I worked as a 2nd AD on a couple of projects Jami was in during the 80's (Lost Boys & Sibs), and I can attest that she was exactly the same then as she seems here: funny, down-to-earth, professional. Lovely person.
Never a more perfect Muffy. I don't think the network knew how popular this show was with kids & teens. Every single kid not only watched it, but we would all discuss it in school after every episode. It was the dream demographic & the network threw it away.
@@jonsrecordcollection7172 I'm sure younger viewers think the Jennifer character just sounds dumb, but "Valley Girl" speak was new & incredibly cool at the time. It's when we all started putting so many "Likes" in our sentences. It created a monster though.
Square Pegs is such an underrated classic show. Tracy Nelson, Jami Gertz and the whole cast were great, but especially Tracy and Jami are 2 of my faves.
I was one of those kids in Chicago auditioning for Square Pegs. I remember I read a scene in a stairwell with a girl, then we came back and did the scene for the adults.
Shows like "Square Pegs" and "Freaks and Geeks" get the axe after one season, yet shows like "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" seemingly go on forever. Go figure.
What an awesome story. Do young people even take initiative anymore? Different times the 1980s. She developed and nailed that character. So glad she got her break. Great actress!
She was Muffy to a tee. I grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago the same time she did. My boyfriend and his sisters went to Maine East, the same school she went to.
I know I could never compare or compete with your husband for your affection, but I love you anyway. I just want to say that. What the hell am I doing? She's never gonna see this!
The last great innovative decade as far as entertainment. I mean there were sitcoms that had great social commentary which also carried over into the music industry which did the same.
Lastima que esté en inglés pero comparto tus gustos( entiendo un poco el inglés). En la película twisster(tornados) estaba perfecta y es de mi gusto. SALUDOS DESDE ESPAÑA (HELLO)

"It behooves me to say ...."😊 Luv Sarah, Jamie & Tracy. They had their characters down pat. Great memories behind "Square Pegs" for me😎
Her story about Merritt Butrick made me smile. He was 🔥!!!
RIP 😢

I knew a girl in my neighborhood who could imitate the Jennifer DeNuccio voice so well it was both hilarious and scary.

I didn't get into the show when it originally aired. Maybe because some of the characters I didn't like.

Mine, too, YES, Tracy and Jami. Jennifer and Muffy.
Shes so beautiful and just brings back so many memories of the movies I loved in the 80s. Classy and lovely. ❤

Square Pegs was my FAVORITE show in high school & I never missed an episode.
Pure class and icon of my generation.
She's so pretty...and very underrated as an actress. I loved her in Twister and in Still Standing also.
+SlateEight That movie sucked.
Lost Boys! Still Standing is underrated.
I always loved Jami. She's still the best!
She's such a woman.
I love the way her personality is even better than her looks, and she does look good.
She's more beautiful than ever.
Loved that show back in the day!
John Hughes should've made her a main character ... her bit in sixteen candles is hilarious "I don't do thayt" .. so Chicago the accent
Sounds like fun memories. I loved the show!
also she played as star in the lostboys movie as well, just had to put out there.
Always SO much respect for you Mrs. Gertz.

I think she is GREAT. I love Jamie Gertz as of this interview. I loved her when I was little, but I adore her as a human
She will always be Star to me.

She wasn't a primary character, but she and LaDonna we're my favorites..Love these stories...I was really rooting for this show..
Wow. She really aged well. She barely looks any different than Muffy.

Love this story. Refreshing to hear a kid who just wanted to do this and wasn't overly showbiz savvy. Like, you know....a real person!!
I know I could never compare or compete with your husband for your affection, but I love you anyway. I just want to say that.
What the hell am I doing? She's never gonna see this!

Damn! She's SO more hot that Sarah Jessica! What kind of freaky Bizarro World put Sarah J. Parker on that pedestal?
