Hey CJ, after extensive research I use Bick 4 to condition my 875s. I wholeheartedly recommend it as it hasn’t darkened the leather. The flip side is I don’t think it penetrates the leather as much.
Purchased my first pair of RW’s this week, and they’re the 875. I’m a 10 D in most all shoes, after all the reviews went to my RW AD and selected 9 EE, I think they’re going to be perfect. Now I’m Jones’n for the Weekenders,,,,, ugh I’m in trouble.
Yes he sized me on the Brannock it showed 10. Tried 9 as well as 9.5 in both D and E2. The 9.5 felt big and loose. The 9 D were super tight on the side of foot. The 9 E2 were snug in the toe box but felt like they would be the best choice after the break in process was completed. When I purchased them I wore a pair merino wool socks the dealer said that was the best sock type for a more accurate fit/sizing. Been wearing them around the house a couple hours will slowly work them in. Thanks for all your reviews/informational videos.
Nice boots, about time you got them. One thing, they're not "fully" leather lined. Just a leather lined vamp or toe box area, the rest of the upper is left unlined. Enjoy the kicks man!
Definitely my next purchase-- though I'm leaning towards the taller 877. Also, it looks as though the stitching at the top of the moc is pulling apart.Either way, thanks again for a fine video enabling my addiction.

@@CJCookRight on.I will eventually get the 8830's too. With that soft rough and tough leather with the way the leather toe vamp extends all the way around the foot, that will be one comfy boot. . I saw brian the bootmaker cut a 877 down to 6 inch. i know why the customer did it now after owning a pair of 877's myself. The full leather that is continuious on the inside verses the break in between the toe vamp and heel area on the 6 inch mocs.Just like real moccasins the way the leather is all the way around your entire foot and the sides that molds to your feet better than the 6 inch redwing moc.i still like my 6 inch mocs but the 8inch mocs take it to a different level on the inside. If you ever get a chance to do a cut away of the 877's or 8830's vs the inside of the the 6 inch like the 875's, i think a lot of folks would be suprised of the difference on the interior of the two.Man you got me thinking about the 8830's again. lol

Good question. I have never tried to remove it because I like the look. Let me pull out a boot and try something. I know I have it on my Roughout boots. Checking smooth leathers.
Hey CJ. I have the Iron Ranger 8085. It's my only pair of Red Wings and I bought it in a 8.5 size. I love the boots but I had to buy an insert to get them to fit right. I have been considering the 875, but am wondering if I should go a half size smaller. I wear a 9 in shoes typically. What do you think?
You probably should have purchased an 8 in the Iron Ranger. I think you should buy an 8.5 in the Moc Toe. A 9 would not be too big...you could swing it.
I have few questions. Which one you prefer 875 oro legacy leather vs 1907 copper rough and tough leather? Are they run big? I heard the 1907 runs true to size with the extra leather insole. Most of the heritage line does not come in 10e only the 10875 do. 10.5 feels a bit big but comfortably snugg. Since I don’t have experience with boots I feel a bit uncomfortable with wearing 10.5 bc it feels a little big. What is your suggestion? I was thinking about trying 9.5ee
Hello, so you have a wide foot. I was in Red Wing a few weeks ago and this guy came in and he had wide feet as well. I think his foot measured a size 10 but he wore a size 13 in sneakers for comfort. The poor fella could not fit his foot in the Chukka boots he wanted. I think a 9.5 EE would be a wise choice.
