I do think Drake has a better singing voice, though. Which is what allows him to make decent r&b music. When it comes to rap, I don't think it's close at all. Kendrick is far above. This battle showed just how unique Kendrick truly is. Each of the songs that he released from the writing, production, and performance were all different.

The idea that people would stop listening to Drake if he were labeled as a “pdf” is ironic. R. Kelly had a tape with a 16-year-old, yet he was celebrated for years, making hits like ignition remix,Same Girl with Usher, Trapped in the Closet, and the Make It Rain remix. It wasn’t until recently that his legacy crumbled. Meanwhile, Drake has been seen kissing a 17-year-old on stage and texting a 13-year-old about boys. In a rap battle, being called a “pdf” is justified . The “Certified Lover Boy” flip to “Certified Pdf” was a clever and sharp play on his album title.

So you give Jay the benefit of the doubt because you think HE believed what he said, but call Kendrick a liar when he's addressing an issue that has been existing for years, one that the media and general public alike have discussed and criticized at length... Just because you refuse to believe or even consider that Drake might be such a person. I am pretty sure there is a reason many people, some who don't even care about hiphop, sided with Kendrick from the start: Whether it's his lyrics, his lifestyle, his entourage or the varying testimonies we get from artists who collaborated or interacted with him, everything points out to him being a twisted individual.

Toure needs to ask Drake for HIS receipts on Kendrick’s son’s paternity since he claims his son is actually Dave Free’s. While he is at it, he should also ask for the evidence that Whitney had an affair with her bodyguard and Kendrick beating her up. Let’s keep it cute across the board or not at all. I actually used to REALLY respect Toure but this was sad to watch. The other guy was at least fair and balanced, Toure had his freshly laundered OVO cape on! No! And then they wonder why people no longer respect or see any credibility in so called “hip hop media”. In what world is being labeled a wife bearer and your toddler son’s paternity questioned or your wife being disrespected by saying she has so little morals she slept with your best friend and her bodyguard then passed a son that wasn’t yours onto you? But this creep with questionable behavior with minor girls has been treated so badly not egregious AF? I can’t!!

  • @MrZakXero

You’re being way too charitable to drake and I’m trying to understand why. Drake himself was literally the first one to bring it up in the AI song because he knew that’s the word around. There are so many weird cases that it’s not that much of leap for Kendrick to say that.
There are like 3 girls that’s he knew when they were 16, Justin biebers girl that Bella Harris I think her name is and another I can’t think of off the top of my head, then dated them as soon as they turned 18.
I think the visceral reaction we have is because when someone says PDF file, you think of little kids which I don’t think anyone thinks drake is into, but it puts him into a weird spot because what is he going to do argue semantics lmao there’s no more sure fire way for people to be positive you’re one

This is nothing new, but it took Kendrick to keep saying it during a time millions were listening to get people’s attention. Here we are people still questioning it. The list of people still saying they believe R Kelly. Some people taking up for Diddy. What is wrong with our society? Children are not safe.
I also believe Drake has an 11 year old. He was likely having s@x with every female willing and likely unprotected. It was at the beginning of his career. I think Kendrick wouldn’t completely expose her because of the nut jobs on the internet and she’s a kid. Probably got more kids than her that he doesn’t claim. Men do it everyday.

Kendrick uses his voice in the same way that the very best Jazz singers do.
His voice is an instrument, but he's also constantly adjusting which instrument, i.e. sometimes he's part of the rhythm section, sometimes he carries the melodic lines, sometimes he syncopates, at other points he's setting the time...
The "wap, wap, wap...," line is a perfect example. I hear it on multiple levels, because it's using sound to give us a visual image (of Kendrick beating Drake's ass lol), but it also functions very much like scat singing. It's communicating rhythm but also the level of emotional intensity; it's the rap equivalent of a preacher catching the holy spirit & speaking in tongues.

It's important to recognize that music artists like Kendrick Lamar engage with a variety of collaborators for reasons beyond personal opinions or judgments. Working with Kodak Black, Dre or Future doesn't necessarily equate to endorsing their actions or beliefs. It could be a strategic decision based on artistic vision, industry connections, or even social commentary. It's crucial to separate an artist's musical collaborations from their personal values or public statements, as these are complex individuals who navigate a multitude of relationships and projects.
