Use the TINY house as a HOME BASE and when you feel the urge to travel take a short journey in the van and then get back to reality with the animals. The Dawn of Van Life was an inspiration but when you drove your van back to OK that's when I knew I had to go live the life I wanted. I just bought a Chevy Express van to convert. jaylena totally sounds like me. I still am figuring out what "camping" means. My mom was a single mom and worked so I never camped or really traveled before now. So everything is super new and some of it still intimidating. The fun is that moment you embrace it.

Maybe you can "rent" a space on your property to someone who needs a place to set up their tiny house. Jason, you said you would love to travel for two week periods. You should hike to crystal lake from the alluvial fan trail head. Near or in Estes park Colorado. Me and a buddy did the hike years ago. When we had some downtime from a staircase install job on a church that faces twin peaks. That's a whole nother story. But it was the beginning of winter or so. We hiked seemingly forever with backpacks and survival gear and freedom sticks. It was fairly cool at lower elevations when we began. About half way up it began to snow we kept on. Then we got to previous snow pack and a defined packed trail of snow. I remember a huge roundish boulder about the size of the tiny house. And then seemingly out of nowhere this huge cow elk came up the mountain within feet of both of us. We both froze with a bit of fear and complete amazement. We just turned and looked at each other like did that really just happen. We continued a little further and reached a clearing where there was so much snow we couldn't tell where the trail was and I had stepped off the trail once and sank in snow up to my hip. We decided we weren't prepared for an overnight stay on the mountain in the cold. We had to turn back we saw what we thought was crystal lake but not 100 percent sure due to the snow and the lack of getting our google maps to work on our phones. We hesitantly turned back and got back to the pickup with everything covered in fresh snow and foggy conditions it looked like we had entered another world. My only regrets are not having the frame of mind to document it all on camera.and the pictures I had thought would always be preserved on Facebook seems to all be gone. Seems they delete stuff once it's so old. But it's a memory neither of us will ever forget. It's on my bucket list to go back and get to see that lake and document the trip I doubt it could compare with the original hike but I want to see if it was the lake area I seen or not I want to see the same huge boulder in the woods and remember the huge cow elk trudging up the mountain and snorting at us as it paused for just a second when it seen us. My buddy was the bosses son at the time and the pickup I still drive today was the company truck at the time. So the old pickup holds alot of memories I bought the truck back in like 07 and haven't had to put much into it. I think your van will be much the same with good luck.

My 2cents idea.......Develop a route, with the overall “game plan” of visiting lesser known State Parks. Coordinate with their Staff for arrival, and then help each other... you promote their Park, they promote your channel as a reference source. You will make some great friends, and have a safe, inexpensive, hopefully clean place to stay....

Traveling is fun and adventurous, more so when you are young, IMO. When you get older you can but that also means you can’t leave animals and no gardens., which means you have to decide what you want most. 😀
Someone once told me life was like driving a car. You can't just hold the wheel straight. As you drive you are constantly moving it...correcting, slowing the gas, pedal to the floor. Sharp turns, running out of gas! Life is never a straight line. Sometimes you have to take back roads to get somewhere.

My own years of not being able to travel over family and school to see USA by RV or other, time nor money permitted. Yet finally at least put foot on soil in all 48 USA states by tours per Greyhound. (slept on bus after 10pm and occ, motels near stations) Was able to go into Vancouver, Canada, Winnipeg per Dakotas, and Quebec per tunnel Ohio, Mich. etc.Maine lobster was a treat but rained so hard turned back.)
Take as deep breathe. And dive into your life guys anywhere it may take you. Rather it be a slow river move are white rapids, just take the time enjoy every second God gives you on Earth. Be responsible to yourself first your Critters II, although my daughter would say Critters come first. And your family and friends. You need to enjoy your life when you can. Live with no regrets. And as a side note you guys are living my lifetime dream that I will never be able to take scary due to health issues so just keep rolling on. 1 minute at a time. And don't blink because you can miss everything. Love you guys
As a 60 year old female married over 30 years. My husband and I run team drivers over the road for 20 years. We live in central Florida. You can travel stay any where you plan while getting paid. We do off the grid type thing. The house can be empty or folk are willing to stay there. Cooler than were they live. It’s a great big mixed up world. A must see😁

If you feed the animals everyday, like clockwork. They won't jump the fence. My sister's animals jum the fence because she random feeds daily. My dads animals automatically come in at the same time every day for grub. Breakfast, they graze all day, and then dinner. 7am is breakfast, 5pm is dinner.
Life has a way of ruining your plans and taking you out of your comfort zone but, it's all for a reason. I'm sitting watching your video and found it interesting. You both are young and should enjoy life while you, because life doesn't come with a guarantee. I've done a bit of traveling and can say I've been from the west coast to the east coast. I would still like to but injuries from work and age is catching up with me. Dream your dreams kiddos and be happy. I have always said what Jalena was saying Everything happens for a reason. Go to Telluride and Ouray, CO! Awesome places. I've lived in the Colorado Rockies just about my entire life. Ouray just opened a new state of the art hot springs pool.

My own years of not being able to travel over family and school to see USA by RV or other, time nor money permitted. Yet finally at least put foot on soil in all 48 USA states by tours per Greyhound. (slept on bus after 10pm and occ, motels near stations) Was able to go into Vancouver, Canada, Winnipeg per Dakotas, and Quebec per tunnel Ohio, Mich. etc.Maine lobster was a treat but rained so hard turned back.)

Be responsible to yourself first your Critters II, although my daughter would say Critters come first. And your family and friends. You need to enjoy your life when you can. Live with no regrets. And as a side note you guys are living my lifetime dream that I will never be able to take scary due to health issues so just keep rolling on. 1 minute at a time. And don't blink because you can miss everything. Love you guys
As a 60 year old female married over 30 years. My husband and I run team drivers over the road for 20 years. We live in central Florida. You can travel stay any where you plan while getting paid. We do off the grid type thing. The house can be empty or folk are willing to stay there. Cooler than were they live. It’s a great big mixed up world. A must see😁

If you feed the animals everyday, like clockwork. They won't jump the fence. My sister's animals jum the fence because she random feeds daily. My dads animals automatically come in at the same time every day for grub. Breakfast, they graze all day, and then dinner. 7am is breakfast, 5pm is dinner.

I had to put a hot wire (solar powered) to keep my goats in. After a few shocks they stay away from fence.
Life has a way of ruining your plans and taking you out of your comfort zone but, it's all for a reason.
