  • In this episode I will show you how to make ABS juice and i will explain the pros of using it. Since I've started using ABS juice in my glass bed I've had 100% adhesion and zero warping.

    as it's drying you can scrape the backside a little bit together so you create a tab that you can pull when ur print is done.

    Great tutorial. I’ve always used hairspray up until I had a difficult shape to print in ABS with a very low ambient temp. I got it printed using the ABS juice. Really chuffed that it worked when nothing else did.

      Thanks Simon! Absolutely! Hairspray works very well with PLA but ABS Juice is a must for ABS prints in my opinion! I'm glad this has helped you with your prints!👌🏼👌🏼

    Abs is the less hygroscopic of all plastics in the market i dont need to dry the filament and i live in a humid country that's the reason i love to work with these filament is completely tolerant to humid conditions, and love to use scraps to make abs juice agree with you the best glue to work with

    stick is simple...heat up to 80 rub hot melt glue stick on plate then turn off bed print cold ...plastic will bond to hot-glue..when finished heat up bed to release and if you still find edges start to lift hot-glue them down...!

    This is a really good tutorial!!! Especially for those who just start using ABS and find that it floats over the bed like a snowboarder :)
    A few questions if anyone can answer please: Is a glass bed suitable for ABS? (My magnetic pad doesn't hold the ABS right now)
    I put my ABS in acetone for 30 minutes and it didn't melt. It gets softer and that's it.
    I just received this wire and it says on the package: "CR-ABS".
    I hope it's not some weird ABS compound.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

      Yeah the glass bed works very well with abs. I had no problems. You either got some weird abs mix or your acetone is not strong enough I would say. Wish all the best 👍🏻

    Hi, you did a really good job!
    I have a question: how do you prevent the ABS juice from making Bubbles when you start printing? With the heat of the bed my ABS juice always bubbles.

    • @evosgarage
      @evosgarage  2 года назад +2

      Hi! Thanks for watching 👌🏼 from my experience I would say that if it is bubbling is probably because you've applied to much. Try applying only a thin layer! Hope that helps!

    Did you do any upgrades on the ender? Seams like it completely stock. I want to start trying out printing with abs and heard a lot about the fact "you must upgrade... Blablabla" so I was wondering if you have done anything.
    Also could you share your settings for the slicer and Wich one you use 😊

    • @evosgarage
      @evosgarage  3 года назад +2

      The only thing I did was I built an enclosure. That way you can have a stable environment for the printer. ABS doesn't like temperature changes at all, otherwise it tends to crack, warp or the filament just won't fuse. Since I've built the enclosure I've been printing ABS as easy as you probably print PLA.
      I use Cura, the settings are mostly different for each part I need to print, it depends on the shape, orientation, support, etc
      The temps I'm running when I print ABS are 258°C nozzle and 110° bed. That seem to be the sweet spot for ABS in my experience! 👌🏼
      Thanks for watching

      I still have to wait for some parts, like the glass bed and the pi the get octopy ready and some stuff for the enclosure
