    i wonder if grand canals are basically train lines of the past but slower. i guess the benefit of them are less traffic, roads dedicated to cargo, water protects them from highway banditry, and barges are bigger than carriages of old

      @@gordonchao3074 are there ships faster than trains now?

    • @gordonchao3074
      @gordonchao3074 15 дней назад +5

      No, but ships can carry more cargo compare with train, in modern logistics, in most of the situation, time matters less in terms of its effects on cost when comparing with the amount of cargo that could be carried, by carrying more cargo, ships are usually more efficient than train. Also not sorry for any mistakes in grammar, I don't speak this language.

    Yang Jian, the 14th generation grandson of Yang Zhen, the Grand Commandant of the Han Dynasty, was the founding emperor of the Sui Dynasty. He was posthumously named Emperor Wen and temple name Gaozu. He was revered by nomadic peoples as the Saint Khan.

    你好,大运河扬州至淮安这段,应该是始建于春秋末期,公元前486年,当时吴王-夫差,北上争霸调集民工开凿邗沟,因途经邗城(扬州),故得名“邗沟”。

      조금더 부연 설명해주자면, 이후 수나라의 대운하 건설에 토대가 되었긴하지만
      수나라 당시의 대운하 만큼 규모가 그리 크진 않았다고 합니다

    육로 보다는 수로를 이용한 조세납부가 더 많은 양을 운송할 수 있으니까 . 옛날 사람들은 똑똑했지만 해적이라는 변수를 생각하지 못한게 아쉽다.

      @@NoobNo-eb8ut 의외로 해적이 많았다고 합니다. 그리고 일본해적이 운하를 따라 중국 내륙까지 들어와 약탈했다는 기록도 있어요. 물론 관군을 배치 했지만 저렇게 긴 운하 전체를 관리하고 지키는 것이 어렵다 보니까 상선이나 조운선이 해적을 만나면 일정 30~40% 를 해적에게 상납하고 통행 했다는 일화도 많았다고 합니다. 명나라 황제 주원장도 해적출신이였고요.
