You can’t do a real VGG revival in 16min…
GIVE ME THE 2 HOUR VERSION!!
lol - don't worry but derek posts 1+ hour long episodes all the time over at VGG's youtube chanel - lol
@@fennec13 I have watched his entire library.
Ooof-da!
Yes, every video
it’s a whole 7 bucks a month 😂
@@440Nichole7.2 nah. Not happening. I’ll stick with the endless RUclips content
@@440Nichole7.2 7 bucks what a rip off.
The "Bandit" was such a fun build for me!
Me too, obviously!
Boy that master cylinder looked like a nightmare! Really nice work on that one Derek!
Wish we could stream it from the App but now it's junk... Complete Junk... Like most parts these days as we all know. We love you Derek Beerrrieerrei(is how I pronounce your name to people's) truth. Can you please talk to your MotorTrend people's for us Fans so we can stream it from the App once again like we all could before the Good for nothing needs to Go 'update' they just did. Please man. We beg you!!!!!
The master cylinder on most chevrolet car and trucks are terrible. I have a 1946 chevrolet truck and it took a can of wd40, heat and a lot of cussing.
The time to worry is if Derek ever says he has a plan.
When Derek says "that was waay too much" us VGG fans gotta say "perfect!" It's involuntary!
This is true, I do that.
I know and I was almost a little upset when he didn’t say it! 😂
@@beezlebub3955it probably got edited out just like the rest of the normal process. Going from the front seat straight to the power barn without looking in the trunk for engine parts first just isn't right.
@@chucksherron yea he was so discombobbled on this one, is Derek ok?? Lol
hey motor trend.
Derek is the best guy you got out of all of your channels.
We all want to see more of him!
Why did you edit this down so hard?
We want to see Derek, Jessica, Bradley, Bentley, and Bailey.
Right now!
Heck! I think vice grip garage is better than your whole net work :-)
Edit: oops, I forgot Motor!!! the shop lion!
Sorry Motor ! :-)
This is just a "quick glance" so people pay for MotorTrend to watch the rest, if you want to see more of this, you have to pay.
This!
@@j.d.8593 Why! when I can see him on his own channel for free and uncontrolled by penny pinchers
They have a full version. You just got to pay for it. That's why they do what they do.
so you will subscribe to their yearly subscription and see the full episode.
I love the Long Form Vice Grip Garage content. Not this 20 min type stuff. We know it edits out all the little details that are important and motivational.
When I was growing up, my Dad flew from our home in Upper Michigan down to Texas on a business trip. Instead of flying home, he drove... in a '51 Chevy "hardtop convertible" (which wasn't really a convertible, but had the LOOKS of a convertible) just like the one you have here. He was amazed when he got it home. "That car didn't burn a single drop of oil!" I have really fond memories of being in that car with my Dad.
"Son, are you prepared to engage FULL CRUISE MODE?!"
"YEAH!"
On the command "Engage!" we would furiously roll the windows down, and then make a big show of leaning back in the seats as we slowly rolled down the streets of town.
I miss that car. And I miss my Dad.
I know how you feeling...for me it was a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic...and my Dad...i miss him ...Life is good... but it was better when your dad had your back :)...
@@grinningCat531Word. Precious, precious stuff.
“I gave up once” hit me directly in the funny bone!😂😂😂Thank you for consistently bringing us such entertaining content. I enjoy your content immensely. Well done!
Derek is a natural.....love this and VGG 👍
Talk about patience! This guy has way more than most, not to mention knowledge & skill. You're a pleasure to watch.
Great job Derek! I cannot believe your persistence! Always a pleasure to see your work!
Derek , my first car was a 51 Chevy . My dad and I put new floors in the front. With Old metal truck signs he had gotten from where he was working.i drove it to school.bought it from my uncle for $25.00. I love that old car. that was around 1961 or two. Love your videos and rescues.
The play on words make this so much better great personality
Getting Derek on MotorTrend is such a win for MT.
Brings back High School days in 67. Had a 51 convertible. Yours is in slightly better shape. Thanks for the memories.
Great video. Had a 52 back in the old days. Loved it. Thank you for the memories.
Derek makes everything better!
Now that was a cool rescue Derik. I have always liked the profile and looks of that year Deluxe.
Same..great looking car, nice lines not toobig or small. Real USA steel in these..imagine being a body guy back then and having to hammer and dolly that thick stuff, yikes!
Wanted to let Derek know that my first car was a 1950 Chevrolet DeLuxe 4-door sedan. There was more chrome on the inside than the outside. Even had a tube-type radio...it had to warm up before you could hear anything. They are great cars.
What an incredible car !
3 speed powerglide baby wooooohooooooo!
Sparkalators and ignition sticks, it's a joy to watch someone who knows what they are doing! Oh yeah he MADE it run and drive. Great job again!!!
Loved it. I love the old cars. Really love the old 3 on the tree. Thanks Derek.
Removing the master cylinder - impressive job!
Need to do more shows with Derek from vice script garage.
He is hilarious and makes the show entertaining.
Derek can fix anything 🎉
هذا الرجل عبقري ومبدع في عمله شكرا على هذا العمل
The best channel ever for car content
Thank you!
The very best and only channel on the ol youtube with regards to anything with an engine is VGG.
I was born in 1951, so that car is 72 years old. Cheers from eastern TN
Derek best people video regarding cars.
Derek is the best thing on RUclips. I think it's easy to see that the GM under floor location for the master cylinder was less than convenient. Even in California were I'm from rust made removal a challenge. The fact that you did not have a hanging break pedal was not worth the complications associated with the geometry.
You have to remember that floor mounted brake pedals are a throwback to the days of mechanical brakes and LONG linkage rods along the frame. When they converted to "juice brakes" they left everything else alone.
This was a fun video to watch. I get so jealous of the amount of "barn finds" for these types of old cars you have in the USA. Keep it up. Real pleasure to watch.
In Australia where I live it sucks cars are worth like 10-15k AUSD or more. And any good cars are 20k plus dirty rigs that’s aren’t very popular are less
Derek is the man! Love his show and youtube channel
Nothing beats VGG. Watching this, makes me appreciate the real thing. No offense Derek, buut stick with your channel. Much better. But loved the revival nonetheless.
I know what I'm watching when I get home. The complete episode! Derek, as always you did your thing. Both my kids think we are related. I don't over think repairs, just get them done!
Congratulations on all of your Success Derek. You deserve it. Your a "Movie Star" now 👍👍👍
No one deserves it more. He’s patriotic and seems to really care about his family, and enjoys his work. We need more of these guys!!!
I wanted a Corvette so my dad in '61, bought me my very first car, just like this one. He paid $47 and I named it the "Rat" cause it wasn't a Corvette. Had a blast learning about cars and even took the engine out to hone the cylinders, valve job and re-shim the bearings. Did it need it no, but I did it. Found a '55 Chevy Bel Air convertible rolling chassis and sold the Rat to one of my friends. That was a looooong time ago.
Thanks sir!
I have been watching you since you had like 100 subscribers.
This is a special one. 44 years.
All new brake system. You must have had a lot of time in that one.
I love the Chevy six cylinder engines! They are so durable and dependable. As always, a great video from Derek of VGG!
Yep,the 216 and 235 were nearly indestructible!
Thank you for sharing and your APPRECIATION to your subscribers Derek
This is one of my favorite rum runners great revival
That's a car I would love to have. Well done on being so patient with the brakes. A thankless job everytime.
The simplicity both mechanically and aesthetically are what make this car so gorgeous. I want a 54.
I've got a '50 that ran when parked about 40 years ago...
love VGG, and most off motortrend, but, the issue with out of usa subscription, is baffling to me. got kicked out of motortrend on demand the very minute discovery channel entered the chat, and no vpn or untrue location data would allow me to PAY for it, so yeah. love Derek and his family doing what they do best, unfortunately i'm at a loss when it comes to Motortrend on demand, they apparently don't want European money, maybe it has flees or something.
Motortrend prejudiced?
Just watch him on youtube
If we all stay loyal to his channel this will be dropped instantly
@@DocESP No one likes motortrend, its insufferable enough that they put all their content behind a paywall but then you have to sit there and listen to David Freiburger whinge while people with an actual personality do all the real work (aka Finnegan)
@@hemidart7 its been going on for a few years already. But I do watch him on RUclips every time he posts a new video. Same with Finnegan’s Garage. I was a subscriber from the start of MTOD. It was Discovery Channel that axed the availability for non American subscribers.
Loved this cool short form of what he does
These are always my favs......Love the oldies(pre 60's ).
That car is beautiful
I love that era of Chevys.
Dawm you got lucky. 44 years. Sitting. And she fared right up.
Wow dude that's going to be such a cool ride sitting low white wheels cruising
I like it. Gotta agree with a lot of fellers , that it seems rushed. Peck
Derek
You never cease to amaze me, I enjoy watching all of your videos
Thank you sir for your dedication
May Gods Blessings and grace shine upon you and your family always
Fun Fun Fun.....
........ for us, that is!
Thanks Derrick, and thanks MotorTrend!❤👍🇺🇲
My grandfather taught me to drive three on a column in the 51 Belair. Drove it when I got my license prior to army draft. Brings back memories. Learned a lot about engines.
Dereck got motor trend on life support, bringing the vgg fam.
Great video, thanks Derek
You can't beat them 52 Chevy's and Derek fixed it up and drove it!
“We got a 1 barrel” .. solid gold!!
You picked a good one. Those GMC six bangers don't die easily!!
I saw Derrick and knew this here was a good one 👍
I love seeing an old car get back on the road. Especially one as old as me.
Love watching a REAL pro, always a great time!!!!!
Them old six cyl Chevys are hard to beat !
My dad had one of those, I ruin the motor mounts then he went to a 56 Dodge I a got him to order the Sur-grip read end . We had snow and a big hill to go up that was not paved. It worked great. only had to shovel one side. Thanks for this one.
Love this episode. I had a 52 version that wanted to finish building for my dad before he passed and take a road trip to Route 66 with my two kids but unfortunately I had to sell it before that happened.
It's a good feeling getting something driving after someone else has given up on it... even better when it's been sitting for years!
Great video I wish Motor Trend would publish both a 16-minute version and the 1 hour version.
Nice Coupe, worth the effort.
"The sparkler maker happeners"! I love it!
Derek is DA MAN! Brilliant!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just found your channel last night and am glad I did!
This was awesome hope to see more . Great episode!!! Straight to the point
You’re the best, on any platform!
What a beauty of a car , the poverty caps are my favourite piece with these ol’ gems . Cheers 🇨🇦
My grandpa bought a 51chevy brand new for the kids.He parked it in 65. When i was 11 in 78 i messed around with it got it running agian. Drove it out in the back 40 and back up to the barn. It didnt quite run right but at the time i wasent aware it was probably just bad gas😮
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
We had one of those when I was a kid. I remember seeing myself broken up in those chrome dash slots.
This fella makes smile
The man is a gun …love the channel..
That master cylinder looked like a big job!
Yep, T-bone is watching. Derek, awesome as always. Quick fast and as I always say on Raley's Small Engines (on RUclips) Too Easy. Keep up the great work Vice Grip Garage.
This guy is king of the American Car RUclipsrs funniest and the coolest. Definitely feel like I have similarities to Derek in my
Personality 😂
I got one of these in the early 70's as a kid. It had sat since the early 60's. It was suprizingly easy to get going. Even converting to 12 volts was easy. It was a very dependable nice riding car. The built them like tanks back then.
roadworthy rescues should be its own channel
Finally, You have one that really is a Bel Air. The two door hardtop, on the Deluxe trim model, was the first to have the Bel Air name.
I had a half dozen of those 50-54 Chevys when I was a kid. Always started and ran forever.
I love this show..takes my hat holder out of work and cooking content..all these neet finds and pretty much always a victory in every clip..
Derek is the absolute best!!! Great job sir. VGG rules!!!
Cool car , cool guy , makes for a awesome video , thx Derek
Derek got a '50 and a '51. Perfect
Very enjoyable vid,thumbs up.Thanks.
Nice...
One of his safest finds yet,
Throttle stuck open,
No brakes,
Rust holes in all the right spots,
Good luck Derrick,
Please sign here, life insurance
One of the best motors ever built
There a removable panel in the driver wheel well to give you access to the master cylinder. I used it on my '53 Bel Air. Made it a lot easier.
Awesome job Derek
love Derek VIDS
Dont you just love Derek... 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Enjoy your videos a lot!
gorgeous car
That was a good episode, remember watching it last year!
Derek does it best!
This guy is the coolest car guy ever
