  • This FurgoK VW campervan conversion is the most original I have ever seen. The idea is to hide the washroom in order to create space. I think this works - although I appreciate those with more conservative ideas may not like it!
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my RUclips channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Dreamer, Itineo, Rapido, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Karmann Mobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Bocklet, Woelcke,Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Murvi, Bliss, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow, Holzmobil, Giotti Line, Florium, Fleurette, Ahorn, Westfalia, Space Camper, Orange Work, Concorde, Womondo, Protec, Auto Sleeper, Dethleffs, Ilusion, Gehocab, Malibu, Pilote, Wild Ax, Vantage, Bresler, Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik, Morelo, Swift, Carado and others.
I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

That's really good! I totally agree with the collapsing bathroom idea because as the man says, you only use the bathroom for short periods in the day and yet it takes up a huge amount of room. You only have to divide a section of the van as they have done and then the bathroom can be there. Really, they did a great job. Everything else is first class as well, the bed going up and down at the back, really good. Very original and very good indeed.
€81,000 takes it into Wingamm territory. I think personally I'd still get a Wingamm if I had that kind of lolly myself, but many would opt for this and I can see why they would.

The folding shower tray is a very well considered feature, and their execution of the fold away/expanding shower room is outstanding.

Killer way to put in a bathroom. It takes the folding sink to the next logical step. Genius. He should be as proud of the bathroom design as he is. Very ingenuous The hidden toilet and the shower show a grasp of design that many van designers never get to. The inside of the bed looks a little plastic and could be warmer if they introduced some different materials as accents. That said, such accents are expensive and they seem to have done some nice work on the price.

An interesting van, nice to see some new ideas.
But an extra £30k to have a foldaway bathroom and a built-in screen seems an odd way to spend the money. While the Great Reset rumbles on and people discover that emulating a pincushion was 'unwise', simple things like solar, water tank size and other basic considerations like long range diesel tanks would be more useful. The biggest space saver is to go to a coachbuilt lift-up bed over the lounge, and it allows a decent sized washroom that doesn't disappear during cooking times.
Also the VW, I really want to like it, but they suck for campers - too narrow - and are overpriced.
What would be really really cool, and require decent design ideas, is an amphibious camper: but I don't think the stuffy bureaucrats and bankers would allow it to exist, only on Top Gear does that work!

    • @lesleywall4186
      @lesleywall4186 2 года назад +5

I think that the point of this design is to give the owner more day-time space, because he is in a place where it rains a lot and living the outdoors is not easy. As a RUclipsr he needs a comfortable space to work. Using the passenger seats as a workplace would mean that when it is time to eat you have to clear everything away, which is so tedious. However, having an area with a table and seating at the front means that you can eat comfortably in 3/4 people if necessary. Anyone who lives in Britain, where it rains a lot, will tell you that a dinette space and a lounge space are what makes RVing in Britain feasable.

Wow brilliant design. I love when something new is revealed like this rather than the same old layouts. If I were designing that I would have a chill out sofa/table and tv in rear (similar to the Spanish brand "Bunkervan") and just leave the 2 person drop down bed above. I' would also want a larger fridge not sure where the toilet would go then. One question...is it hygienic having a toilet so close to a fridge like that? The shower I imagine would not be 100% waterproof but it would be no big deal drying up a little water with a microfiber cloth or something if any got out onto the floor- a small price to pay for such a clever space saving design. Price is a little high but not unexpected for a VW. Congrats to the team who designed this lovely van.

This is the van for those that love to spend hrs faffing around on the camp site.
My MM is only 20cm longer and has a full size separate shower, with a huge garage under the bed that can easily accommodate x4 adult bikes, x2 kayaks, awning and lots more.
    No thanks

The bathroom is just too fiddly, you could justify it in a transporter but why go through all that hassle to end up taking a dump in your fridge!
