Smashing the ball into a player that conceded the point from behind is not acceptable. If he had a problem with Nole's attitude for whatever reason, have a word like a man. Don't hit him in the back. Like a coward. That is low.
      You can love Norrie all you want, but what he did was despicable. Imagine if it had being the other way around. What would you have said.

      Norrie was literally humiliated by Djokovic at last year's Wimbledon semifinal in front of home crowd. He realized the first set he won was a courtesy free gift from Djokovic. After that he didn't get a single break point in last 3 sets.

    On the one hand, Novak should not turn his back during the point like that. I have not seen that before. On the other hand, Norrie is a highly skilled pro. He knew where Novak was on the court, and he has the accuracy to hit it elsewhere for a winner.

      Part of tennis is to turn your back when opponent has a sitter like that. It means you concede the point and will not try to return it. Every tennis playet knows that.     This is why I'm in favor of making a rule against turning your back on a point. It can be used as a cheap distraction and results in situations like this.

      The issue here is not facing your back, but purposefully hitting your opponent's leg on an easy shot, and not apologizing in a proper manner. Novak said in the press conference, Norrie wasn't being fair play during the entire match, not just in that moment. He's friendly with him and didn't understand why he acted this way today.

Only a blind player would hit Novak while the entire court is open, or someone who isn't being fair play since the beginning of the match as Novak said in the press conference.
