If I made rules for runs that use a different save file, the setup would be considered part of the run. That way, if a strategy is found that takes less time overall, it could still count. Wouldn't be very useful for this run, but I could see it working in longer runs.
Every time you do any sort of tutorial/voice-over video it's really awesome. Dying in the prologue under 50 seconds is an insane feat that I didn't think was possible. Special thanks to Timber and the larger speedrunning community, it's awesome finding ways to experiment with this silly little game.
Love this kind of video idea! Any chance there's a way to do it faster maybe by zloting a few bombs and a ruby or something? Since you lose time having to wait for the stun lock to be done and then throwing another topaz.
I could definitely see there being a faster way to die using glitches that transfer through saves. I'm not sure if you could get hit by a ruby and bombs at the same time since Link does get some invincibility once he gets hit but I also didn't try it so maybe it works.
In a real run setting, time would start from RoA and I've done runs with this timing. There is actually a faster way to kill link than climbing really high and it matches the time taken with the ZLOT method which I was quite excited to see be used
Ooh how else do you die in RoA? And yeah a die% category extension would start from RoA, but I was interested in seeing the glitchless comparison between keese and intro to give an idea of just how slow the keese are.
There's a root just next to where you land from CS that sticks out over the ledge enough when you jump up it so that you can dive back onto the ledge and take one heart of damage and it's really quick to get back on so the damage taking process is barely 10 seconds. ruclips.net/video/I8HFd0Uj43Y/видео.html How close all the methods you used really surprised me how fast they were, even the keese were faster than I expected they'd be
I don't know what you mean by credits. This isn't a real category so there isn't an official WR and I listed the credit for the ZLOT glitch. Also I am Player5 in case that wasn't clear and all the footage here is my own (I might be misunderstanding since I used Google translate).
The only fire in the intro is the torch that Zelda holds which afaik can't burn Link since you have to stand in it for a long enough period of time to get hurt. There might be a way but I didn't think of it.

@@giriiko I used the ZLOT glitch to transfer a bundle of wood into the intro from a different save file and then threw it through the torch flame so that there would be a campfire next to Zelda to die in.
OK but hear me out. 50% speedrun. You complete exactly 50% of the game according to the map. Completing more is fine(you just time yourself when the 50% happens) but completing less is not. The routing of this would be crazy considering all koroks, locations, shrines, etc all contribute towards it.
Oh my gosh I love this idea! Balancing things that count a lot towards the count and things that don’t would be super interesting to run due to all the different approaches :O

You can take fall damage in the intro because you can get enough height to dive
Where do you get enough height to dive in the intro (excluding out of bounds since that's a separate case)?

If you go out of bounds in the intro and dive straight into the void, you will die of fall damage after a 40 second dive or something
it will just void out and place link back in the intro tunnel, he won't take fall damage
