  • this could have been decent but it is overpriced and they use a special electronic bubble level which has issues which makes a variety of the triangulation modes difficult to use and it has a rounded body which means it's hard to get it to sit straight on surfaces

So aside from the bubble level is there actually anything to say in this review?

      Lmao
... looks like the guy just bought it to see if the bubble level actually worked. Disregarded everything else completely.

So, I bought this level to back check some "as-built" drawings I put together the old school way, dragging around some good old fashioned 25' and 100' tape measures. And I'll tell you, this thing works great. I'm not clear on what the issue is with the "accelerometer". It seems to know exactly where it's at in space (relative to dead level) to a hair on a rat's ass. I don't need that info to take room measurements rounded to nearest 1/2". Device works fine for my needs and seems well calibrated right out of the box (within a 1/16"). I paid $60 plus tax at HF. Built-in level doesn't look like it was designed to be used with unit on its side. I agree on wanting body of tool to be square.

I dont think you could really call this a review. It was honestly a 10 min video of you talking about its crappy level. When in reality its not its main purpose or job to begin with. Its meant to measure distance isn't it ? Why is there no review on the accuracy of the distances and anything that has to do with taking measurements. If I wanted to make sure something was level Id use a level of some sort. I wouldnt pay $70 dollars for a level anyways. You should really go more in depth if youre gonna consider thiss a review cuz honestly I didnt learn anything about this tool or its functions other thenits a shitty level. Thanks

So not recommended for nuclear powerplant construction, then.

so you bought a used laser tool that the basic use requires you calibrate them didnt read well , hmmm weird. just bought one the same exact way you did and callibrated it and wanted to watch a video on how to use. instead listened to uou complain then out of frustration pulled up the user manuel and figured it out myself.. thank for nothing
it works great if you calibrate it

I downloaded the manual but it doesn't say anything about how to calibrate the level, nor is there any setup procedure. What did I miss?

I don’t think this was meant to use it on its sides. Most of your complaint is trying to sit the bubble level on its side. None of the real bubble levels work on its side.

Most people are better off with the less expensive and more basic laser measurer. This A’MES unit has a lot of calculation options for offsets (Pythagorean theorem), areas, and volumes. It feels like it would work best with a tripod.
It uses a red laser so it isnt really good for outdoor use, even with the aiming cards. Maybe if you tape the aiming card to a white poster board and have someone verify that its on target could it work.
Seems more tedious than just getting out a 100ft. tape measure in my opinion. But Maybe engineers will disagree!
