I remember how eventually the automated station call system on the 01800 cars began to not work half the time; either it wouldn't do anything, or it'd call out the wrong stations, prompting the conductor to go on the P.A. and announce it himself/herself.
No wonder Frank Ogelsby did the Red Line first, the older recordings were definitely recorded at a much earlier era for the older trains compared to the later ones.
I like the 1800s better! I’m definitely going 2 miss the 1800 series when they retire in 2023! Not bad announcements on the 1900s either! I just like the sounding better on the 1800s better! Oh well at least we still have 2 more yrs B4 we have 2 say goodbye 2 them 4 good! The 01500s 01600s and 01700s I’m Definitely not going 2 miss those trains those trains are way overdue 4 retirement!
I Was just gonna say the same thing The 1994 01800 Bombardier Red line trains are still Active in service on the Red Line 2 this Day! The 1 thing I will say about the newer 1900 red line trains they’re trying 2 phase in is they do say the destination of this train is Alewife! Most of the time The 1800 trains Never Say the destination of this train is alewife! that probably is helpful 4 people who are new or not familiar with our transit system or whenever they turn the destination sign off & you don’t c the red destination letters the 1900s probably help people get 2 where they need 2 b!
I like both the old and new announcements. I don’t like the 01500, 01600, or 01700 Train 🚇🚇🚇 Announcements though. The 01800 and 01900 Train 🚇🚇 Announcements on the Red Line sound a lot better.
I am so glad I am working at home and driving a car during this pandemic out here in Ohio and not riding the T in Boston like I did years ago. The only time I wear a mask is in the grocery store or any other store.
I love when the 1800 says "the destination of this train is... ASHMONT" soooo goood
My favorite is the Kendall MIT Announcement then that pause: Then the abrupt MIT CAMBRIDGE CENTER!!!
@HighLife233 Me to I like it says the destination of this is…… ALEWIFE
I like both old and new announcements
I like having my car and driving honestly.
It kinda sounds like Darth Vader on the new red line
The only thing i like about the 1900s is how Frank Oglesby sounds like himself on the Blue Line 0700s
Frank's voice sounds better on the new train
The doors are sooo much wider on the new trains! Wow!

I remember riding the old 01800 series cars from Downtown Crossing to Kendall-MIT. The automated announcements worked perfectly.
I love the old design, but love the new interior I hate that you can't just combine the best things together
I like the 1800 announcements more in my opinion
No wonder Frank Ogelsby did the Red Line first, the older recordings were definitely recorded at a much earlier era for the older trains compared to the later ones.
I like the new red line announcements better
Awesome
I think the older one could either be different recordings of Frank Oglesby’s voice or a computer. The newer one for sure is Frank Oglesby.
The older one is Oglesby, he was just younger recording them
@@manfacedlordYea these were back in 1993-4 so that explains why
Great video

The 17s are only 32 years old, the 15s and 16s are 51.
1800s still kicking lol

Darth Vader should voice the red line since it’s red like the dark side
First
The orange line still has frank ogelsby

They should have reused the old announcements from the 01800 cars on the new 01900 cars…
I know Frank Oglesby. Who’s the other one? And the green line uses computer generated voices.
both are Frank
The announcements on the older trains are still Frank Oglesby but those were recorded back in 1993-4 when he was younger
the new one
