Wow, that turned out awesome. The cool thing about models is you can paint them anyway you want or build them to your own satisfaction. By the way, you have lovely nails.
Sweet ride as some of the you tube people say don't worry about what others say build your models the way you want to don't let anyone tell you how the model should be built or painted, build for you.
I'm sure somebody already commented on this, but I just wat he'd it and in a Google search, almost every '55 I saw , the light color was on the rear. Beautiful ride.
Hey Matthew, you nailed that 55, she looks awesome, I'm thinking you should have played some chuck berry on your slide show. Ha ha. But I still gotta say the 57 was the queen. Keep up your great inspirational work buddy.....🇬🇧😋😎
I am so glad I found your site. What a beautiful build. I have the exact same issue of this model that I have not finished building. You have given me a lot of great ideas. Congratulations!
Your 55 came out awesome, I love it. The person who said the white should be on the front was wrong. I have a 1 to 1 55 hardtop that came red and white from the factory and it is painted like yours. .Such a beautiful build. Ron
This is hilarious . I am working on a 35 year old kit I decided to open up a couple of weeks ago. Monograms 55 Chevy Gasser .Its going good. I have 3 kits I am building alternately. 55 Gasser, 641/2 Stang, and 69 Cougar Eliminator. I CANNOT build one kit at a time. I give plenty of time for paint and glue to dry. So, while drying, it's off to another kit .
I'm building this same kit as I speak. I agree completely. Monogram nailed it with this one. So far every piece has fit excellent. I went with auto enamel seacrest green metallic/white. Great looking kit!!
Aloha Matthew, Great build! I believe I have a 55 rear bumper advertised as an amt 1/25 scale. I can send it to you if you want. It didn't work for me anyway. Let me know. Keep up the great work! Steve
I have a diecast but a hardtop of the same exact colors, red front, white rear so it's correct, looks awesome, I believe the boot would look better in a creamy white or red but it's your beautiful car so keep it that way. This is my favorite 55 Bellair color scheme. 👍🏻👍🏻 I ❤ it!!!
That’s a top notch build right there. I built a monogram 50 Ford truck from the same era and it was a pleasant build as well. Monogram really got it right .
That's a hell of a nice build, it's a great old kit, I have the Revell Germany recent reissue of the Indy pace car 55 and that has a standard back bumper.
Its Your build Matt, whatever makes You happy, I have the very same kit, I am going to build from Cheech and Chong's movie Nice Dreams, looks about like the box art. Yes every so often I run into that dash problem, test fit twice, glue once. Model on Dude!
Beautiful car! I'll major on '69 cars and trucks, just because that's the year I was born. But I will include cars I like, such as cars from '55 and '57. I've got a kit of an '86 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS because I love that car in that body style (I hate the newer version with the car's lines rounded off). I'll paint it in my favorite color scheme that I've seen on them, black car with red trim. Both my parents and my in-laws had a '66 VW Beetle so I've got one of those to do. I may get a kit of a car that I owned at one time if I see a kit at the right time.
Great build video and a great result. That kit was my first build on joining the modeling community. Seems like a long time ago but, it's only seven builds ago. Thanks for showing us a very nice build.
Fantastic build, looks great! I agree with you on Continental kits, I hate em too! I agree with you on 55 vs 57, I like the 55 better. Another option for clear parts that I use is Aleen's Tacky glue, clear, good stuff.
Matthew, I agree with you 100% that the ‘55’s are the best looking of the Tri-5 Chevies, even though you are icky and gross. That build is spot on. Nice job. You need to quit building kits that I have in my stash, because I want to drop what I’m working on and build this now. Love your color choice. 👍
That guy might want to let Chevrolet, as well as all of the owners, know that they’ve been painting their cars incorrectly, because the internet is full of them painted just like yours. Dark in front, light in back.
Fantastic build! I always wanted to build the pace car version, same colors. Brings back memories.I had the real car in high school except it was the 2 door bel air hardtop, same colors! Red in front and white in back. Appreciate what you do in producing your videos.
You always build great models, but this one turned out AMAZING! I like the 55 just as much as the 57, both have classic styling. Keep up the good work.
Dang matt I have been messing up glass for years. Now I am going out and getting some of that modge podge stuff. Stop being so negative on yourself bro, you did an outstanding job on that car. To me it looks great. Really like the colors you picked out for that year. But maybe you could paint that other top the same white as the car. Again great job
@@modelcarvideos5829 I have one that took me years to find, I'm thinking of placing it in worthy hands, a bit pricey but in the right hands, it would be a gift.
I DONT LIKE IT…….. I Love It!! it’s amazing. Beautiful!! a piece of art. I have a different perspective on the 55 .you did a perfect job! I will now look for this kit and try to build up something close to yours. It’s stellar 👍👍👍👍👍🤘
I Chris, frank here I came across your comment and saw you are Building a 300B. I’m looking for a 1960 300f. I was wondering if you know anyone who makes it. Thanks
@@frizzosmodels I don’t know for sure man. I know this Chrysler is a mobieus kit I’ve never saw one but doesn’t mean there isn’t one out there man. I wish you luck finding it though and if I happen to see one out there. I’ll let you know for sure.
That turned out really nice looking. You do a good job especially with the body paint. As far as I know for two tone paint jobs you have a primary and a secondary color. Either color could be primary usually. So you could have had a red front and white back or vice versa. Some color combinations the factory may decide only look good one way though. I'm not sure, but I think that's the way Ford did it and GM and Mopar are probably similar. I've seen several custom interiors where they paint the dash body color and the rest of the interior is tan leather or something. Gives it a nice mild custom look I think.
I was born in 57. I agree with you 55 iz the best of the tri 5 👍👍👍👍🙏
And, Yes, it is a very Beautiful build! Thank You for sharing with Us!
Thanks
All of the tri 5s are beautiful.
Wow!!
Wow, it looks like a Die-Cast car🤘
I built this 55 Bel Air and used all water based acrylic paint. It came out beautiful.
Cool!
I agree about the continental spare don't care for them. Awesome build love the colors keep up the good work 👌.
Sweet! U really captured the beauty and styling of this legendary car. 👍👍👍
Thanks Gary!!

Beautiful! Great job
You build a beautiful model my friend! Thank you for sharing! 👍👍
Thanks Tony!! The 442 is on the bench

Thanks Michael!
I had the same problem when I tried to paint emblems, I went online and learned about " dry brushing "- give it a shot
That was me about the alternator. 😄 Monogram did do it right with this one.
Lol!!
I like the way you painted and assembled the 55Chevy! Your color combination and placement look outstanding to me. So good job!!
Thanks Alvin!!
I enjoy your videos. The laid. Ack style is easy to watch. I hope you keep doing them for a while.
I plan on it!!
Awesome!!
You really hit the ball out of the park with this one!! GORGEOUS!
Thanks Thomas!!
Your 55 looks Great Mathew!!! I think you made the right choice on the tan interior. Beautiful Build!!!

It turned out great. They did make a version of that kit without the continental kit.bits the pace car version. The color placement is correct.
Thanks!!
Matt I have the Indy Pace Car kit and it is painted just like yours so the paint style is correct. Awesome build. Now I need to finish mine.
Thanks!!

Remind Beginners the #1 Rule of model building is always test fit,"refine or fix, refit & repeat until perfect
We called them cozy wings.
Nice paint on that 55
Thanks David!!
Hes right I always preferred the 55 over the 57 bel air. If I got a 57 project car I'd be putting a 55 front end on it to see how it looks
I know you do not like the spare tire but back in 55 that was classy look
Great build!! I've heard of using 'silicone' brushes for small detail painting....the brushes are actually 'Silicone Clay Sculpting Tool'.
She's a beauty nice job
Thanks!!
06:05 am Thanks for the tip on painting the Belaire letters! Doing letters drives me nuts. I've been using the Molotow markers with limited success.

turn out great i also like the 55 more than the 57 i own a real 55 whitch was my drag car for almost 30 years
Very cool!! Have you started the 55 yet?
@@modelcarvideos5829 no not yet doing a bike build right now with 2 other guys
I'm with you. I prefer the '55 over the '57. Even the '56 is better. I also like the '55 cameo and Apache pick 'em up trucks a lot.
👍🏻👍🏻
Monogram also did an Indy pace car version of this kit.
I have this model for 25 years + , have not get to it yet lol
I used Elmers all the time, then I started using Mod-Podge, I think its better.
You still have that blue drag car from your junk box? Love to have it. Please let me know. Thanks. 👍

Actually, the real car did have a fuel door.
55 was the only tri 5 that did have the fuel door in the side. The rest were in the tail light
The oil filter is blue and orange.
