    The Thevenin equivalent of an ac circuit consists of a voltage source VTh in series with the Thevenin impedance ZTh.
    Thevenin equivalent circuit is depicted in Fig. 10.20, where a linear circuit is replaced by a voltage source in series with an impedance.
    VTh is the open‑circuit voltage .
    If the circuit has sources operating at different frequencies the Thevenin equivalent circuit must be determined at each frequency.

    Practice Problem 10.8: Find the Thevenin equivalent at terminal a-b of the circuit of figure 10.24.
