They missed the most important thing to do at motherbase, which is to go to the medical platform and at the top floor find the door that opens and unlock a secret cutscene. Without spoiling it, just know it's very significant with regards to the events of Ground Zeroes. Also, rescuing animals increases staff morale, gives you extra GMP, increases your heroism, and grows medicinal plants making motherbase all around more productive.

No.. Next to the Helipad.. There's a delivery point.. Get into a cardboard box, hold Triangle, and choose your destination. You'll be there instantly.. So no, not the Helicopter.
Another really useful tip - travel around mother base using the cardboard box. There is an area right next to each platforms main landing zone where you can use your cardboard box to fast travel around the base!
Wish you could explore the interior of MB a little more. A mission where you have to fight through enemy invaders through offices and facilities would be very cool

Things to do at Mother Base: -Take a shower -Interrogate guards to find the location of rough diamonds around Motherbase or get some pretty obvious tips -Find the 2 anime posters around the Main Platform -Go to the Medical Platform at the third floor and look for a door with a blue light,go inside and them open another door inside to trigger a hidden cutscene and "side ops" -Perv at Quiet on Medical Platform -Go to Quarentine Platform to see the Skulls trapped (If you have extracted them) -Take a walk at Animal Conservation Plant -Use delivery points to travel across Motherbase instantly (Small orange platform near helipoints,use cardboard box on them) -Find easter eggs and emblem parts across Motherbase -Everytime you go to Motherbase bump into the 4 guards saluting you at the helipoint,so that you increase their morale (You dont need to punch them or anything,just bump them or go near them and they will salute you increasing their morale,you can increase a soldier's morale only once per motherbase visit,so dont bother trying to increase even more)

In the demo they said everyone's base will be unique and different. How? They are all the same. You can't change the layout of the base you can only change the colour (there isn't many) and your logo. That's it.

For someone like me new to this series all the options and things to do in this game are a bit overwhelming but i at least i got my $25 worth. Man i got a lot of things to remember just for this game.
I'm sure people have found this by now but instead of driving/taking the helicopter to other platforms you can hide inside a box while on a loading bay (little orange squares on the ground, you can see one to the left as you first enter the command center) and then hold down triangle to quick travel to any platform on your base! Saves a ton of time.
I bought Until Dawn instead of this D: I have to admit I'm not disappointed -AT ALL- with Until Dawn... That game is amazing but I should totally have gotten this one first ! It would have lasted me all month ._.

9. Go to the blue door on the top floor on the medical strut. Enter it, walk down the corridor and press the button on the next door. Theres another door that is currently red on the top floor of the command strut. I have the feeling that both will blow your mind.
There's a faster way of getting around mother base than driving the vehicles. Go to one of the collection points (there's one on each platform) and get in your cardboard box. Then you'll be able to hold the triangle button (PS4) and can immediately be dropped off at any other platform. Much faster than driving. Also if you bring up the map while at mother base, you can easily identify where exactly these collection points are. Hope that helps.
go to delivery poimt sit on platform in cardboard box with out moving for 2 . secs. then you will see why pop up hold why and you can pick anywhere at mother base where you want to go without saving to take a hour to get from platform to platform. it's basically fast travel. you can also do in the field if you pick up the sticky note right in front of the delivery point
Meta Critic reviewers aren't always right. The version of mgs 5 they reviewed was at a closed event. There was no ending and they were allowed only 35 hours to play it without the microtransactions. Also gamespot had to release a second video explaining their review because so many people complained about it and said it was way better than a 6.
The jeep is there as soon as you develop another platform. I can't even extract any vehicles yet, but I have jeeps at my mother base. Also, hitting your staff does not increase their moral.

Hitting staff does increase their morale,but you can only increase a staff member morale once per Motherbase visit,but its easier to just bump or go near them.

The base has just started tor for me, but I never expected you could be able to add so much to it. I never would have guessed MGS would have evolved into this.
Go to the medical platform on the second or third deck, there is a door that opens, go down the hall and press the button on the wall to open the next door there is a surprise in there for you. Also while doing this go do the side missions where you extract the solders from the old mother base than return for progress.
i got few more things u should do in motherbase.... 1. pick up diamonds...u get location by interrigation ur staff on every platform.... 2. get back to motherbase so u can continue with missions and unlock new buddys. 3. i still havent figured out what to do with unprocessed containers, you can fulton extract them, witch makes you loose 10k money, but other than that there is no benefit.
Actually you get a jeep per base that you construct, you don't have to steal/fulton them. I never stole any and my base has one for every bridge. What does happen though is that if you fulton any vehicles, you can ask it to be dropped at drop points in a mission or at the Commence Mission screen where you choose a character, buddy and (voilá!) vehicle.
another thing u should do @ mother base is explore all ur platforms. there are rough diamonds laying around in each platform which translates to free GMP all over mother base.
4 is wrong, the jeeps appear when you add a extra platforms, you don't have to Fulton them. However you will have to Fulton them later if you want your people to use them during Combat Development missions.
You don't need to extract jeeps to find them in your motherbase in case anyone was wondering! Also cardboard boxing at the delivery point is THE fastest way to travel.
Fastest way for me to get around mother base is to put on the any box and sit on the orange loading zone, once you sit there it should say hold triangle and your iDroid should pop up asking where you want to me shipped
Id heard (and one of the guys in this video seems to have thought) that you got to build your own motherbase. What actually seem to be the case, is that you spend items and money to build/upgrade each wing/platform, and everything about said platform is placed automatically. Zero customization beyond basic upgrades in size.
No. 4 should be to use the delivery points instead. Far easier and quicker to get around the base [and the AO's once you've got the delivery invoices].
You don't need to extract a jeep to have it appear in Mother Base... If you do, that would be pretty weird cause I don't even have the fulton cargo 2 upgrade so couldn't even extract a jeep if I tried... and there are loads on my base.

Great stuff. Just one thing on #4. I don't think you have to Fulton extract a jeep before you can get one to move around. My Fulton Extractor hasn't been leveled up to move vehicles and containers yet but I have a jeep on mother base to move to my R&D platform.
You guy know you can travel even faster between the bases by going to the drop off platform on each main platform and equipping the box. It transports you to any other platform within seconds! Try it!
I've kind of run out of stuff to do... my GMP is maxed, my resources are maxed, my FOB's are all complete, my staff is maxed, my developments are all but done... wish we had more uses for all the gmp and resources.....
How do you build the zoo? I've been told by ocelot that he built a zoo on base because the was too many to send at once but I haven't seen any change. Do I have to level up my base building? Or do a specific mission?
I haven't gotten to that far to be able to Fulton vehicles and such, but when you expand the base they automatically give you a jeep F.Y.I. for everyone

you didn't mention the most practical thing you can do. send your soldiers on missions either to gain currency or to sabotage enemy equipment to hinder their effectiveness. for example if you were getting a lot of headshots enemies will star wearing helmets, so you can send soldiers to blow up the enemies armor supplies
Good vid, but I didn't fulton a jeep and it auto appeared on the base after expanding the platforms. Also there is a cargo pickup that acts like a quick travel on the base and in the field. You have to use cardboard box. And if your spotted it becomes disabled. Also the grading system does not work like you explained. D does not mean that a soldier is proficient in R&D. It means that D/E are the soldiers that are less skilled than a S, A++, A+, A, B and C in all the categories available. I'm on the honey bee episode now and completed a few side ops and I still havent had the option to build a medical bay. When does that become available?

One thing you have to do on Mother Base is to visit Paz. I found her by accident and I'm still wondering where the other doors on MB lead to (like the one under the floor where Paz lies).

Bit of misinformation there, the jeeps are there regardless if you've extracted them or not. I don't have the upgraded fulton yet to extract heavy stuff and my base has jeeps.
actually, to have a jeep to travel between platforms you don't need to Fulton one. My mother base has a jeep to go platform to platform and my Fulton balloon is only tier one.
Tavel by jeep only if you want to waste time... there's the M.B. delivery system much more faster and you can also call your chopper to take you from deck to deck still much faster than driving, but it is nice to drive around M.B.
Does the game have a health system, box hiding system, interiors, classic weapons, classic camera view, codec? Basically stuff from previous Metal Gear Games. I hope the codec has way more discussions (or messages) you can hear, because MGS2 had so much! :D
well 2 replace the codec they have the idroid which in my opinion is better i wish they had a injure system like in mgs3 (only mgs ive played besides this one) also they have a weapon customization feature which is wat u get from extracting this unique gunsmith and its a really fun feature u can put an ak47 barrel on an ar15 stock an etc theres also a pvp multiplayer which is also really fun
Nightcaster460 each metal gear had their own feel. Do you mean feel as in combat and gameplay or feel as in the story? Combat is a bit different. The CQC is much more simplified but can be effective for close groups of enemies. The CQC makes him seem like the legendary war hero. There are a lot of weapons and customizations as well. The NPC's are good shots believe it or not so it isn't a cakewalk. In terms of stealth there's usually always a way to complete a mission without killing people and this time around there are a lot more options. CQC is encouraged because you can get information from interrogations. You obviously have the tranq gun but you can also unlock a silenced tranquilizer sniper rifle, a non lethal assault rifle, and nonlethal shotgun. So the stealth is still prevalent but it's more based on blocking vision than a percent camo meter. in this game your stealth is more based on blocking vision and staying low where patrols can't see you. Can't say much about the story because I'm only about half way. It's definitely weird so far. Other than that there are some parts to the game that I feel are clunky and unnecessary It's always better to plan before going in. Use the binoculars to spot and mark enemies so you know where you need to go. There's always extra objectives to do during main missions.

The jeep is there as soon as you develop another platform. I can't even extract any vehicles yet, but I have jeeps at my mother base. Also, hitting your staff does not increase their moral.
Hitting staff does increase their morale,but you can only increase a staff member morale once per Motherbase visit,but its easier to just bump or go near them.

The base has just started tor for me, but I never expected you could be able to add so much to it. I never would have guessed MGS would have evolved into this.
How to attack a freinds mother base? And do we or the opponent need a FOB to play multiplayer?
Firstly, you need to unlock the FOB multiplayer mode (reach mission 20). And both of you meed FOB.

Go to the medical platform on the second or third deck, there is a door that opens, go down the hall and press the button on the wall to open the next door there is a surprise in there for you. Also while doing this go do the side missions where you extract the solders from the old mother base than return for progress.

The jeeps by the bridges are there by default. You can also just get in a box and get transported.

It's pretty stable if u ask me, if u don't mind graphics, you should get it, because it's a very good port

i got few more things u should do in motherbase....
1. pick up diamonds...u get location by interrigation ur staff on every platform....
2. get back to motherbase so u can continue with missions and unlock new buddys.
3. i still havent figured out what to do with unprocessed containers, you can fulton extract them, witch makes you loose 10k money, but other than that there is no benefit.
when i got a nother platform i got a jeep for free the pain likes me more rob haha😁😱😭
Actually you get a jeep per base that you construct, you don't have to steal/fulton them. I never stole any and my base has one for every bridge. What does happen though is that if you fulton any vehicles, you can ask it to be dropped at drop points in a mission or at the Commence Mission screen where you choose a character, buddy and (voilá!) vehicle.

another thing u should do @ mother base is explore all ur platforms. there are rough diamonds laying around in each platform which translates to free GMP all over mother base.
4 is wrong, the jeeps appear when you add a extra platforms, you don't have to Fulton them. However you will have to Fulton them later if you want your people to use them during Combat Development missions.
You don't need to extract jeeps to find them in your motherbase in case anyone was wondering! Also cardboard boxing at the delivery point is THE fastest way to travel.
Fastest way for me to get around mother base is to put on the any box and sit on the orange loading zone, once you sit there it should say hold triangle and your iDroid should pop up asking where you want to me shipped
Id heard (and one of the guys in this video seems to have thought) that you got to build your own motherbase.
What actually seem to be the case, is that you spend items and money to build/upgrade each wing/platform, and everything about said platform is placed automatically.
Zero customization beyond basic upgrades in size.
No. 4 should be to use the delivery points instead. Far easier and quicker to get around the base [and the AO's once you've got the delivery invoices].
You don't need to extract a jeep to have it appear in Mother Base... If you do, that would be pretty weird cause I don't even have the fulton cargo 2 upgrade so couldn't even extract a jeep if I tried... and there are loads on my base.

Hey Rob, for a pc gamer who have never played metal gear, what games whould you say are worth playing?
Do not travel by jeep, travel with the fast travel delivery system by using your cardboard box in select locations around the platforms.
Great stuff. Just one thing on #4. I don't think you have to Fulton extract a jeep before you can get one to move around. My Fulton Extractor hasn't been leveled up to move vehicles and containers yet but I have a jeep on mother base to move to my R&D platform.
You guy know you can travel even faster between the bases by going to the drop off platform on each main platform and equipping the box. It transports you to any other platform within seconds! Try it!
You can also get the jeep and other vehicles via challenge tasks.

I cant recall ever using Fulton on any Jeep and they showed up at my base anyway. I think it just shows up after you've built it to a specific size.
I've kind of run out of stuff to do... my GMP is maxed, my resources are maxed, my FOB's are all complete, my staff is maxed, my developments are all but done... wish we had more uses for all the gmp and resources.....
How do you build the zoo? I've been told by ocelot that he built a zoo on base because the was too many to send at once but I haven't seen any change. Do I have to level up my base building? Or do a specific mission?
I haven't gotten to that far to be able to Fulton vehicles and such, but when you expand the base they automatically give you a jeep F.Y.I. for everyone
The jeep is actually there whether you fulton one or not.

you didn't mention the most practical thing you can do. send your soldiers on missions either to gain currency or to sabotage enemy equipment to hinder their effectiveness. for example if you were getting a lot of headshots enemies will star wearing helmets, so you can send soldiers to blow up the enemies armor supplies
Good vid, but I didn't fulton a jeep and it auto appeared on the base after expanding the platforms. Also there is a cargo pickup that acts like a quick travel on the base and in the field. You have to use cardboard box. And if your spotted it becomes disabled. Also the grading system does not work like you explained. D does not mean that a soldier is proficient in R&D. It means that D/E are the soldiers that are less skilled than a S, A++, A+, A, B and C in all the categories available. I'm on the honey bee episode now and completed a few side ops and I still havent had the option to build a medical bay. When does that become available?

One thing you have to do on Mother Base is to visit Paz. I found her by accident and I'm still wondering where the other doors on MB lead to (like the one under the floor where Paz lies).

Bit of misinformation there, the jeeps are there regardless if you've extracted them or not. I don't have the upgraded fulton yet to extract heavy stuff and my base has jeeps.
They are wrong about the Jeep only being there if you have fultoned one back. The Jeeps are there after you start adding platforms to MB.

actually, to have a jeep to travel between platforms you don't need to Fulton one. My mother base has a jeep to go platform to platform and my Fulton balloon is only tier one.
you can ship yourself if you go int he cardboard box and crawl on the little orange shipping platforms by the landing pads, much quicker than driving.
The point of Extracting animals is to raise moral and GMP. You get more GMP back than you expend using Fulton.
Tavel by jeep only if you want to waste time... there's the M.B. delivery system much more faster and you can also call your chopper to take you from deck to deck still much faster than driving, but it is nice to drive around M.B.
Does the game have a health system, box hiding system, interiors, classic weapons, classic camera view, codec? Basically stuff from previous Metal Gear Games. I hope the codec has way more discussions (or messages) you can hear, because MGS2 had so much! :D

well 2 replace the codec they have the idroid which in my opinion is better i wish they had a injure system like in mgs3 (only mgs ive played besides this one)
also they have a weapon customization feature which is wat u get from extracting this unique gunsmith and its a really fun feature u can put an ak47 barrel on an ar15 stock an etc theres also a pvp multiplayer which is also really fun

Do you mean feel as in combat and gameplay or feel as in the story?
Combat is a bit different. The CQC is much more simplified but can be effective for close groups of enemies. The CQC makes him seem like the legendary war hero. There are a lot of weapons and customizations as well. The NPC's are good shots believe it or not so it isn't a cakewalk.
In terms of stealth there's usually always a way to complete a mission without killing people and this time around there are a lot more options. CQC is encouraged because you can get information from interrogations. You obviously have the tranq gun but you can also unlock a silenced tranquilizer sniper rifle, a non lethal assault rifle, and nonlethal shotgun. So the stealth is still prevalent but it's more based on blocking vision than a percent camo meter. in this game your stealth is more based on blocking vision and staying low where patrols can't see you.
Can't say much about the story because I'm only about half way. It's definitely weird so far.
Other than that there are some parts to the game that I feel are clunky and unnecessary
It's always better to plan before going in. Use the binoculars to spot and mark enemies so you know where you need to go. There's always extra objectives to do during main missions.
The R&D target practice is the hardest thing I've encountered thus far!! Those targets are stealthier than BB & SS combined!
I need this game, I recently replayed all of the MGS and completely fell in love with the series again, so I bought ground zeroes thinking it would be longer, to get me ready for TPP but nope.

that 2:30 is not true the JEEP is not there because you extract it is there automatically when you build the base!
