Wow! That is one solid collection 😍😍😍 It’s interesting to me because there are several of you out there who say they don’t have problems with break in. I wonder if for other men it could be due to getting the wrong size or width. Anyhow, I am SO happy to hear your 10877’s feel that great. And they must be magical in this winter climate. Thank you! I’m looking to get one of these boots are your video is an awesome comparison! I can’t thank you enough! And yes, you helped me make my decision, it will be the 10877 in 13 EE! Thanks again!😎
It’s very informative. Thanks hips. I originally wanted to have 877 but I only can purchase 10877 offline here in Australia. It was good to know that 877 comes with D only. Cause I prefer wider sole! 👍
just paid $250 for a vintage pair of 877s with upgraded speed hooks on the top 5 eyelets as well as upgraded toe protection, and it is beautifully patinaed to a sort of deep orange/red... i gotta wear them now :)
I have the 10877 is hard to break after few months but I love this boot , I use in snow , rain , work on the yard , for go out on weekend. I used for everything 😀
I totally agree with you! I’ve had mine for 2 years and the leather is still so sturdy. They are such well made boots. I love that you wear yours for everything!
I have the work line, and my son has the heritage line. As I had refused to buy a boot for looks. But his came with a leather insole as mine did not. That was easily the price difference. I purchased the leather insole about a year later. Big difference. Now your telling me the heritage has thicker leather? As I expected, because I clean and oil both pairs. But the work line comes in more sizes and a better warranty. Good video.
You’re right! The work line does offer many more widths and sizes and a better warranty. I’m glad to hear you both love your boots for different reasons!
It would be so much more convenient to put on! I absolutely can never wear my 877’s when I’m in a hurry! I always have to remove the laces from the first four eyelets to fit my foot inside.
I think I actually prefer the 10877 because it’s closer to the original color. Conditioning can change color too, just depends on the life of the boot I guess!
I have the 10877's. I wanted the 877's and the local RW store had none. The manager explained the color differences and said that the 10877's were in stock. 877's vs 10877's: same quality, made by the same people on the same production lines. You would not be able to tell the difference unless they were side by side. Yes it take a while to break in but once they are broken in they are very comfortable. You will learn to use and appreciate the finger loop in the back.
I love driving past men and women on their bikes and seeing them in Red Wings. SCORE 😎 And I agree. I could barely press on my car’s break, on my way home, the first time I wore mine. And I felt like a clown walking up and down stairs. But it’s sooo rewarding breaking them in. I’m excited for your journey. And before you know it, they will be buttery soft 🤩
I own two pairs of 10877, that I use as a carpenter (I alternate the boots every other day). I’ve had one pair for about a year and a half and the other for a year, & the shaft is still tough as hell.
My 877’s are so much more flexible than they were when I first got them. But just like your 10877’s, the shaft still doesn’t feel as soft as I’m sure they’ll become.
When I went to REDWING MINNESOTA I picked up a pair of 10877 I thought they were the better buy I have a lot of Heritage boots. But I just thought that the extra branding was worth it and they were about $20 cheaper than the 877. It look like you were paying more for the same boot but with less branding on it. I still style them the same as if they were Heritage Boots. But great video over all
I love the 877. I started to try the 10877, but I was like “it’s the same boot” almost. So I just got the 877. All I could find was the Redwing logo and the black eyelets. I was confused. So I did the 877.
Cement mason 502 chicago...877 all day..I have 3 pairs in rotation as it takes about 2 months for resole...I wear em with rw moldable insoles and its like walking on carpet all day..best work boot out there if you do the required maintenance..
