500 HP & 1,000lb/ft Mil-Spec Hummer H1- (Off-Road) One Take

  • IF you love Porsche's of all kinds, you're going to want to check out PCar Market! www.pcarmarket.com
Detroit outfit Mil-Spec is talking a problem that is much easier said than done: un-shitboxing the Hummer H1. You see, the original Hummer seemed cool at the time, but it was a seriously terrible vehicle. Underpowered, with half-thought accessories and a tendency to overheat, not to mention GM's injection-molded interior. Mil Spec rebuilds the H1 from the frame rails up, drops in a new powertrain, re-designs the entire interior for better ergonomics, accessories, and sound, and, sells them ready to go, starting at $218,000

Lots of people asking about rattles. I take it none of you have ever been in an actual Hummer, which are the creakiest, most shoddily built vehicles ever. Even if you rebuild the whole thing, there will be some rattles if you’re going off-road. The clamshell hood is designed to shake around, that is totally standard. But this is a MASSIVE improvement from a stock hummer in the NVH department.

I was in the Army when those came out and I’m pretty sure there was never a gas engine version. The Army was moving away from gas. The last thing they had with gas was the Dodge pickup and the M151 Jeep which the Hummer replaced.

Everything he spouted off about the engines was specific to the civilian side, while he’s playing around with a rebuilt military hmmwv, not an H1.

$200k lets calculate it, $35k for a donor hummer plus $38k for the Duramax engine conversion and $10k for the interior and sandblasting, that $83k and the rest of $200k still in his bank account

To be fair, the Hummer h1 and the military Humvee are not the same vehicle. Off the ranch put it pretty simple. The h1 is the foofoo version of the the Humvee.

That really annoys me too. People think of dirt roads as off-roading.
You aren't off-roading until the car is aimed at the sky and you're bouncing off the rutts.

A dirt road is just that, a ROAD lol... I came to see this this thing actually off road as the title has in brackets to stand out.._ i watch 4WD Action every time a new episode is out on their channel, so have high standards.. Btw (If you don't know it) 4WD Action is an amazing channel and show

I am Japanese (home of the world most reliable off road builder, Toyota) and absolutely love off roading and Toyotas.. I was in Australia and seen my favorite track in the highlands.. I absolutely love those guys lol.. I currently live in Canada's Pacific Northwest, so a capable vehicle is a must and my husband and I own 3 Toyota's lol

@@lunamaria1048 That is so cool! I love Japan and have been there 3 times.
At the moment I drive a Mazda rx-7 and a Toyota Hilux. Toyota are by far my favourite vehicle manufacturer!
Honestly you fooled me, I thought only Australians were watching 4wd action!
      日本が大好きです!

Yea yea yea. They're built to military spec. They are exactly what the military wanted. They were not built for civilian use. The H1 was awesome for what is was meant for.

Yeah but like any military industry or government convenience.. Usually the contract that wins its the one who are equivalent on all theyr points.. Like mass production/cheapness/performance... Simply its not the best truck of the market its just imponente and fulfill ita purpose...
