Mike, thank you for being so kind as to produce your videos in English. I find them informative and educational. And your production quality is top notch.
Good review I also bought a Shad seat for my NC750X it fitted perfect but like you the rear seat was a bit sticky so I changed the seats pop up springs to The Honda ones on the original springs, I think the Shad rear seat springs a a bit weak. Since using the honda seat springs the rear seat pops up perfectly I hope this will help you.
Hello! I've just installed the seat. Is far more comfortable than the original one. I noticed that the stitching of the back seat on the left side doesn't align with the one in the front. That quit annoys me... and i have exactly the same problem when opening the gas tank...
Very usefull video, thanks for sharing with us! To be honest in my case the Sw-Motech traveller seat pad cushion fixed the confort issue with less money. Also for me and for my pillion. I come back after long term use with full opinions. Greetings!
Glad I saw your comment about there being a supplementary cushion. I am considering this bike, but I have heard that the seat is not good enough for most people on an extended ride. Thanks.
Nice, clear and well-spoken videos. Good job. Regarding the seat comfort, height and slope, Shad does not solve all problems. Height will remain the same as well as slope. Comfort will improve. Solution? Perhaps tailor-made set? I am thinking of taking my original seat to polster guy, who removes the original surface material and changes the slope a little. Also 3-5cm raise is on the wish list. My guestion before doing this: I am 186cm and if I assemnle 2,5-3,5cm bar raisers and SW Motech adjustable footpegs along with aimed 3-5cm raised seat, is there something I should take into consideration before all this? I am planning this to ease the pressure in my lower back. Last summer was a bit painful :))
Based on your helpful video I too purchased a SHAD comfort seat. The fit & finish is flawless, which pleases me no end, as I have seen others suggest theirs showed an unacceptable gap where the seat meets the frunk. The fitting instructions state that the springs and washers from the original seat should be utilised on the SHAD and, so far, it is opening and closing perfectly. Even the stitching matches perfectly where front and rear seats overlap. The real test will be how comfortable it is. Fingers crossed it’ll be a big improvement. 🤞
Thank you. I am considering this bike, but I have heard that the seat is one of its few weak points. I need a seat that is at least as comfortable as the 2013 Suzuki V-Strom's OEM seat. I had that V-Strom, but like a fool I swapped it for a new Yamaha Tmax in late 2018 (to go clutchless due to hand pain), but I don't ride it as it's a disappointing bike. If only I had just gone from the V-Strom to the 2018 NC750X DCT, I would have saved myself a considerable loss of money.
If you are 5 foot 10 inches (178 cm), are your feet flat on the ground with the NC750X (2014), which has a seat height of 32.7 inches (830 mm)? My inseam is 29.5 inches (75 cm).
@@alexanderrodriguez6012 I am 5'9 with shorter legs at 30" inseam and Im on my tippie toes with boots. I had to lower mine about 2" to flat foot it. Lowering it is good anyways as You will get better fuel mileage.
FinnMike on a Bike I did 🤣 but I got a very good offer for the Shad seat 100€ (used) and since I’m not getting any younger I decided to get one for my trip to Morocco 🇲🇦 next month ;) we will see...
I highly doubt it. I bought the seargent seat and it sill sucks. After a half an hour my adductors are screaming at me to get off the bike. Its the only thing I cant stand about this bike but I love everything else about it. I am about to try a complete custom stuffing and wrap around the original seat. Honda screwed up so bad on this seat.
I have the same problem with the seat, only to close the seat I have to pull it hard to the right and to open it, I have to press as you do to release it.
This is the first time I hear about problems closing it also ... Maybe I should have a look if something can be done to get rid of the problem. Thanks for sharing !!
It seems this seat is no longer available for the NC 750 I have looked everywhere including searching the part number and still can't get one, anyone help?
The Shad seat does not change the slope, but as it's softer you don't slide as easy. If your main aspect is to change the slope angle, the Shad seat won't fix it. But it has made my ride much more comfortable.
I have also fitted this shad seat to my nc but still have the slope adjustment mod as shown by nc750xstuff and others. Finished result probably does not look as neat as shown on this video but it is good enough. I removed the shad pillion as it also stuck when shut and I did not want to risk being unable to refuel.
@@ccooper8785 In the UK the bike will fail the MOT with the seat configured like that. It's OK if you can fashion something else around the tang to hold the seat down. Tyre Mechanic told me this when I had new tyres put on. I have got a bit of wear on the base of the tang as the chair ferrules have compressed a bit due to my weight. So all we have to do is switch it back to normal for an MOT.
Ordered mine for £213.84 from Fast Bike Bits. Not so fast though 1-3 week wait for the seat to arrive with them. 2 weeks in. Looking forward to it though.
hi i love the look of the nc i think its the best value bike honda make at present. that seat looks great.i am considering a change to one but am concerned about its modest power output. i ride a honda firestorm at present and have done for more than 20 years. while the storm isnt the worlds most powerful bike it does have a good amount of torque. i suppose really a test ride would alleviate concerns but would appreciate the feedback of an actual owner especially anyone who has moved from more powerful bikes to the nc750.
Hello Phil, I have never had very powerful bikes, so I can't comment on that. But I rode the AT and NC the same day and I actually liked the NC better on curvy roads although the AT has twice as much power. Here is my opinion of the bikes: ruclips.net/video/8LItgDwbnmQ/видео.html

I really miss the bike because it handled well and saved me a lot in fuel. Now, I am thinking of getting another as a second bike (I currently ride a Vstrom DL1000). I like the Shad and looking forward to your review of long rides using it. I am interested in an all day ride on the Shad if you can do it. Thanks for the videos and look forward to your review.
It's a shame that the seat ergonomics is the major reason to sell this bike. I have done some riding with the Shad and there really is a difference. The long distance review is coming up soon, but I want to do a full two day weekend in the saddle before releasing the review so that I am sure about the improvement.
