A few other tips I have learned with my 2021 SR+ are:
1 - The slip start slider button in the Driving tab is important to know about in the winter. When parked in deep snow (10 inches +) your Tesla will shut it's wheels if it can't get traction and your car will not move no matter how much you press on the accelerator. Slip Start disables the traction control and the wheels will turn even in heavy snow allowing your car to get free.
2 - Carry a mini shovel in your trunk. I purchased one after my car got stuck in tip #1 for $12. The shovel is also useful if you need to use a Supercharger because the cables are very short and sometimes the snowplows do a lousy job of snow removal, you don't want to damage your car's rear bumper driving into a icy snow bank while backing into a charging stall.
3- Carry I small microfiber cloth with you in extreme cold. I have noticed the top part of my windshield gets condensation and fogs up due to its sporty slant and the heat having trouble getting up to the very top. A quick wipe at a stop light with the cloth and your windshield is nice and fog free.

When you do the acceleration and braking, is that only for cold weather? What if its already 1000 degrees out?

Thank so much for watching! 😬😬 It was definitely the right decision for my family.
You do go through a couple of learning lessons and hurdles, but the more you watch videos and have the right knowledge ahead of time, you should be fine. I went thru some of those…as you’ll be seeing on some of the videos on my channel 😂

Thanks for all the cold weather tips. I am going to throw a little cold water on the premium air or nitrogen tip for tires. All gasses respond the same way to temperature and pressure. So, it should not matter whether it is air or nitrogen. My second point is that air is mostly nitrogen, 78%. So, any effect of nitrogen alone should also be seen in air. This sounds like a gimmick to me. Other than that keep up with the tips.

Good tips. It should be said that preconditioning is not just a winter thing. Always navigate to a supercharger all year long. Preconditioning will make your supercharger stop as short as possible. The car will remind you when you don't.
In the app you can have the battery preconditioned as well. It is part of the climate control.

You mentioned you do alot of travellung in the wintervto other provinces, what is the coldest temp you've road trip in to other provinces, and how was the heating in your tesla? Any issues with cabin heat?

      Hey Dan, thanks for watching!
Yes I have taken delivery of 2 long range Model 3s from Edmonton and Saskatoon last winter; both cars I drove back in -30C storm.
Edmonton trip took me about 15 hours in total to get to Winnipeg, while Saskatoon was around 9 hours or so.
Similarly I did Edmonton to Winnipeg in the summer which took only 13 hours. Just an hour or so more than a gas car.
In terms of cabin heating, I wear my winter jacket and keep it at 19-20C. No issues with heating at all. I had strong head winds too on my trip from Edmonton so I remember having to turn up the heat to 22C but never was I freezing.

I don’t see why not. Fast and fun, while being super safe. Also, monthly costs as much as a new Honda civic if you calculate gas expenses on the civic.
