or are ya forgetting the armored bodyglove on the van saar?
Didn’t pay for it as far as I am aware. Even the heavy chaps we just bought Mesh Armour for.
@@BattleBunniesTV its part of the tek hunter price they come with it from the get go
Hiya. Armoured Bodyglove comes as standard. So yup we missed that out too! Thanks for pointing it out 😊
Hi guys first time viewer. Do you think this box set is a good time and place for a noob to dive into necromunda ??
Hiya. Two answers to this really.
1) Yes. Though the Gang and the rules in the box for the Van Saar are specifically designed for the enemies in the box. It contains the rules you need for the box too. So if you find you don’t like the rules, then you at least have a stand alone game.
2) No. if you want to play Necromunda in a broader form, I would suggest the boxed game Hive War (if you like Delaque or Escher).
OR, buy the Rulebook and a Gang you really like the look of.
i have been trying to find out if the malstrain is a new gang with levelling up or are they just for the campaign included ?
Hi Trevor. I believe they have rules for the gang in the book which is coming soon :)
hi guys, great battle report. How did you get the grey for the genestealer cultists skin tone? And also, how did you get the grey for the tek-hunters? lovely painted minis, btw.
Hiya. Here we go:
Administratum grey base layer
AK interactive brown wash
Drybrush celestra grey
Coelia green villainy ink.
That’s the main colours for the beasts!
Flesh tearers red contrast
Tamiya red gloss
Garahgaks sewer constrast
Build it up slowly using the contrast paints first, then the gloss when it's dried to the point of being a bit sticky.

Another noob question can you get terrain to fill in the gaps on the board. Seen plasma generators but what about the wall sections?
Hi Andy. You can always buy more scenery to fill the gaps. I believe the Wall Sections are the right size too.
But if you buy the game, you may decide to buy the 3D tiles instead, and then the walls on top of that. :)
What's up with so many 1s being rolled :D
I know. Must be dodgy new dice! 🎲 😬
At 6.40 you do a stray shot, that isnt how it works. Its 1 inch of the imaginary line of the shot. Youd already said that it was a cool check as he was further away so you shouldnt have had that hit
Thanks Daniel. Hope you enjoyed the game otherwise.
Can you make a shoot action after making a fight action?
Think so. Will check tonight :)
How big are the play mats?
@@virusofnurgle6896 good question. I believe each is 2ft by 1.5ft. So 2ft by 3ft gaming area.
@@BattleBunniesTV so that’s what 2 packs of the zone mortalis tiles
audio levels i like to watch but i like my ear drums more.
Ok. Sorry if it was too loud for you.
the gaming mat looks like a odd size do you have mesurements ?
Hiya. 2ft by 1.5ft. X2 if I remember properly. If so it’s a good size for Necromunda.
@@BattleBunniesTV thanks
that was a good game you played till the spyara died it was all over plus you were wondering if you can play this lot in a normal game with some rules change. yes you can but what change is there van saar doc can restore a model in the rest time that be a no in normal game till you play secudus again but I would keep the 1or2 - for the sniper that would make him a 6 to hit him
Thanks Steve. Appreciated.
Hey. Hey you! Yes you there! I AM THE FIRST COMMENTER AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!!!!
Congratulations 🎉
GREAT VIDEO!!! FUN TO WATCH.
But I think that Box is just too expensive. $10 worth of plastic, a book, cardboard, and a couple of pieces of paper. Hard card playing tiles would have been better...not paper. And that terrain is naff. And that price is waaay too expensive these days. I can't spend that money on something that will probably go unpainted and unbuilt and just add to my PILE OF SHAME!!! Sorry GW, too little for too much.
Hiya. The way I normally weigh it up is, how many hours of hobby / gaming time am I gonna get out of it. Take the box cost, then divide by the hours.
I do think in general, board games costs across the board are very expensive nowadays, and I know that hard card is more expensive to make. It does feel more stripped back compared the Underhive box which was released many years ago, but the same can be said for most products on sale in supermarkets (smaller Cartons and less product weight, but same cost). It’s shrinkflation.
This will keep me busy for a long time. ☺️
But I agree, prices need to go down. Games Workshop needs to maintain its quality too instead of watering it down/skimming the cream (like this Hive Secundus Box content, compared to the Necromunda Underhive box), to maintain it as a premium product.
@BattleBunniesTV I have an original copy of Space Crusade, and that does have a great hard card board to play on. It holds up so much better.
I like your rational approach, though.
You would probably get more views if you spell the name of the game correctly…
Mate. Thanks for that! Just edited.
