  • Full instalation guide for Shad SH35 or Shad SH36 panniers to a Honda NC750X. Though fitted to a 2021 model I believe this guide should be the same for the model 2016 onwards.

    This has been really helpful. I’ve been installing the 3p rack and Shad panniers in the garage today on my 23 NC and been using this as a guide as the kit instructions are not the best. Cheers

    Great Vid. I'm getting ready to order a 2024. So glad I saw this. I'll be getting a set of these before I get the bike...lol

      They are very good, just look a little big at the back….wouldn’t put me off buying them again though.

    These would have been my choice had I known about them. They look great.
    I ended up fitting the Givi ones and had a hell of a time trying to make them look right,
    ended up having to chop the rack mounts with an angle grinder and re weld so as the panniers fitted snug and parallel to the bike.
    This meant with skinny panniers they were no wider than the bars, great for filtering.

      I fitted the trekker 33ltr panniers to my 2016 NC750X and they were a tidy fit once on, def no wider than the handlebars. I wonder if the fittings have changed on the 2021> bikes ? Which Givi panniers did you fit?

      @@whojamaflip1 Okay short story long, I originally cut and welded the rack up to suit e36 panniers but then realised I’d screwed up and wasn’t going to want to use the bike with such big panniers sticking out.
      I then bought some E 22 panniers which luckily fitted just right.
      They are 800 wide and sit parallel so they’re almost touching the grab rail at the Forward edge

    Why do most manufacturers insist on this fold-out opening design? A top loading pannier is infinitely more practical and easy to use.

    • @whojamaflip1
      @whojamaflip1  2 года назад

      Givi Trekker panniers offer a nice mix of side opening and top opening, but I don't think they really suit the latest NC750X looks wise, the bike is too road focused and the panniers look too adventure focused.

      With my limited experience and having no choice ( panniers came with bike ) my method is to find a bag that will fit pannier fully loaded and always use it, nothing falls out and pannier straps hold secure when hatch open!

    Nice video. I have the same bike and color. They fit very well. What mount is it for them? Do you have name and number?

      Sorry, I don’t have the details, but they are just the standard Shad fitting kit and you should be able to find details on their website

    I fitted the smaller Shad panniers to the previous model NC and they also taper (they look like air brakes ☹).
    It is a pity that Shad have not changed the mounting angle for the new model.
    The Honda panniers are definitely better but £1000 is absolutely ridiculous and completely unjustifiable.

    You didn’t show the most tricky part. How did you dissasemble the left sides original foot pag screw on it?

    • @whojamaflip1
      @whojamaflip1  2 года назад

      On my bike the rear foot peg was held on with a metal peg, washer and a split pin. I simply removed the split pin and washer, then held the foot peg in place while I swapped the peg for the bolt. I guess if you remove the peg entirely it could be more complex as there is some type of spring mechanism in there. But because I swapped it out so easily I didn’t think to mention it in the video.

    Shen the panniers are locked, I understand that they can’t be removed from the mount then. Is that right?

    • @whojamaflip1

      That’s correct.

    Some people claim to have mounted SH23 panniers on 21- models. Is that possible without to much modifications?

    Can you link your cameras or give the model, please. I know you said it aloud but I'm having a hard time finding it. It may be due to the fact that I'm in the US... Thanks for making this, btw!

    • @whojamaflip1

      The cameras are - Make: Blueskysea, model: B1M.
      If you have a look at my channel I’ve uploaded a couple of videos on fitting and also some footage videos.
      I got them from EBay, last time I checked they were available in the UK, but a lot are shipped direct from China, so I would have thought you could get them shipped to the US.
      The B1M is the only model they do for bikes which has no screen - which is what attracted it to me, but they do others which have screens. I haven’t tried them, but I do have a Blueskysea Dashcam in my car which is very good too.
      Hope that helps

    Hi, how wide is the bike with them on?

    • @whojamaflip1
      @whojamaflip1  2 года назад +3

      The bike is just under 1 Meter at the widest point with the panniers on. The handlebars are about 80-85cm, so It does add a little width. I measured it against my Africa twin with its Givi TRK33N panniers fitted as a comparrison. That was also 1 meter wide (handlebars closer to 90cm) and I've filtered etc on that bike without much issue. So it isn't actually that wide, I think it just looks it due to the way they sit on the bike.

      is it possible to fix the pannier rack on the inside of that fixing bracket. possibly pulling it in closer to the bike. ?
      Good job.

    • @whojamaflip1
      @whojamaflip1  2 года назад

      @@iananderson9209 I can’t think of a way you could fit them differently. The only way you could reduce the width would be to actually cut and reshape the brackets. It looked to me like there was room to do that, but it’s not something I have the skills to do!
