In fact the social skills and being cooperative part would have to be the reason sakura was put in the group, though she really had no desire to be a ninja at her young time, she proved that she was very smart and had decent social skills and symbolized as a teacher's pet unlike shikamaru who was probably smarter then sakura, but too lazy and rather be alone then with others. If anything they probably picked her to team up with naruto and sasuke in hopes of helping both being cooperative with others. The only problem with that though was she only liked sasuke and disliked naruto. So she really didn't play her one role of the group, and just kept being useless and a pain for viewers to have to watch

I wanted to like Sasuke. And in the beginning I understood his emotions over his family and his hatred for Itachi. But oh my god did he turn into a massive emo character who by the end, besides his abilities, didn't develop what so ever and was suddenly back on team 7. As though he didn't just try to kill sakura and kakashi. I just couldn't stand him. Genuinely the only Sasuke I have come to like is him in the Boruto movie. There he still is reserved and cool but has a warmth and care to him. Fucking finally.

Actually about #7 Sasuke's sword (also a named Kusanagi no Tsurugi) is said to be able to cut through almost anything and a reappearing characteristic is that his sword is seemingly indestructible, as it has withstood prettymuch any assult it had to take.
