  • Cars with aftermarket ECU's can also get awesome gauges that read from their CAN network. We install a gauge into the steering column cover that displays multiple pages of data sent from the ECU.

    • @MotoCat91
      @MotoCat91 5 лет назад +18

      On top of the quality concerns, I've always hated the idea of a square screen in a round housing too, circles are for analogue stuff (round digital watches included in this hate).
      But with the recent uptake of round LCD and OLED screens you could fill it out more and even replicate analogue gauges.
      Like, a cheap smartwatch, one of those knock offs that run full Android, could bluetooth into a $5 OBD2 adapter, and display a full colour circular analogue gauge with customisable axes, and for a fraction of the cost.
      So why -do- these things cost so much?

    A viddy showing how an OBD2 reader with an app is installed would be great please! Otherwise always loving the content and the banjo was awesome!

    I use an obd2 Bluetooth adapter with TORQUE app for my gauges in my 98 Lexus Gs400 / Toyota Aristo400 and it does have a bit of lag not sure if it’s the app or adapter or maybe my ecu but it looks cool when you chop Honda’s ! Lol love from SoCal !

    That Ryobi soldering iron was pretty useful in this modification.

    You should look into the leatherique steering wheel kit Marty. I used it on an old Worn Nardi wheel and it came out mintttt. 🤘

    Using an Android app like Torque on an Android headunit connecting to a Bluetooth ODB2 dongle is a very nice solution and I have never seen any lag issues.

    Really good gauge. I've got a dual gauge set up on the coloumn with wideband and boost.
    This would of been a much handier gauge to install too does a crazy amount of stuff
