Absolutely love the attention to detail explaining the installation. Especially on the roll up door, you can bet the manufacturers instructions dont even mention one half of what was mentioned in this video.
Forgive my ignorance, but since there doesn’t seem to be a standardized method for joining two containers to create a double-wide unit, could four of these door openings be modified to support the centerline between the two containers? We’re exploring options and considering a method using the following materials: • Structural Steel: ASTM A36 or A500 • Columns: 4-inch x 4-inch square steel tubing with a 1/4-inch wall thickness • Beams: W10x30 steel I-beams (10-inch depth, 30 lbs/ft) • Footer Plate: 3-inch high, 1-inch thick steel plate running the length of the container (40 feet) Additionally, we’re thinking about welding a 1/4-inch plate to seal the containers at the bottom and sides, adding a U-channel at the top to divert water, snow, and ice, and spraying insulation into the gaps. Any thoughts or feedback on this approach?
What about modifying entry door as entrance door by welding one side closed and removing hardware on other door and then finding or making a door mechanism to open and lock from inside and out like front door entry?
Container doors are usually quite stubborn to close and the leverage from the two door handles is typically required to compress the door gasket and have the doors seat properly. I'm not saying it's impossible but if it was inexpensive and easy, there would be a kit out there already.
Great Video Thank you! What hardware is included with the door kits? If not provided, can you offer a list of hardware needed to complete the installation please. Screws, nuts, bolts, rivets, etc. Thank you!
Near Cambridge OH I need help to install some type of door into a 40 ft HC container. Could be a roll up door or an Agricultural slider door for farm equipment. any one I can contact to get help?
Hi Jesse. This kit is developed by us in-house. You can fill out the Request A Quote form on our website at www.tcg.ca and that should give us enough information to provide you an estimate on the kit.
Are you talking about that ceramic stuff? It's the same price as spray foam with no R-Value and no added structural integrity so it isn't worth it. I don't know how long it will last.
Do you make a roll up door to replace the end swing mounted doors?? My containers are standard height and width & 40 foot long. With The swing doors you must keep everything clear of the end doors. Cost of your end mount roll up doors I have 2, 40 footers now !
Hello. We have finally released the video on this. We can either install the exterior mounted roll shutter door or interior mounted roll up door. See here: ruclips.net/video/shT-L7LCAt0/видео.html
Hello, we stock these at a couple of our locations (www.tcg.ca). Where are you located? Depending on your whereabouts, it might be feasible to ship. The framing kit without the door can be packaged decently in a box and shipped parcel shipment if you can order a roll up door that fits locally. Janus International is a great supplier in USA.
Yes, you can. We will have a video out shortly on this. You will need to install a header and side frames to mount the RUD tracks. A person is better off to install a roll up door on the end wall rather than replace their doors if they are still sealed and lockable.
Hi Andrew. We were backordered forever on brush seal but finally received another order and could sell you some. Heads up - pricing has gone crazy on that stuff.
Hi Andrew. You'll have to email a request through the website. We don't typically sell the brush individually. It's usually a component in our Roll Up Door assembly. Please provide your shipping address in your quote request.
Thanks for sharing. I agree. I don't like how the center of the rivet punches out sometimes. Do you suggest using their blind fasteners for our application? Or just their gun?
You should have just rolled the door twice before bringing it in the guide then your tension is already set! I'm literally doing this right now as I'm watching your video.

I wish the presenter would have shown how he laid out the installation of the latch.
The latch comes attached to the door from the manufacturer and there is a slot for it in the slide rails.
