Is it worth it to drop the bones on a new bike? Been looking to get one for a hot minute. Used to run a VTX 1800 till a friend laid it down and totalled it.
it doesn't take a 1000 miles to brake in an engine, it only takes about 50 miles to seat the rings, and that's it your done. I have built all types of engines and race for over 20 years.
It actually takes 500-600. Im sure the manufacturer and engineer who designed and made this particular bike knows more then you. No bike break in is 50 miles, you must be smoking something good. Your engine probably ticks like a b. Some people are just impatient and try to justify their stupid actions. Its not just about the rings but so that everything goes together smoothly, gears etc. you probably have had to tale your bike to get “warranty” work a BUNCH of times. 🤡🤣
@@BlancoFlaco im sure all the teeth on the gears inside the tranny are working great! Im sure the clutch is working great! Just because your rubber orings are ready, doesnt mean the rest of the internals are. Cool story!
curious what Chris thinks about what Harley says as far as the break in procedure recommendations. Dealer told me no same speed riding, no cruise control for the first 300 miles. The manual says 500. Would love to see a video of Chris talking about this and maybe even doing a little breakdown of your motor to see what if any good or bad things he finds.
when I bought my 2021 Street Bob, I was told the same thing, but I also bought it from a dealership about 2 hours away from where I lived because a friend worked there and hooked me up. I told them during the sale that I was going to be driving it down the highway for 2 hours, and they said as long as I don't get it consistently above 3000rpms it should be fine.
Honda makes great bikes. So does Yamaha. Most of their bikes aren’t really cornering the same market as Harley though. I guess maybe the goldwing, but that thing has a terminal case of the ugly.
