    There is nothing more satisfying as removing masking on a car or aircraft model kit and seeing how great it looks

    Absolutely impressive!!! Your work is an inspiration! I have once the Testors Ferrari 288 GTO as a teenager but was lost during moving. Now I am 52 and feel moved to build it again after watching your video. Thanks for sharing!

    For me it is also one of the best Ferraris, by design. A good paint job, spectacular how fine and shiny the paint is.
    Where can you buy those Finisher's paints? I want to try them and they don't export them to my country. I live in Spain. Thanks and regards

      I got finisher's paints on internet..and I found it's easier to get in Asia..
      Mr.color (lacquer base) C series is also a good choice..and they are much more easy to bought in worldwise...

    Have had the Fujimi version of the 288 GTO recommended to me by fellow hobbyists, completed the 80’s Italeri version earlier this year. Superb results here!

      unfortunately..this version of 288 gto model doesn't include engine...
      Relatively...I'm quite happy...after all, I know nothing about engines and I'm not very interested....

    I liked the seatbelt detail. You could be in Scale Auto Enthusiast with details like that. 3D decals.. new one for me. Look great.

      thank you very much!!😊the decal I used got a thick clear resin coat on it, so it looks shiny and more three-dimensional..I like this effect 😄

    You did it justice! The 288 GTO is also my favorite Ferrari. I have the Fujimi kit but it has an engine and the body is molded in red plastic. I want to paint my yellow and I am not sure how to avoid the bleed through. Thank you for sharing your build, I will for sure use it as reference when I decide to start my 288 GTO. Cheers!

      I realize this question is 2 years old, but for future reference, pink primer is an ideal undercoat for yellow. It sounds counter-intuitive, I know, but it is the best way to go when painting yellow. Yellow over red would be horrible. Test it out for yourself on scrap plastic first and you will see what I say here is true.

    Amazing, at first I thought you made a mistake by coloring the windshield pillars black, but then I saw they really are black on the 288 GTO.

      the engraving tool is from Mr.hobby GT65 Mr.Line Chisel w/0.3mm and 0.2mm Engraving Blade..they are quite handy.😊

    Hey there! Gorgeous mode you just build! I have a question if i may, when you say thinning ratio, e.g. Is it 1 part thunner and 2 parts of paint? Or the ither way around?

      thinning ratio 1:3 means 1part of paint:3parts of thinner and so on...

      the tool is a P.E set for apply C.A glue(you can search hobby web store for it ),I made some custom of it... a handy tool!!😄

    Awesome paint. It looks like that kit would allow for an engine to be installed. Did Fujimi offer an engine kit for it?

      I recently bought this kit and it included the engine. Although the manual did not included the engine build, so it was quitte a challenge to build the engine. The parts did not fit that well.
      The kit also had a seperate trunk and hood.

      this kit got some spare parts.they looks like for the engine, some how the instruction dose not mention about it..I don't know why..maybe Fujimi got issues about engine..

    Mr Lin, please can I ask about your primer technique with Mr Surfacer 1200? How many primer coats do you do? Do you do spray mist and wet coats? Thank you.

      hi, I spray primer just like paint, but just a bit thinner,I usually make sure the object is totally covered by primer,in normal condition, two layer of them would be fine ..😊

    I find your dry coat/wet coat technique very very interesting. Do you dry coat so that the wet coat has something to grab and doesn't run ?

      Excellent project! Btw, just want you to share how to avoid rough surface when air spray painting? Is the thinner not enough ?

      thank you!!😊I usually thinning down the paint(about 1 part paint to 3-3.5 part thinner ),lower the air pressure(about 10-15 PSI),and shorten the distance between the object and airbrush..Of course the humidity and temperature of the environment are also key..I will make "tips and tricks"videos to discuss tools and skills I used in future...stay tuned 😊

      it is pitty this version of 288 gto model doesn't include engine...😔,fujimi got another version which included engine...I can't find it...
