One thing I adore Kimi Raikkonen so much: he was very poor, jis family is very poor and they didn't even have an inside toilet in their house. His dad worked as a street cleaner and a taxi driver. Kimi needed to proof himself all the time he got in a car. He was always very much tested. Kimi has also silently donated to poor children's charities.

Ya know that when a celebrity endorses a charity, that's worth a lot to the charity! Now you can criticize the way he's doing it, that's your opinion, but I don't understand how Hamilton talking about it is inherently a bad thing. 2 years at that age makes a lot of difference. I just checked their respective height.
Max is now 10 cm taller than Lando.
When this photo was taken, Lando was 13 and Max 15 years old. It's not so surprising that Max is a "head" taller than Lando.
Don't know how you remember yourself at that age, but in a very short period of time, you grow up very fast.

Lando just didn't grow until he was like 15, in other pictures you can see he's also a lot shorter than other people his age at that time. And he was also still growing a bit when he started in f1, he's just a bit of a late bloomer.
The picture I'm reffering to was in his karting days where he's standing next to Max Fewtrell (who is the same age as him) and he is a good head shorter, but now he is slightly taller than Max, so it all evened out.

It's not like Mazepin, who barely cracked the top 4 in his championships and still got promoted to the next levels. Lando earned his seat in every single championship he has raced in. I like Lando because he's a great driver and brings some joy and comedy to the grid. He takes his racing extremely seriously but he also provides fun to the sport when he's not driving. He's not just racing, going home and taking his father's money. He has his own Twitch and RUclips network that he built with friends. He's extremely humble and I think that's amazing with someone as young as him and as successful he has been/will be. His parent's seem like they let him be independent and only give him what he needs and he fills the rest in. Like they gave him the ability to start racing but he took that and ran with it and it became his passion. He then found Twitch and RUclips does that now and streams with his friends.

There is a slight difference between coming from a family comfortably being able to pay for karting - which is a very expensive hobby - and your family sponsoring or buying an F1 team for you to race in. Still, neither money nor surname can drive a car, and you do need a portion of talent and ability to do well enough to earn the licenses needed to get to the higher ranks of racing. No super license no F1 seat, basically.
Yes, there are probably better drivers than Mazepin, Latifi and maybe Stroll who have lost the opportunity due to less funding, I won't disagree to that, but without their funding we might (and would in the case of Stroll) have lost teams on the grid. And that wouldn't have been nice either.

The Lances, Landos and Nicoloases of the world had so much money to help them get the best of everything and participate in the best of series. As a result, they became very good drivers. Another thing is that F1 started from pay drivers back in the 1950s

Tommo , you are spot on. Lando when doing a long interview said he was very grateful to his dad for supporting his early career but he never wanted to be a pay driver and wanted to be in F1 on merit and his dad didnt pay anything to Mclaren and as you say Mclaren wanted him on his obvious talent and results.

Stroll is an f3 champion and managed to put Williams on a podium I rate lance and his talent

The question that nobody seems to be able to answer is: are there more talented drivers out there who are being overlooked in favour of paid drivers? *That* is the reason that fans dislike the idea of paid drivers. We want to see the best drivers in F1 cars, period.

I like how people still call Lance a pay driver when he is the only one on the grid to this day to get a podium in a Williams

There’s a difference between convincing sponsors/racing program of a car companies to fund your racing and get you opportunities, it’s another for your family to directly just send pallets of cash to F1 teams to help them see your “talent”

I think the pay driver aspect comes from the fact that many people who like f1 come from more humble backgrounds and like every f1 fan, we all dream of being a driver, so they might have some sort of resentment towards the money that some drivers have from family.

Fantastic video man! I ACTUALLY liked, favorited and subscribed. I truly couldn’t agree more and appreciate the reminders 1) The quality and accomplishments of the drivers and 2) what really makes Formula 1 tick, and why that’s so special. Bravo!

almost all drivers had a rich family, forget worrying about "pay drivers" and shine light on drivers who came from zero like hamilton
