Otter Creek Labs is killing it! Question! On a 16" 5.56 gun would the Polonium with a 6mm bore at 5.8" long and 1.625" OD (Pew Science's best rated 5.56 dedicated can to date) or the Hydrogen S with a 6.5mm bore at 7" and 1.625" OD perform better?
I know a 30 Cal can is not going to supress a 5.56 as good, but the 1/2mm increase in bore from the Polonium to the Hydrogen seems insignificant enough that the extra 1.2" of length would make it a more quiet can?

Would the hydrogen-S be quieter? Maybe just a little bit… But… A 16” 5.56 being shot rapidity will destroy a solid titanium suppressor (Hydrogen) much faster than a heat-treated 17-4 stainless steel suppressor (Polonium). This is why the Polonium is duty-rated and rated for a full-auto firing schedule on a 5.56. If you’re wanting this strictly for a 5.56 AR, I’d go Polonium for the extra protection.

@@TroyPosey thanks for also addressing the materials as well which is another major consideration on a duty gun. they have an explicit warning not to exceed 800 degrees on the website. Polonium is already the highest rated 5.56 can per Pew Science with a QD mount so on a 16" gun with a YHM QD that'll add almost another inch of length volume and the tighter bore, paired with the adjustable gas block, I'm sure it'll perform amazing and as you stated be much more durable, Polonium it is thank you kindly! 🍻

@@tonybailey89 Glad to help. Be sure to tell the Otter Creek guys who sent you. 😉
You will enjoy the Polonium, I should have mine in the next few weeks to start making some some videos with. 👍🏼
Yes, titanium cans should never exceed 800°F, regardless of brand. And since Titanium is such a poor conductor of heat, it doesn’t take very long to heat up that hot. But, the thing about titanium, is that it also cools down very fast, as well. So letting it sit for 15 minutes in an open air environment, it might still be warm, but you should be able to handle it without getting burned. Stainless cans take a bit longer to cool down completely.

@@TroyPosey absolutely will do! 🍻 Even Alabama Arsenal said it's the quietest 5.56 dedicated can they've heard to date these will be hard to find once news spreads! I'll get subscribed and stay tuned for the Polonium videos as well lookin forward to that content!

Who did you have blueprint the Abolt? I’ve
Got the exact same rifle and would like
    To have it done.

A semi-local guy who is extremely peculiar, and won’t do work for anyone unless he knows you. Can’t blame him, honestly, with the way most folks are these days. Luckily I’ve known him for about a decade, so he does smith work for me. He’s built about 6-7 rifles for me over the years, and had him thread 3 more. About to get 3 more threaded next week.
I used to know a big time company that would do it, but I can’t remember who it is… It might have been LRI (Long Rifles, Inc.).
The hardest part of re-barreling an A-Bolt is getting the old barrel off. Once you finally get the old barrel off and then clean up all the old sticky goopy thread-locker they used at the factory, chasing (squaring) the action threads and making sure the action face and recoil lug faces are square is about the only things to do, other than head-spacing, of course. The old A-Bolt II’s were built to pretty damn good square tolerances for being so mass-produced. If you can find a competent smith to re-barrel yours and square it all up, you’ll have a hell of a shooter. And also, from that point forward, re-barreling that action will be a breeze, and just like any other action. 👍🏼

Awesome. Wonder how it would sound on a 300 wm

That can be arranged, as I have a Remington 700 5R Milspec .300 WinMag, as well. I bought it new over 10 years ago and never shot it. But it will be fairly close to how the 7mm RemMag sounds. I have shot it on one of my 7mm STW"s and my custom .300 Ackley, and it sounded great.
