I'm completely deaf in one ear and having problems with my other ear. I've been learning beginners ASL from you. Finally someone who completely understands.
🌸 as someone that prefers deaf people in general, I was living at a deaf community and tried to flirt with a guy. but as it turns out I was asking him if he was hamburger 🍔 :/ oye. 🤦♀️
Im gonna use this to slyly tell somebody I love them without it feeling too awkward, because i have a really tough time putting my feelings into words. Doing theater makes it really easily for me to use body language and signals. Thank you so much! ASL can be for more than the deaf, nonverbal autism, babies, and people who are mute! P.S. I believe at least basic ASL should be taught in elementary because it can help out so much.
Aww, I love this!! 💜 I’m ready for flirt my girlfriend on the valentine’s day soon, hehe! My girlfriend improves her asl sign a lot, not going to lie! I can’t wait to see her on the valentine’s day date! 🥰💜
I love how you say the sentence how we would typically say it as hearing folks, but then you show how it would be signed. That's super helpful as I'm learning asl with my husband as we have a need for it, but don't know any deaf people to practice with. I don't want to sign exact English even if we're just using it at home.
This is the seventh time I have watched this video that's how I remember. But you say don't slap a def person and I totally agree. They will kick your ASS if you do. THANK'S girl for teaching me ASL... T. Y. MY FRIEND
I've been watching your videos for a while now. I wanted to teach my granddaughter (who is now 3) some sign language when she was a baby since it can be so frustrating for little ones when they aren't able to voice what they want yet. After searching for a while I found your channel and your teaching was so easy for me and I was able to teach my granddaughter the basics. I can't tell you how much this helped!! She was able to let us know what she wanted everytime and kept her frustration level to the minimum. Even though she has no problems speaking now ( my little motor mouth lol) she will still use asl. So I am still learning and teaching her. In fact we sit down together now and watch you. Thank you so much for helping us through what is usually a difficult time for my grandbaby. ❤️
I have auditory processing issues. I took ASL classes at a local Deaf school a while back. I have less free time now, but recently found your videos and they're great! I like how you explain things well and give examples with the proper emotion behind them. Definitely will be coming back to your channel next time I have a question!
Thank you for doing all this! I’m learning asl not only to be able communicate with hard of hearing or deaf people, but also me and my mom are learning it to be able to talk to each other with our hands. During christmas, we were able, for the first time to have a conversation asking each other how we were feeling in asl! And it’s all because of you! Thank you so much!! 🤘
I'm so glad you found our channel and find it helpful. Believing that ASL will come easy for the 2 of you! Let us know if there's anything we can do that would be helpful to you all.
This channel is the most useful and easy-to-follow I have found thus-far for ASL! I have been using RUclips to look up new signs for almost a decade and these are my favorites by far! The candor, the clarity of signs, sound-quality, speed, and (useful) variety; all amazing! I just watched the Religion one and now this one. It's motivating me to really stick with it. 🥳
So glad you find our channel helpful. We really do strive to be the best resource for ASL. Certainly there are more experienced and qualified individuals out there that teach ASL and people should learn from them too. We feel like all of the values you mentioned plus our ASL knowledge is what sets us apart. Method matters. Let us know if you have any suggestions on how we can do better. And keep going! You've got this!
I just want to say that out of all the ASL RUclips channels that I’ve watched yours is the best one. I love the way you teach and I’m actually learning. Also I’m so excited because I had a dream last night and in my dream I wanted to ask a guy what was the name of his dad and wow I Sign that to him and he understood. I’m even signing in my dreams 🎉. I’m so happy 😍
I just stumbled across your videos tonight, and I have to say that they are SOOO informative! I learned some basic ASL in school, but never really used it in real life, so pretty much all of it just went out of my head unfortunately (the same with Spanish, which I took 3 years of...), but I've recently had a couple of Uber drivers that were categorized as "deaf or hard of hearing," then tonight met a cute guy (who was either deaf or hard of hearing) walking his dog outside of our hotel, and I felt like a complete idiot when trying to talk to them (particularly the cute guy walking his dog lol), so I decided to brush up on some ASL to try and refresh my memory.... The way you say things like "think of batting your eyelashes cuz you're flirting," etc when explaining what certain signs mean makes it SOOO much easier to learn and remember!
Thank you! I'm having so much fun with your videos! I am a bartender in a tourist destination in FLorida. I had a coworker a couple years ago who knew ASL and was able to communicate with a group of deaf patrons through sign language and i felt so left out because they were obviously having a LOT of [silent] fun!! So i bit the bullet and decided i really do want to know ASL!! Your videos are some of the first i came across, but definitely the most fun!!
I have a slight hearing issue in one ear and when I watch your videos I remember why I joined sign language when I started high school! Your videos are so amazing and helpful!❤
I'm really enjoying watching this videos with ASL I work with a handful of deaf people and I'm always trying to communicate with them with what little I know and or through the phone via text or via Notepad but at times I can get frustrating and take a pretty good amount of time while working so with that say that you want to say thank you for teaching
Great channel~ I love the way you give references and examples with each sign. It really helps with memorizing. I still remember the sign for work because of you saying its like two rocks banging together.
Hi! I love the pace and clarity of your videos! I’ve always wanted to learn sign language after learning the alphabet in 3rd grade, and now, many years later, I finally am! Thank you so much! Also do you have a video or any tricks on how to understand signs like in a Conversation or is it just a practice? Thanks
This should probably be directed to a Patereon or something, but would you consider doing a video on all the signs that are really *similar to one another, or where groups of signs take place (how many signs are on the backs of the hands, or how many signs look similar to "live" and "address" and "drive" for example.) I'm taking two online ASL classes for a college degree with no in-person practice. Your channel has been invaluable this semester. Thank you.
idk why but i just couldnt help but start laughing when my audio lagged and stopped working for a moment and all of a sudden, breaking the silence i hear "because your fingers are wiggly :D" XD this is some good curriculum and learning material tho
I let you know that I’m deaf. Yes, I have been going out with so many hearing friends for many years. Now, I’m learning sign language so I hope that I will able to chat with the deaf or hearing people. Thanks for the video. 👍🙂
Im deaf but im also can hear anything and maybe you and i could bond together like this and we could talk and you can talk to me about yourself and I’m little shy to talk to people
This is great! I love all of your videos; They’re super helpful for me & my students! I was wondering if you could do a video about music and instruments? I have students who sign & that would be super helpful to communicate with them across the football field during rehearsals☺️
My mom recently had a baby and we were told she was deaf and we have all been taking asl classes and stuff to get her to understand us and us to understand her
I like that you have the how to be a genuniely nice person too as part of it. I'm just learning to sign, and I want to show anyone who's deaf that I'm trying very sincnerly. I'm so used to talking, that it's ahrd to get out of the habit of saying something when I sign, when I'm starting out now. I've been curious as to how other things work in sign language, so it'll be iteresting to see how fliring works. I've noticed right away that context is everything and is convyed differeintly in sign language. LIke, I've been wondieng how to say "I love astronomy" in sign launague. I realized right away that "love" would probably be the romatic type of love, so I imagine the closest thing in sign language might be something like "I have a passion for" I've not studied much yet, so I'm interseted to see. I didnt realize how different the grammar was in sign language, but it makes sense the more I think about it!
Overall this video is pretty good and a nice resource. I did want to say though, I noticed she signed girl wrong. When your hand come forward off of your jaw the sign becomes tomorrow, and when you push it off twice(like she showed) it becomes everyday. Be careful since there are many signs that look similar and if you are going to sign girl simply pull your hand from your jaw to your chin and do not push off
To Learn How to Sign: I enjoyed your channel, but as someone learning sign language due to medical condition that affected my hearing, I would appreciate it if you could demonstrate the ASL slowly, including the slides.
Thank you so much for this video I'm a widower and for the first time since I was a kid I have a crush The only problem is she's mostly deaf and it's hard to communicate she teaches me a little asl every time I see her
I have a speaking boyfriend so I couldn't use this 😂 but it would be so sweet to see someone use this. I'm learning right now very slowly but surely. Life is stressful right now. Still I try
I'm completely deaf in one ear and having problems with my other ear. I've been learning beginners ASL from you. Finally someone who completely understands.
I'm going down that same road.
Me, too. I've got a similar issue.
🤟 me too
Same
I'm not deaf but same
I honestly love how she explains everything. It instantly makes sense and she gives cute examples that I easily remember
If you are taking time to learn asl you're already a great person
❤
Ty lol I am learning so I can talk with deaf ppl
❤❤❤ aww i just want to be able to talk with anyone and learn about the whole world as a whole.
awww, thanks !! i just think this language is beautiful and i want to connect with deaf people!!

Sounds awesommeeee
