Nice video entertaining
SWEET!!......got some new bones, was put on a healthy diet and lost 20lbs.......it's coming along great!!
Gotta keep it strong to put up with the abuse that’s coming it’s way!
Eyyy I got a shout out! Thanks fam. Sooo much work done. Next time for the middle just buy a huge section of C channel and replace the whole straight part, hahaha. Hopefully there is no next time though. Had fun at the junkyard! Truck is looking really good.
I thought about a c notch but I just wanted to be done haha
Forst.
My guy is on it haha!
What's up
Hi
Just so you know the ram nv3500 has a different shifter placement than the dakota nv3500. Just thought I'd let you know because I made that mistake already lol
I noticed this when looking for short throw shifters haha, apparently there’s 3 or 4 different heights depending on the truck they come in. Kind of a disaster lol
Awesome awesome awesome video mate. Canadian man here, definitely keep up the vids on this dakota. You definitely have some fans up here buddy.
Thanks!
Also the rear section of frame on first generation Dakota is same as the second gen 97-2004.
Yes it is, but i think they used heavier gauge steel for the V8 models, at least for the first 2 years of the 2nd gen.......but good to know!!
I was going to get Jeep Cherokee leaf springs
Jeep Cherokee springs are actually softer/weaker than the Dakota springs. A lot of jeep guys have issues with then breaking on high mileage units
Probably not a good idea then. I swapped to a 9.25 03 Durango disc rear end.
FYI. Phosphoric Acid (paint section at hardware store) will react with iron oxide(rust) stopping it from progressing. PHOSPHO used to be a brand name but I don't know if it is still a company. Spray it on heavy rust let it set overnight. In the morning wire brush the area to remove loose pieces. Then spray will cold galvanizing spray paint. If the rust reaction starts again the zinc in the cold galvanizing spray will bond to the iron oxides stopping the rust. Cover the area with under coating and it will never start to rust again. PHOSPHO is 30$ a gallon. Cold galvanizing spray is 10$ a can. Walmart sells under coating for less than 10$ a can. less than 50 dollars to permanently stop the cancer no rust converter needed.
Glad to see another vid. I need to address my body mount brackets also. Wish I could weld . I’m from Lansing Michigan and when I moved to Oregon I replaced my whole body on truck . So I cobbled them for now. Also wish I could find a steering intermediate shaft for a newer column I wanna use .
Our salvage yards here gave quite a few of these trucks, unless you’re trying to find an aftermarket steering shaft
@@RustBeltGarage1 salvage yards here don’t have anything at moment . I have the 87-90 column now. Doesn’t have tilt or intermittent wiper switch. I got a 91 column with all those upgrades but can’t use the intermediate shaft I have with my 87 column. So I been on the hunt
Gotcha, hopefully one comes up soon
5.9 head studs... little costly but you have spares and handles a lot more boost
I actually put some arp 5.2/5.9 head bolts in a few weeks back which will be in a video coming up here very soon. They don’t seem to offer a stud kit for the magnum heads for some reason but the bolts are a good upgrade still
ARP 144-4203 12-Point Head Stud Kit www.amazon.com/dp/B001T6CO5I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_R205Y1G194EJ91E9ZZTK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
We have a 5.9 with 2 cylinders missing
I think these studs only fit pre magnum heads
They fit. Watch racingramfam
The truck is lookin good! If you haven’t named it yet call it “Salty Cracker” 😆 Mine is “ The Experiment “ 🥴 🔧
I haven’t named mine yet surprisingly, I’ll have to consider this
