Those are all TRAXX-locomotives from Bombardier (now Alstom). The american ones are directly derived from the european TRAXX 1 and 2. Likewise the ACS-64 is based on the european Siemens Vectron family.
It’s a shame the bathroom looked the way it did. Looks like there was water sloshing around in the sink, hopefully it was just that! Everything else looked well-kept, though! Great video!
The main problem is the lack of deceny of some individuals that ruins the trains cleaniless. It is not just the toilets, also in the seating areas people litter and vandalism allot. There allot of options to throw your trash asway in and outside the trains on platforms there are enough litter bins. Its really a shame and sometimes as a driver I feel disgust about it. I have huge respect for our subcontract cleaners that work every day very hard to try to keep the trains clean.
With the amount of litter bins available aboard the trains and on platforms, it should be clear where people should put their trash. It’s unfortunate that the littering and vandalism still occurs regardless. Props to the cleaners for their hard work.
Does anyone have a clue why they use 2 locos instead of the driving trailer? I sucpect that the high speed line is equipped with ETCS which the 186 can suport but it is not fitted to most older driving trailers. One 186 would be plenty strong enough for the whole train. The UWEX (a fast regional train between Ulm and Wendlingen in germany, which runs over a new high speed line as well) uses 2 Vectrons one each end for that reason despite having a driving trailer (which is only used for bycicle storage, lacking in the other german IC-coaches).
I have tried to type a comment twice, but due to the ads, my comments keep getting deleted. Yep, the ICRmh cabcars aren't compatible with the TRAXX and the ETCS system. But they used to just use 1 TRAXX + 7 ICRmh railcars during the FYRA era. This was prone to technical difficulties with the locomotive switches at Breda and Amsterdam.
The driving trailers were constructed to work with the NS 1700 series locomotives. They can not operate with other types. Due to the age if the roling stick and it's upcoming replacement, they decided not to modify the driving trailers.
Could you do a San Diego Trolley Green, Blue, and Orange Lines and their new Copper Line. Could you do a report on the Sprinter and new Coaster Bombardier Series IX cars.
I'll be coming to Breda later this year as international student . We can book train tickets online as international for Amsterdam airport to breda or can directly book after arriving? 🤔
You can do either. NS will allow you to book tickets through their website with no issues, or you can purchase tickets at the station when you arrive. I recommend the former as it will let you plan a little further in advance, plus you can guarantee a seat on your desired train.
Very much a (very long) temporary measure (in part due to most carriages, lines and the legacy safety system being limited to 160). The replacements for this line have already started being introduced (200 kmph), and they will be doing higher speeds on some other lines sometime in the future as well. For these lines high speed (as opposed to higher speed) wouldn't make sense since this would only make a difference of a few minutes at a price increase significantly more than that. (I think it's also worth pointing out that due to our size difference we also don't have the same categorization system as Germany. Our Intercity includes the ICEs, IC direct, the regional train to Berlin, Regio Expresses, interregios and regular intercity trains)
Instead of those commercial breaks, You should inform the viewers that a supplement MUST be payed between Rotterdam and Schiphol when using the High Speed Line! With an even higher rate during peak times!! No supplement payed, is considered having no ticket and a high fine can be applied !! And that you NOT have to pay the supplement between Breda and Rotterdam and NOT beween Schiphol and Amsterdam. By reviewing the same red seat twice ( did you really they would be different??), you missed the highlight of the route, the passing over the Hollands Diep on a bridge, higher than the oringinal one, next to it. A shot of the second class seating is missing too... If I see these mistakes in a video of my country, I can not trust the info on routes I do not know about. Therefore: subscribtion withdrawn. (P.S. Since 9 viaducts on the HSL had crackes found due to wrong installment, all trains are now only running at 120 km/u max between Schiphol and Rotterdam since januari 2024)
Their locos remind me a bit of NJT's ALP-45's and newer ALP-45DP's here in Jersey.

If it was something other than water you probably would have smelled that before even opening the door.
Yup lol. Either or, not pleasant.
I like the station design in the Netherlands. Also the colour scheme used by NS. Would you happen to know why they don't use EMU's?
The locomotive hauled sets are being phased out in favor of the new NS IC Next Gen EMUs manufactured by Alstom.

The locomotive pulling your train looks similar to a NJ Transit ALP-46, are they made by the same manufacturer?
Yes they use the same manufacturer BOMBARDIER if im correct

While I would love to do all of those, I am not based in the area.
The train on the thumbnail is a diffrent one and picture made in belgium

11:10 A southbound “Eurostar Red”
Thalys kinda doesn’t exist anymore due to the merger with Eurostar.
Yeahhhhhh, I still call it Thalys
@@LonestarTripsAs you should. We all do that here as well 😂
You call a Volvo, Tesla too??
@@LonestarTrips
@@Keikdv If Volvo bought out Tesla, it'd still be a Tesla. Eurostar bought out Thalys, but it's still a Thalys train.
160 kph is high speed? Thst is regional train speed here in germany
