  • Jamie shows us his recipe for crispy duck pancakes. Tender duck meat tossed in a mint, lime and chilli soy sauce dressing, served in crunchy lettuce wraps and drizzled with hoisin sauce and a scattering of pomegranate seeds. Delicious!

    great, but i just cant understand why you always mix sweet things or sugar or honey with meat. tried once and i didnt like it, i like my meat salty not sweet.

      well i guess its about what cuisine your used to, here we use sweet things only for desert and food is salty and never mixed with sweet stuff, like on this video pomegranate. i would eat the pomegranate after the duck never mixed with it :)

    • @Keukeu45
      @Keukeu45 9 лет назад +4

      it's about balancing differents kindd of flavors: spicy, sour, salty, savory, sugary... Sure you could eat the duck straight out of the oven but that wouldn't be that interesting

      i dont eat hot at all. yes when i tried adding sugar i added limes but again even adding really small amount of sugar i could taste it and it did ruins the taste of the meat for me. its maybe that i am avoiding sugar or maybe we are not used to use sugar in food

      Not really with chicken, MAYBE with beef. Bold and sweet flavours go best with dark, fatty meats. I'm trying to think of other animals that could work with that kind of treatment, but I can only think of duck and geese.

    Hey,
    I have tried the whole bang the Pomegranate with the back of a spoon thing... Jamie does it all the time, in Xmas videos, Easter videos, etc... it just does not work that smoothly. Would be nice to show everyone exactly how messy and real de-fruiting a Pome' is instead of making us believe there is some kind of special trick we are missing... How about a video teaching us Jamie's Pome' trick... would love to see that with slightly less editing slickness.
    Generally really like the Food Tube :)
