Thanks, you can still see the grey seam sealer from the day before though haha, it was crunch time to get the unibodystiffeners welded on then painted. We didn't get time to run the grey seam sealer till the day before while it was on the trailer. Thanks for recognising how clean it is underneath, we have a lot of time invested in the undercarriage.
Thanks man! We took our time with this one for sure. We still have a list of things that we want to do to it, I will try to post more videos of it as we continue building up the XJ.
FINALLY somebody working on the same type of XJ I have, I have a 96 2 door 2wd with a manual trans. I hope to do a 4x4 conversion sometime in the future
Thanks, our goal was minimal trimming with no rub. Very happy with how the XJ turned out. Only things that need to change suspension wise would be shackle relocation brackets and better shocks. Our buddy is running the IronMan Fab relocation brackets and he gets way more movement out of his rear leaf pack.
I love them more than the new ones. Thats why we started out with the cleanest 2wd 2-door we could find. Now we just have to keep it in nice shape and not thrash it too hard, lol
Great build going on there guys. I subscribe and look forward to seeing more of the videos on your channel. I just finished building some rock sliders/ steps for my H3. Take care and stay safe guys
Thanks for the sub! We are working on the interior portion of the jeep now and should have some more content uploaded soon on the 2-door XJ. Once we get it 80% done I will start on the Comanche project, I have a Mercedes turbodiesel in the shop that will be going in that one.
Definitely something that we fixed after this ride. This was the first time ever being on a trail with the jeep. I hope to post an update video of the jeep soon but we are prepping it for paint at the moment
Just replaced my idiot light instrument cluster with a newer set that has actual guages.....I also happen to have a EPROM Programmer with the SOI8 cable to copy the chip with the milage and VIN off it and clone the new one.... Might want to check into it when they do the yearly vehicle inspection.
We still have a lot of work to do on it. We are sitting on a stack of parts to install. Such as 2 gallons of HouseOfKolor green British racing metallic paint. And a full Focal Audio sound system . I will put an itemized parts list in the description this week but I would say around 10k, including the parts that we have yet to install. Paint and body work will begin in the spring when we move to our new property. Then roll cage & suspension seats.
Rustys offers 3 types of systems: Radius Arm, 3-Link and 4-Link. The Radius arm was the right choice for us because they have better on road handling characteristics especially when towing. We use ours to tow the Jon boat. My 1 ton ram uses a radius arm suspension. We opted to go with the grease-able Johnny Joints that you can adjust as they wear. So far we like them. I will have 2 videos up next week of the Rustys radius arm and the CavFab 3 link in a rock garden. You will be able to see a few differences on how they function in the rocks.
Nice Jeep man but just so you know ethanol is actually good for these Jeeps it can lower intake temps a bit, these jeeps just aren't old enough to be affected and actually 10% ethanol is recommended this was really only an issue in the 70s into early 80s the rubber in that fuel system is rated for ethanol.
This was my little brothers first build, took 3 years of saving up parts to get it going down the trail. He wants to add rear disk breaks eventually, but that will happen in the 3rd stage of the build.
I searched high and low, exhausted all means trying to find those engine mounts. They were on my 2 door when i bought it. I know this video is 2yrs old, but where can I get them? PLEASE!
@@CampbellBrothersOutdoors I have Rubicon express Boomerang shackles, I believe they are 1 1/2 longer then stock on top of 3" lift springs and she flows free
Hey this is gonna sound very specific I have a 2 door xj and was wondering if anyone could tell me what that back side window panel is called if anyone knows please let me know
From our measurements we lifted it 15” from the stock saggy 2wd suspension. Technically the suspension lift we used was 8” of lift over a factory 4x4 Cherokee. Our stock suspension had seen better days...
@@CampbellBrothersOutdoors you don't live in nh by chance do you lol. If I have 3.5 of lift and the Ford 8.8 is higher do I need a sye and cv driveshaft... I haven't even bashed them on forums or Facebook no bad reviews I just want half back that they claimed the axle swap would cost so I can get a new driveshaft and fix my transfer case. I wish I could work on vehicles but I live in a condo. Idk what to do next. I feel like a sye and cv is going overboard considering it's a 2 door that Ive been trying to make better and restore and do it right with good parts and it only is lifted 3.5 4.5 max there are people with 6 inch lift that have stock driveshaft. Also I have the transfer case drop... Should I do a motor mount lift will that effect the angle enough?
The Jeep looks great, but the real star of this video is that kid and his mullet. Majestic.
Git-r-done boys great build nothing like getting your buds together and pitching in. Keep the vids coming

That XJ is so RAD!!!!. One problem I see is the rear shackle angle.
Great observation, that was the first thing we fixed when we got back! We noticed how much better the 4 door XJ was flexing in the rear
I had an identical Cherokee same color same dash just mine had a 2.5 4 cylinder

Rustys offers 3 types of systems: Radius Arm, 3-Link and 4-Link.
The Radius arm was the right choice for us because they have better on road handling characteristics especially when towing. We use ours to tow the Jon boat. My 1 ton ram uses a radius arm suspension.

Rusty's coils ride nice. Everyone bags on Rusty's. He been doing this since 1977.

It's actually not good for anything older then 2000, I have a 89 and this ethenol tears everything up

Did yall keep the Dana 35? Why not an 8.8 swap?
High pinion Dana 30 in the front and Chrysler 8.25 in the back. Both have Yukon shafts and ARB lockers.

Correct, no sway bar
what wheels are those? can you tell me the brand and the wheel wide?
Raceline RT81 bead locks, widest offset available on the website

55mph 2000rpm 5th gear, we dont run a sway bar so we keep it under 60

8" lift and 35x12.5 Tires
