I found your channel early one morning while on sick child duty! Love watching them regularly now. My Dad and I did the Leslie-Karamea Track in 6 days and half of that was in my dad’s size 11 crocks after the soles of my much loved old tramping boots fell off! Keep the videos coming! Have you tried reversing the Aeropress . Put the plunger in to number four, turn it on its head and put the coffee in. Pour a small amount of boiling water in to soak the coffee granules, wait a few minutes and give it a good stir add hot water to the brim of the Aeropress.
Screw in the filter basket with a paper in, and very quickly turn it over the cup, then plunge.
Easy!!

@@AbelandVictoria It's called the inversion method, there's arguments over whether it's the superior method. It negates the drip at the beginning which some people don't like as it's weak and mesy.
Great video Abel. Back to the intense wind and rain. You made it look easy to set up camp and I know it wasn’t. To see that camp the next morning with that view of the valley was incredible. I couldn’t believe you have summer that far along where it was so light at 8:30 pm. Always love the hotdog meals! They look so good. Great news on the vehicle. Can’t wait for that. A tip regarding the aeropress: turn it upside down, then the coffee, water, and last the filter and lid. Then you avoid the dripping 😃 Merry Christmas!

I've been watching a lot of camping videos with people going through winter situations in mountains and are all amazing. I live in Greece and we do not have a strong culture that engages in this lifestyle but we do camp during the summer. Everytime i see these videos i wonder how much difficult -or not- would be for you to spent some days camping during the extreme heatwaves we are facing and living on hot sand. I also wonder if it would be extremely difficult for us to experience camping with low temperatures, rain, snow etc. It would be awesome to see in the future a video that highlights the differences as well as the different equipment needs. Thanks for the videos Abel. Enjoy nature!

Yup, @ 13:13, your campsite is just like England. We get 31 degrees in the summer too, plus long days and of course - rain. FYI; Most proper blokes here have strong tea with just a splash of milk. Not many have sugar and we don’t slurp like you mate! Your capacity for get a clip round your ear from your mom for slurping your tea 😅. Your capacity for hot dogs never ceases to amaze me.

Your kit is a bit of backcountry luxury. I recently got a similar Helinox table and didn’t realise how much it enhances the cooking and eating experience in the rare case you don’t have a perfectly placed log or rock. My back is both thanking me and not hating me too much for the extra weight.

I used to invert my aeropress until I purchased a “Primo” it’s a metal filter and non drip valve and so are reusable so remove need for one use filters. Merry Christmas to you and yours 🎄awesome growth 👏👏👏

Had the same aeropress issue. I put the plunger "just" in the body, turned it all upside down and put the coffee and water in then screwed on the filter and filter cap.
I've never seen anyone eat 6 hotdogs in one go. Very impressive indeed :)
Absolutely, the upside down method :D use that all the time when brewing to let it sit for a few minutes

I love the rain, wind and snow tent camping videos, but not quite as much when I go out to do it on my own ... I built a "portable cabin" that I have been testing out. Way more work to transport and set up than a tent, but really nice and comfy to camp in. I am hoping for a snow storm in Colorado before Christmas so I can camp in it again.

You were mentioning that the country side could resemble some parts of the UK, but I have to say, NZ is so much like Western Canada. My husband and I came to NZ for a wedding years ago and we were amazed at how much it resembled where we live here on the coast of British Columbia. Ohhh....those "dogs" look sooo good!

We in the uk have had 2 big storms in the last couple of weeks with the last storm, we had 95 mph winds. 2 people sadly died. It is very much like Scotland with the rolling hills and the mist.
