They seemed to get on alright ish to start with. Bit of indifference towards each other’s music in some ways if you read the nme interview (also features Jarvis) . I dunno if Justine and Damon were always snooty about oasis behind their backs though from what she said much later. She recalled Damon saying the cigarettes and alcohol demo sounded really baggy or whatever but with a tone like he was immediately threatened or knew he was gonna have competition from something more rock n roll. Anyway it really turned nasty when Noel said that thing about aids so who’s surprised she’s slagged them off since more and Noel doesn’t like them. Anyway Who gives a real poo it was a real fun era and I love elastica , blur and oasis. She definitely didn’t get the last laugh though because while she sneered at oasis their impact is sustained massively and the simplistic beauty of wonderwall is it’s charm. I mean it’s funny that they say anyone can cover it but for me it’s Liam’s voice that makes it.
tita4ewaz urm the guitar work is simplistic beauty and Liam’s vocal is the opposite of emotionless either way It’s a great song and a much bigger hit than anything she could ever do. But yeah I do like them all anyway they’re all great and very different.
@@tita4ewaz when I said Liam’s voice makes it I meant it makes it amazing really, it’s still a beautifully crafted song and I love the lyrics , I think Liam’s voice gives it an edge that saves it from being too sappy but it is an emotional song that would be less so if it wasn’t simple , like I say that’s sort of the point. People might think Wonderwall is overplayed etc which takes away from its shiiiiiiiine perhaps (not for me) but anyone that thinks it’s rubbish cus it’s simple might be just that themselves, or bitter in her case (see her on the pop programme with Bob geldof and jo Wiley) she sounds like she’s had a side order of sour grapes with her smack. You don’t need to read books to make great songs 🤣😂
I agree but he is also right!!! The first album especially, very simplistic aside from mayybbe some elements of Indian song and Never Here, the rest could've been Oasis songs, just get a different guitar and Liam's voice
I'm always amazed that Wonderwall experienced the commercial success that it did. It was painfully basic. While I'm not surprised that this sort of disrespect would come out of the mouth of a Gallagher brother, it is disappointing to hear a member of a band that I enjoy (their first two albums at least) be this rude to the Queen of Britpop. I suppose Justine and Elastica may have had the last laugh, as this would have been around the time "Be Here Now" was being recorded. It was all downhill from there for Oasis. Sad as their first album is a classic.
Painfully basic? Have you ever heard a Bob Dylan song? It doesn’t matter if it’s basic, it matters if it’s good. Elastica were shit, and they only got big cos she was with Damon, I know that sounds anti feminist, but it’s true. The britpop movement had 3 or 4 good bands spearheading it, the rest were utter shite that wouldn’t see the light of day now.
You can say that about any song lol. Wonderwall is far far from my favourite song but if became a classic for a reason. Whether you like it or. It there’s a reason I say this as a fan of elastica
@@louiseanders535 because 2 songs didn’t do much for me. Maybe anything was a strong word. I don’t think wonderwall or roll with it are as good as other songs on the first 2 albums. Maybe I just heard them both too many times. I maintain roll with it isn’t one of their best. Cast no shadow for example is amazing
Oasis fan aswel but would agree wonderwall isn't bad just victim of over play, roll with is had and just didn't age well sounds like status quo, she's electric also hasn't aged well.
I literally can't stand Noel or Liam Gallagher. Out of the top four bands that where put in the same music category from that time Pulp, Blur, Suede or Oasis I'll always say Suede every time. Still a Suede fan & always will be

I think Jo and Noel get on alright nowadays.
I think J is right cause she was speaking on the guitars cause to your point it was Liam’s voice and to Just’s point not the guitars

Justine loved Noel
Both bands are tribute acts. Do you want a Wire cover band or a Ruttles cover band?
if you were right they would be seen as a parody…. but your wrong.
you don’t like either band but you clicked on this video? melon
I love Elastica and didn't like Oasis past Supersonic. Being high off your ass and thinking you're the Beatles is pretty uninspiring too.
Agreed
not really: its a good starting point .....what have u accomplished?
@@iggypopisgod9 my my we are so defensive 😆
definitely maybe is a 10/10, literally no bad or average songs on there.
Elastica who ?
She's right about Wonderwall though. It's boring.
So as her songs so non of them are right lmaooo
I don't understand that opinion at all. Incredible song.

Oasis. The luckiest band in the world.
Naaaaaaaaaaaaaah, part of their talent was instinct. It's not for nothing.
@@duncefunce1513 Oasis are the McDonald's of music.

Elastica were an average indie band long forgotten ,they wouldn't have even been average if she wasn't fucking Albarn.
The guy can hardly put a logical statement together. C'mon mate! LOL!

"Justine and Elastica may have had the last laugh". Yeah, obviously given they were smacked off their tits for most of the late 90s.

I say this as a fan of elastica
i feel like all classics are somewhat basic. same can be said for blur’s song 2
Wonderwall is the 4 Non Blondes with a Brit accent. THat's pretty heinous
Why should you pick a band based on the sex of the members? BBC playing the identity politics card early.
dont talk nonsense. you sound like some dumb far-right fruitcake.
I’m a huge oasis fan but wonderwall never did anything for me. Nor roll with it. Elastica were ducking ace

roll with it lol
