All right, all right, I have to admit, I'm biting my upper lip. I just shot a bunch of Sedona drone footage, and after watching this, I want to throw rocks at my footage. My footage is pretty smooth, but that's sure not the whole story here, is it. Your moves and video skills are superb. My main takeaway here, on just a few aspects of your footage, is you're closer for the most part on your shots, your shots themselves are really compelling, with great movement, your color of the rocks is great, just to name a few. Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm learning a lot here and truly enjoy your great video. Marc T./
Hey Marc! Thank you so much for the comments, I really appreciate that! I believe personally that flying closer and lower is the best drone view. It’s something you could only capture with a drone. There’s truly no place like Sedona! Keep flying and with practice you’ll make perfect!
Amazing scenery and rock formations. Awesome area to go to. That sink hole looked pretty crazy, i3 assume thats what it was, although it looked pretty well established and the river towards the end looked beautiful.

I LOVE Boynton Canyon and I would love to fly there but it is against FAA regulations. I might be able to fly close to there and film it from the outside

Drones are a lot of fun man it’s definitely worth it to start flying! Look into a DJI drone they are the best to start with!
Stunning footage.. Can you recommend some take off landing spots for the locations you flew from?
I use apps like AirMap to help figure out where to takeoff from, it will show you where you can, and cannot fly!

thats a great video. Just curious to know , if these areas require special permits to fly drones or are they open to recreational flyers ?
Thank you so much! The areas I flew in this video are open to both part 107 and recreational flyers. AirMap is what I use to check the airspace. There are locals that do not like drones and will tell you what your doing is illegal. It is not as long as you are complying with federal guidelines as the FAA is the sole government agency that controls airspace. People can stop you from taking off from private property but public property is fair game as long as you follow the rules. My advice to you if you fly there is to be mindful of people on the trails and don’t disturb people hiking. Get your shots but don’t mess around too much just to avoid conflict with angry people that don’t like what your doing and most important use AirMap and follow all FAA guidelines! Otherwise it’s a great place to fly and get incredible footage/photography.

There are many wilderness zones where drones are prohibited. How were you able to avoid those? Were you able to get any videos from Devil's bridge hike? Any advice helps. Thank you
Hey Yana! Thanks for the comment and great question. There are many places you can fly in Sedona. Use apps like Opensky and AirMap to see where you can and can’t fly. I have not flown at devils bridge because this area is prohibited for drones but the areas you see me flying in the video were good to fly when recording, but please use the apps always before each flight just to know for sure. If you don’t think you’ll have service make sure to check before hand. I hope this helps!

Hi there. Do you know if you need any approval to fly in sedona arizona with mavic mini? Thank youu
With any drone that you ever fly in the US, you do need approval in areas that require approval. I would recommend downloading AirMap or Kittyhawk. These are federal databases that tell you where you can and cannot fly and allow you to apply for authorization in areas that allow it. I have plenty of videos on my channel about AirMap.
