what is the cost to do this ?
How much
no response on this one I see
Can you please give me the dimensions of the underneath channel at the bottom of the container. We are building a container and I think my boss made a mistake
I live in Thailand. Containers are not commonly used as houses here. Most of them are used as temporary offices, but I will build a container house myself. Thank you for the good knowledge 🙏
Is that your pet or dinner?
@@joey4277 bruhhh💀💀😂
To my knowledge, choosing to use a container as a living space is a decision not made with money in mind but strictly because it looks nice and it's a cool idea, stacking a bunch of "bricks" to make a house. Don't dive in with the wrong assumptions: It's not ecological (you should not use old decommissioned containers, at least for something you intend to be a living space), it's not necessarily economical (check your local prices and try making some estimates, then look at other options and compare), and it comes with its unique challenges (these videos contain plenty of information covering those).
Container offices are popular and practical because they're easy to set up for something like a construction company with trucks on call and there are companies that produce and rent them.
Container homes aren't really popular anywhere, even for making sheds and garages the typical choice is finding other types of wood and metal prefab kits, though that is not to say they aren't cool and you shouldn't try it. If I didn't think they were neat I wouldn't be here, just settle your expectations.
I was a welder and fabricator for a long time and I can say that this gentleman is really know what he’s doing. I wish I have a space for this container. Thanks!
Thank you. That means a lot given I'm a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) by trade and learned everything the hard way on my own alongside some great welder/fabricator employees.
A complete shipping container conversion system is, of course, the way to go if you're diy and don't have any design/construction experience. These guys have done the heavy lifting and figured out solutions to the most basic conversion needs.
So glad RUclips recommended this channel as we're seriously thinking about a shipping container tiny house for our future.
Thank you Alan. You're a smart man! Each product is very front-loaded with engineering/design and prototyping costs. A lot of what we have developed was meant to assist ourselves in installing windows, doors & roll up doors as quickly as possible in Canadian winters with no painting required. What resulted is kits that are Do-It-Yourself worthy. I'm excited for you to watch our videos on our bolt-on double-wide kits (16'x20' and 16'x40' containers!)
@@TheContainerGuyTV Hey, that sounds like a good product as well. Looking forward to taking a good look at your entire product line & conversion videos. Very timely!
I just discovered your channnel I’ll be binge watching over the next several days blessings
Thank you so much for the support! Don't forget to check our channel every Friday!
Absolutely love this , I am about to make a 40ft container into my new Office building.....love all this. Thanks so much guys!
Such a great build thank you for sharing!!
I just started looking at your channel. Great work!
Great job! Thank you for good review!
This is pretty brilliant. Great work.
about to start my conversion and doing windows first. by far most helpful video.
Very detailed and instructional. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome video. I definitely want one of these soon.
brilliant kits for these requirements obviously from stacks of thinking and trials. great option to get your pre modded container for me.
This is brilliant, I may pick up a kit for my 40' high cube I want to convert into a shop.
the window kit is great as well as the door flashing.
Really like your presentation. Beautiful product. You really have figure this out. Very much like your sincerity.
Thanks for all the info on this channel.
Nice work guys. I put a 4.6 m slide door in one and the roof sagged. I noticed the ridges and valleys at the header spread out so I stich welded a 50X50X6mm angle iron along the head to the inside to stop the corrugations (ridges & valleys) from speading and it worked. I set a slight positive camber in there as well.
Very informative, given me great ideas, cheers buddy
Dang. Very impressive. Makes me want to buy a piece of land somewhere in the hills and do a shipping container with this mod kit. Thanks for sharing.
Literally why I'm here.
Nice piece of land, a roof. Just me on my own.
Nice video. Nice to know how things are done.
Fell in love with unistrut about 25 years ago. :)
I love the track system for supporting desks and pipe racks etc. You could even use it with track roller attachments to a make a gantry crane right down the center of the roof of the container.
We have a 20'HC in our yard right now with a gantry crane down the middle using this strut system. I could do a quick video tour of it if anyone's interested. It's pretty sweet.
@@TheContainerGuyTV I'd like to see that
Love your channel 😃👍🏾
Great video. Helpful & informative. I just love this idea! As a retired Trucker, I find the idea of a shipping container house very appealing! I own my own land with a pond & Mountain View’s. This project sounds perfect to me!
Great video, mate!
My First Time Watching Your Channel And I’m Absolutely Happy Because I’ve Never Seen Anything Like This Ever🧡💚🧡
Beautiful work my guy!
Thank you!
Awesome 👏🏼
Amazing! I want to build a tiny guest house for my family to visit!
man i remember you from the den, very well put together and thorough but this just shows you care about the customer. you show exactly what you are doing and why you are doing also not stopping other DIY people from doing it. cheers and great work!
Thanks! I appreciate that!
This is amazing! Exactly what I want to do with my life. Sweet channel bro.
You Sir, have just won yourself a subscriber to your channel, much respect from Papua New Guinea and the beautiful Pacific Islands 💯👍🇵🇬
I just got my 40ft container from Wuwi Shipping Container very cheap and even paid it upon delivery. cant wait to start working.
I need one of those containers. Insulate it, metal-stud frame it, drywall and put a stove in it. Yep 👍 I would hat channel it. I'm metal stud framer so I HV lots of ideas. I've seen job trailers at construction sites that use modified shipping containers. Nice idea about power in to the container.
Hi Milton. We have a mod right now that will not be insulated but needs to be lined with plywood. We're testing out the hat channels tomorrow actually. We're capturing video of the project. Stay tuned to the channel so you can tell us what we did wrong😆 Think we can glue them with PL to the putter corrugations?
Metal nibbles their like scissors great for that ,used to use them on corrugated on pole buildings.
This is a wonderful video. The video was informative and very helpful. Thanks for sharing your products. You did a great job. 👍 thanks for posting.
I'm impressed.
This is great!
What is the rattling sound through the whole video?! 🤣 great video tho! It's nice to learn shipping container lingo and seeing the underside of a container! Very helpful and insightful video. Thanks
Haha this is our very first video ever shot. It was the mic cable hitting the side of the go pro. We've learned a lot since then 🤦
Great job . I apreci8 the info. I planned to do a 20ft shipping container home for myself some day to come. These information will be just perfect for me. Tkx
Glad to help!
Just love this! I've always wanted to turn a container into an affordable living space. Do you have any vids on how you would finish the walls and door?
Evn to im not a tehnical person, i loved the attention to detail.
That is cool.
Sheer brilliance!! i salute you! 💪🏽🙏🏽👍🏽
Thanks. This was our first video.. they get better haha
Thank you for sharing GBU !!!
SUPER IDEA .POZDRAWIAM .
Very nice video.
Thanks!
The pre made window 👌👍
Nice, easy caulkJob?! ...best ever
This is amazing
Good video 👍 in the uk we call the spring nuts zebs or zebedees
Great video. Good tip on the bulb seal. Would a pair of tin snips help cut that a little quicker and cleaner? We're a continuous improvement company so we are always looking for a way to save even 2 seconds on something that we do more than once. Keep up the great work.
You bet. Thanks for the compliment and suggestion. I just didn't have a set in my tool belt. My pants are already getting heavy haha. A sharp knife blade would have helped too but snips are a safer option for cuts that don't need to be offset.
Genial saludos cordiales desde Patagonia Chile..
Thank you!
I’ve used unistrut to make roof racks, mount plywood to walls, ladders, it’s just as this guy says, Lego for big kids!
I love this channel
excellent
Very cool
Thanks!
Keep these vids coming.
🤙🤙
great video broh.... suka cara jelaskan ...
I think you need a couple more ads... love the product you make very cool process.
Thank you
YES
Wow. Can't believe it. Nice job. For all the things you did for this 20 ft container (windows, door, insulation foam, ...), how much one would have to pay for this alteration work ? I am curious to know since I want one.
Entre por accidente arte canal Y terminé suscribiendo amé Qué buenos videos Saludos desde Colombia🇨🇴👈

Thank you sir mabuhay po
I want one for my restaurant now😍
In general I think that you do a great job, but I would think that finishing the cut edges of the corrugation with a primer and rust preventative coating.
Thanks for sharing you knowledge and techniques.
Gary
most containers are made of corten steel that when rusted, makes a protective coating
Great job and great video. Thanks. I am trying to talk our band booster club into putting up a second concession stand because we are too slow serving people. A shipping container is certainly an option.
Our Kiosk Windows will be perfect for that application
@@TheContainerGuyTV I will check that out if there is any interest in doing this. Thanks.
I was invited to our booster club's next board meeting Nov 7. We will see how it goes.

@@TheContainerGuyTV Thanks.
Kickass video looking forward to more videos of my favourite you tube star 🤟🏻
Make sure to check in tomorrow! We will have a new video uploaded!
Great work. I'd love to have a couple 20 footers. What is roughly the cost of one done exactly like this?
His face when the door squeaks 😂
Haha I've never been a fan of nails on the chalkboard
I really like your videos and all the input you put out there for the public. Very informative and creative. And I hate to be negative, but at about 12.45 in your video you said you would have 2 inches of spray insulation. I have built quite a few of these, with spray foam and board foam insulation. Unistrut is 1 5/8" tall, the insulation thickness after completion is definately not 2" thick, possibly in the corners, but not consistent through out the unit. I do not care about the 2" statement of insulation coverage, but is the coverage shown in the video enough? I have never had to do one by code, but Im betting you have. What is acceptible?
So what do you do for a fire barrier for the foam insulation in order to meet code requirements?
Keep it going
Good Ole "death wheel" gets it done.
Best tool for the job
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤🕊
Awesome video never knew there were single use containers, I wonder if these come to Australia
its funny when the boys were angle grinding i could smell the burning corten steel, paint and sparks lol
Try a skil saw with a metal blade you get a lot more control and not as hazardous.
I think a double door hi cube 40 and a hi cube 20 combined would make a perfect living space.
You made everything look so simple😊Loved the way you explained it. How much do you charge for the container build out?
Glad I could help! The prices vary depending on the modification and the price of shipping containers and materials. We have a 2D planner site, PlanMyCan.com that you can use to start a container modification.
" Fired" an unfortunate choice in words but Great work guys ;)
That's an old video. Where did I say that? In what context? Curious..
@@TheContainerGuyTV you were talking about electrical connections i think its funny as hell
@@jefflowe8803 oh haha. Saskatchewan slang maybe..
Very informative and interesting. Please make a video about how to install a metal studs and drywalls
Hi Max. It's on our to do list to have a dedicated video installing steel studs. Just waiting for the next job that requires it. Until then, this video should help you: ruclips.net/video/ncIwCFHXN6A/видео.html
@@TheContainerGuyTV Thanks a lot! I’m starting my project with two 40ft container home soon, waiting for a building permit.. It’s gonna be a lots of fun!😅
Can you ship a container once it's all built out like this? Would you be able to haul it safely if it was full of cargo?
This is not meant to be filled with cargo
SIMPLE IZ BETTER.😮 ... NEARLY ALWAYZ 🎉
Can I get a finished one shipped just exactly like the one in this video. And how much would it cost?
Nice! What are you using to drill the holes?
Question-does the foam separate the interior strut from the inside of the exterior coragated steel wall? Otherwise there is cold bridging from the outside to the inside.
Why don't you put caulking behind the windows or doors frames to make it more water tight before you rivet or screw?
How about a detailed video showing the installation of metal studs into a container?
Great idea. The world needs to stop framing with lumber in containers. Next job we get we'll make a video specific to steel stud framing. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to us for any advice. www.tcg.ca
I am currently bidding a project with a shipping container modification. Wondering if you had to do all of the modifications to the actual windows and doors prior to install? Or, are there windows and doors available as "shipping container ready"?
Have you ever tried to use the strut as an electrical conduit? Originally unistrut set them up for that. Don’t know if it is still possible.
have you considered using a plasma cutter for the window's and door cut outs? would be easier, might be faster. I guess it depends on the person doing it. Just an idea.
dude, where are you? im a 3rd generation inspector. 20' is just a stepping stone. we can really do something here, are you hiring?
Saskatoon. Always looking for good people.
Just found your channel. What we would like to know is do you sell the containers as well and do you ship anywhere in the US? Also I see 20 ft so far in the videos. Do you have 40 ft?
I am curious about the interior insulation. What’s the R value on this container?
Do you have a video on just the electrical?
