Just for information, I have a 2019 NC and have shad 23 panniers fitted with no issues. Will provide pics etc if required.

I’ve got the 3p with the Sh36s on the Tracer 700. Just fitted them and I just love how discrete they are. When I bought the bike it came with the Yamaha OEM scaffolding for their tiny semi soft panniers which were quite rubbish tbh. Couldn’t even fit my son’s pocket trumpet for the school run and putting them on/off was a chore. Key was the usual naff Yamaha key made of tin foil which bent easily. Yamaha OEM hard panniers cost and arm and a leg and required new scaffolding, not having that.
So off came the Yamaha kit and on went the Shad. Cost about 1/3 of the Yamaha solution, gives me more space than I rightly need and when the boxes are off (80% of the time) it doesn’t look like I work for a window company. Love it.

Brill on mine they are slightly wider than the mirrors and handle bars so I'm conscious about that when filtering. But I agree the frames are Brill and the main reason I bought them 👍 with the panniers off they still look OK 😀

I have the SHAD panniers and a SH37 top box for my lid. They all come off and on easy once you've used them a few times. I have the inner bags for the panniers....really great...fill them up and stuff them in, no problem. Handy to fill in the house then take out to the bike....or carry in and out when on tour :-) good luck...enjoy.

Thanks Jaffa I'm looking at the inner bags but need to wait until funds build up 😀 Good to hear they loosen. Have you had any issues with the handle/latch it may be it also needs to loosen but it seems very stiff.

@@terrysmith-NC750X no issues with the release handle...it is stiff but thats a good thing when you think about it as its the mechanism holding the panniers on :-) once you know you just give them a decent pull but I really don't find them a problem. Oh and like you I really like the 3 point system as the mounting frame lines fit in nicely with the bike.

Cheers it feels like it will break but is obviously OK. Thanks

I had sent an email to SHAD asking them about the SH23, they claimed that offically it wasn't compatible, but that some NC users added a washer to the 3P system to get the clearance needed (2021+ models). I wanted the 23's for the top opening.

This is very useful! I've just bought a used 2021 model manual transmission (to replace my stolen 2019 DCT....). This 'bike came with a Shad SH48 top box, which I would like to retain. As you mentioned in your commentary, the SH35 panniers are quite wide, although they look good. My challenge is identifying alternative but narrower hard luggage compatible with the Shad rear carrier framework, if possible.

The SH23 are slimmer although as I was advised they fail the grab handle so I've been told. So be aware of that. If you want shad I think your limited to the SH35 and 36s but have a look at the Terra panniers, expensive but they may suit if the mounting system fits the nc. Post an update here if you find out anything else that suits 👍

Thanks, Terry. That's all useful information for me as I'm currently deciding which luggage, panniers and topbox, to get for my NC.

Cool there are other types so shop around. This was just the version I choose. Let me know what you choose👍

Hi Terry. Full face helmet will fit in the SH36 pannier and they will fit on easier in time. 👍

Hi Rich, that's good to hear. I choose the SH35 purely on looks, 🤔 maybe I should have gone for the sh36 instead. But we are where we are 😀

Nice one Terry. I've checked the SH35's out but feel they are too wide. I'm plumbing for the Hepco & Becker X Travel with the C-Bow fitting. A slimmer fit and allows for more confident filtering. They have less capacity but hehe. Top access also.

Hi Tony I'll see how I get on with them, but made my choice and too expensive, for me, to change now. Although I will look at the c-bow fitting, see if I should have chosen different. Always the way with me, I buy something and see something better or cheaper 5 mins later 🤣🤣

I've heard that the sh23 will fit if you either use spacers or if you replace the side grab rails with the shad rear carrier.
I intend giving it a shot with my NC700s but I won't be mounting a top box. I'll use the carrier to lash the tent etc on.

I have a 23 model NC with the SH45 top box, did not have to remove the side grab rails. But I have also heard some reports on the net about people using spacers on the SH23 and made them fit. But I have not seen any photo evidence yet ;-)

Hi Terry, I have the same panniers and a top small top box to store my full face helmet. A thin smear of red rubber grease on the pannier mounts works wonders. I have not noticed any aerodynamic issues with these, although like you point out they are strangely angled on the bike. Do you find the cool cover on your seat more comfortable?

    • @terrysmith-NC750X
      @terrysmith-NC750X  Год назад

Hi Sue thanks for the rubber grease tip 👍 the comfort with the cool cover is not really noticeable, perhaps I need to take it off for a good comparison,. Do a back to back ride. I am impressed that it keeps you dry as the water just flows away. Its worthit just for that. 😀
